The most complex goa trrance was written by Etnica/Pleiadians
Manuser replied to radi6404's topic in General Psytrance
Exactly, for example Darshan - Awakening always was considered a Goa album, and it is. It sounds way different than MWNN or Etnica and thanks God not all goa trance sound the same. -
Yeah pretty much agree with all the reviews above, this album is curiously underrated. Very solid release.

You can always try to upload it on youtube, maybe someone will reply you with the name of the track -
Old school albums that could use a Remaster
Manuser replied to Penzoline's topic in General Psytrance
Agree about IFO, i would also add: Battle of the future Buddhas - Twin sharkfins (especially the track Lord of the dance) Chi-A.D. - Anno domini (would be awesome to listen to Moonart with a modern mastering) Indoor - Progressive trance Green nuns - Rock bitch mafia and some Asia 2001 albums (Dreamland, Ama zone...) -
Outside world was an instant classic. I also like Commander Tom - Are am eye

One word: beautiful. This album for me will ever be an essential (like Atmos-Headcleaner is).
-
Totally agree. Happens too many times to sell a CD and regret it 10 years later...that was the case with this one, just re listening to this on youtube right now. Unique stuff. Nice review Mdk.
-
2 essentials IMO: New kind of world + Project genesis.
-
Did you listen to Mindsphere? The album Patience for heaven is a must have (and it is a double CD so it's really worth the money)
-
Never heard of track 1 but track 2 is a damn good track

Lol are you talking about the Khetzal track I posted just above? I think it's a shame it is so fast. One track I really like above 150 BPM is Blue planet corporation - Lubiantia (it's not really psy or goa though).
-
Example of a track I dislike just because of the BPM. It sounds wrong: Now the same track - minus 10 BPM, sounds like a masterpiece Generally I prefer 130-145.

IMO this is a stunning and unique album. 4 pages of reviews and many negative ones, well different people different taste but this is an album that grows on you over the years. I can't remember many psytrance albums with so much variety from start to finish, this disc got everything, psytrance, progressive, dub...funky house? "Go fly a kite" is a beauty. "Lunar bin" is psychedelic as hell. And my third favourite is probably "6 cells" some very cool loops in this track. I never was a fan of Forever After but Dragon Tales was brilliant, then I wouldn't know if I prefer Dragon tales or The Great Unknown, both great albums! After that the album U-turn was a mistake, a disappointment, well this is again my opinion of course, I am sure some liked it. Anyway, The Great Unknown is an essential. And it's cheap on Discogs. Get it! 8.5/10. PS: never minded the cover, I don't really care about the sexy chicks and I like the colours, anyway it's different just like the album! : )

I don't like it just 2 days ago i was listening to Cosmosis-Cosmology, great album, then thought what is the point of this track "afterglow" at the end, especially after the brilliant "key to the innerverse"? and most of the time it is like this, there are a few exceptions like the last track of the Hunab-Ku album or Orichalcum's "cosmic pillow" which is wonderful, but in general these last slow tracks are fillers. And like you said this is too predictable. But the thing is, I wouldnt mind at all if the slow track was let's say track#6 in a 9 tracks album, Just the right moment for a slow interlude.

Koxbox made goa trance before they released The great unknown. The great unknown got a bit of everything, psytrance, dub, progressive, great album. The first 2 albums are weird goa, I put them in Hallucinogen's category, Hallucinogen made goa but some of his old tracks were more psytrance than goa. -

Very good track and I am surprised it is not a well known track, I have no idea who made it. Wait until Anoebis read this topic I guess -
One of my fav techno tracks, THOMAS SCHUMACHER - WHEN I ROCK

1. Loud - Enlightenment (Oforia Remix) There is a cool loop at the beginning that remains for most of the track, but i was surprised that nothing really happens towards the end, i agree with Mdk above, no inspiration here (laziness?) (never heard the original). 5/10 2. - Adrenalin Drum - Goa Visions Agree with Mdk as well, really cool 303 melody but the whole track is quite empty, but as I still like what i hear, bassline, melody, 303, I give it a 7/10 3. Qlipadelic Rhythm & Jikooha - Spirit of God I was disappointed. Actually I don't know Qlipadelic Rhythm at all but I am a fan of Jikooha and I have heard so much better from Jikooha in the past, this track actually tries to be creative and psychedelic with many layers but the final result is forgettable, that melody in the second half is not that interesting. 5.5/10 4. Aurax - Enoch Nothing really incredible but what i hear is good enough, effective psytrance. 6.5/10 5. Computer Controlled - Physical Reality First of all, the intro is very good with a nice climax, this is how good intros should sound like. After that intro, nothing happens for quite a while until actually the 4th minute mark, there is a breakdown, you think something good will come out, you wait wait...6th minute mark finally some nice melodies. This track lasts 8 minutes but could have lasted 10 given the quality of the last two minutes... still a pleasant track. 7.5/10 6. Cymatics - Narrow Vision In A Wide World This one starts quick with nice acidic leads, then develops into a typical neo goa track, a la Filteria. Some parts remind me Lost into the wild from Filteria, but this track came 2 years earlier so..! After the 5th minute mark the track gets even better and more melodic, I dig that track a lot. Great job - 8/10 7. InnerZone - Analogue Sunrise Weird intro, please stop! 0:55 nice it's over. A bit like track 3 I was not convinced, busy track indeed but more is not always better, many layers yet it's not that catchy until 5:45 and a great lead that stays 45 seconds. 5.5/10 8. California Sunshine - Gate To The Past Slow track, an atmosphere trying to be entrancing... is it working? Yes and no. It's not that bad, the track sounds repetitive with a typical California sunshine loop but i was so surprised to hear the track finish at 6:30 I mean really? Why? lol this one could easily have lasted 10 minutes if the guys decided to work more on it...they didn't and were satisfied with this? I'm puzzled, most unfinished track I have heard for a long time... 5/10 9. 2 Minds - Evil Echo The traditional downtempo track, I rarely dig them at the end of compilations (and albums) this one is decent I guess. 6/10 So as you can see from my ratings, this compilation is not my favourite. 2 very good tracks: #5 and #6 Other nice tracks: #2 and #4 The rest is not amazing. That's a total of 4 tracks really worth listening and I was not happy with that - expected more.

radi is right, Ormion is asking for help to handle stress, i wouldn't recommend weed first: i never smoked weed so i'm not sure about the price but i guess it's not cheap and Ormion talked about financial issues second: best way to get addicted, step by step...not good you have to keep fighting, and try to get jobs, 2 jobs if you can, not easy i know, i'm in the same situation trying to make money by gambling on sports now but i wouldn't recommend it to anyone, that's actually very stressful yeah keep fighting, do sports like it was said, sports that doesn't cost anything like work out outside, running, etc.

sure the song you posted sounds cheesy, though i understand why you like it the melodic background reminds me this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW9F81Kvm1o so cool so melancholic, i'm sure you know this anyway

Very psychedelic especially "the answer"

VERY VERY GOOD compilation, can't believe it is 12 years old now. Trippy and very creative music!! No boring track here! That is psytrance at its best. A solid 8/10, a compilation I will keep and listen for a long time, the swedish sound is really something! I miss this kind of music, is there anything similar released in the last 3 years?
