Preview: Acid Clan - Smile of the Buddha
Manuser replied to Acid Clan's topic in Free Music Promotion
Guess it sounds like a good start hard to tell because it is just the beginning of the track but sounds promising... by the way, don't you think your vocal sample got too much ''bass'' ? (i'm sorry i am not into music making at all and I hope you know what I mean by that ?)- 3 replies

I thought that was BRILLIANT. I love this kind of concept album, it's never boring, each track is different and it is VERY psychedelic. Ending track is perfect to close this album out. HIGHLY recommended if you are open to something different. 8.5/10.

It sounds amazing IMO, love the atmosphere there, love the break down / build up, can you tell us when the track is finished, would be nice

Really reminds me Jeff Pearce, try Jeff Pearce: To the shores of heaven, you should like it -
i guess you should just deal with it then ?

If you wanna listen to some cheesy dance goa trance which doesn't sound too serious, this CD is for you. Entertaining, cool music i must say even if indeed sounds a bit amateur. 6/10 : )

i'm gonna do crap, back in a couple of minutes!! -
I Like it of course, but nobody noticed the whole track sounds like different parts of different tracks copied/pasted to make one single track ? I always had this feeling listening to this song... so many different moods in one track. But yes I like it a lot !

Label: Kinetix Recordings Country: UK Released: 1998 1- Guitar Slinger: 9:21 2- Pyramid Power: 7:31 3- Land Of The Tiger: 6:49 4- Alice In Acidland: 7:38 5- Buddah Bless You: 5:59 6- Voyage To Atlantis: 10:12 7- The Hard The Fast And The Acid: 8:08 8- Spinning Head: 6:09 9- Freak Out: 6:29 This albums sounds very oldschool, typical Shamanic tribes on acid with this hybrid style acid/goa/trance but with no real complexity. Track 1 is a promising first track, very intense stuff, acid and melodic. Then you got 2 average tracks, darker and a bit tribal but too repetitive. Track 4 is quite nice! Intense acid goa, followed by track 5 which is average, drum & bass like rhythm, it sounds too repetitive. Track 6 sounds more peaceful than the rest because of this female voice, quite entrancing...basslines and atmosphere are cool! Track 7 is dance/goa style, very old school and simple, not too bad but i regret that the kickdrum doesn't have more power. Track 8 again got a drum & bass rhythm, short dark track, makes a change from the previous tracks but not my cup of tea. The abum ends pretty poorly with track 9 being not interesting, too intense/repetetive and similar to the rest. One of the things i regret is the use of the same snares/hi-hats in nearly all the tracks, the kickdrum could also be more powerful. It's also probably too intense to listen to the 9 tracks in a row. It gets exhausting... I always thought Shamanic tribes music sounded too amateur even if the guy can make some interesting tracks! This album is worth listening for two or three tracks (tracks 1, 4 and 6), so i'm not gonna recommend to buy this album.

great Solar fields track as usual with him ! great atmosphere. 7.5/10 next: Pigs in space - Heliolatry (don't worry it's not 13 mn long but 8 mn) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GU87hGDsOQE

I agree with Oopie's choice, it's probably one of the best. Bony Incus and Shoneberg definitely deserve a mention.
