how about the Nuclear ramjet track i posted above?

radi is it tracks like this u're talking about ?

Check out the album of Darshan "awakening" it is dark, atmospheric, very controlled goa trance, not agressive, except track 4 and the last track. You didn't say if you want dark or not dark, Darshan's album is dark but something unique, nothing to do with the current fast dark psytrance. For morning light goa trance you should know of course the album of Blue planet corporation "blue planet", tracks like "Crystal", "Alidade", "Atoll"... Also, tracks like Power source "vorlan" or Indoor "naxus". I really like the Indoor track, so oldschool, so emotional. and plenty of tracks by California sunshine : "jajo", "travel in time", "shintu shanti"....

for some reason i really dig this track !
-
I agree with needle ninja, it sounds really close to hardcore to me. Anyway, the craziest acid core track i have ever heard is Pete Skank - Stay in bed forever That's a VERY sick and hard track. Also of course you probably know Solar quest - Acid air raid even if i'm not sure it is what u're looking for.

Here is Flower Power : I was surprised to discover this track only a few months ago, i thought i knew all the good Tim Schuldt tracks but apparently i didn't Agree with Mono substance - Midnight Sunrise that's a powerful track ! And of course Ohm Shiva, Animatronic, and a few others! PS : Mad cows on acid haha nice memories!

Hi all ; ) Reading the few reviews above I don't really get it ... ok these reviews are old and different people=different taste, but still i'm sure if X-dream made this album everyone would write it's a masterpiece. And calling it tech trance? Ok maybe track 5 is techno but the rest is just trance. To be honest i think tracks 5 and 7 may be a little bit boring, but all the rest is really fine! Tracks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6. Especially track 2 "minas morgul", there is something about this track, very progressive, entrancing, hypnotic... OK it sounds a bit old but i really recommend this underground album ... 7.5/10, really good work =)

agree, track 8 is the best track here, acidic and melodic, that's all we need !

As we were talking the other day about the last album of Kindzadza, i would be curious to hear what the tracks sound like with a 145 bpm speed, i guess really great, cause sorry but their actual tracks are way too fast.
-
Am i the only one thinking that the kickline used in "naughty moves" ruins the track ? a shame cause the rest of the track is great but what a bad choice of a kickline, you can hardly do worst, i don't get it... otherwise, like most people here i really like, of course, "Alien pump", a track i first had on a Distance to goa compilation, that's why it's an absolute classic for me. my other favourites : - "orca" : nice dark and fast track, i like its atmosphere. - "visually distorted" : but i see what the other guy means when he's saying "annoying melody", it's probably that loop that really sounds like a Pig in Space track, anyway this track is great goa. - "rodeo" : might be my favourite of the album today because it's different, quite unique, and that melody at the end makes me smile!! nice album on the whole : 7.5/10.

So what do you think about the new Kindzadza?

Damn.. I never listened to Kindzadza before, i just ended up reading this thread and listened to the 3 tracks posted by Ormin + The track posted above by Paradox. That's a matter of taste of course but for me all these tracks are simply ruined by a high BPM ! Way too fast ! For me psytrance (dark, goa, progressive... whatever) is good when it's not fast like happy hard core ! That's a shame cause the tracks sound really innovative IMO, really fun ! If these tracks were 145 bpm fast i think they would be just great! My 2 cents... -
i think we should close this thread

Hello there ! Been away from psytrance for a while and I suddenly found this track on youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rILGy3CalI0 seriously, I love it. at first i did'nt pay attention at the track name, so i thought, just another full on track, then came this melody, i was surprised by its quality, then checked the track name and i got it !! Sorry if there was a thread about this before but haven't found it. Anyway, is it common in psytrance to remake classical songs ? don't think so... but if there are a few around i'll definitely check them out ... do you have any names ? I must say, i'm not a fan of full on, but with this melody it's just much more appealing !

haha. OZ is just awesome really! technosomy i see you are from Oz, i've been working in shitty places like Karratha but got so much money from the work. This country is unbelievable really, i miss it everyday, especially after living there 2 years (not in a row), i mean you feel so free to go anywhere, you can get work anywhere, having great time on the road, see gorgeous beaches (and bicthes ). Haven't had the chance to go to a psy party though... but Best time of my life

same as you hehe stopped listening to psytrance and then back to it been living in Australia for 2 years, very busy working and travelling there. Now back to my home town in France, doing absolutely nothing and everyone talk only about the recession anyway we're still young and fresh

Procyon you are right, I am with you. I am not sure the real reason is that people don't wanna waste their time to write a review about a release they don't like. There might be another reason, because if you look the review sections about albums released before 1999, you can read quite lots of negative reviews, even on really good albums : for example Pleiadians - Family of light. One of the reason could be that music today got more commercial, and people might have been educated through some forums, that you'd better not write anything if you don't like the albums. Also, the prodution quality improved a lot these last 10 years, and i believe, people tend to judge more the production quality, than the music itself.

lol reger, yes dunno how but i kinda ended up getting back here how's going mate ?
-
Yes, I just make a difference between down tempo (chill out) trance like Psychoactive herbes, Asura or those Boris Blenn tracks, and ambient like Steve Roach, Jeff Pearce.... but that's nothing important anyway, just details.
-
I noticed this is a complex album but also fragile, there are times it bores me and there are times I enjoy it. Not for everyone.
-
You call that ambient ? I don't know how to call it but it's not ambient. If this is ambient, then Koxbox - searching for psychoactive herbs, is ambient. Which is obviously not the case. Sounds pretty nice though. A bit in the style of the Shiva chandra track you mentionned on a different thread (Milkbar).
