Aloha Ward, no problem, I know, I don't use the term neo goa either but since many people are using it, peer pressure got me somehow while reviewing I guess... I've noticed you've got something new released, my ears are open

I was kinda thinking in the same direction the latest years, probably this is a trance artist who made one track that's goa minded... Do you happen to know euro trance forums that are reliable?
-
maybe also bleutech... The description is pretty vague..

I used to be a big fan of reggae, rock steady, dance hall, dub and i'm still listening to it, but not that much as I used to be... I still like the classics like Steel pulse, culture, bob marley (off course), Alberosie, Soldiers of jah etc... Also ragga like Gentlemen, Mr. vegas, Red rat, Capleton, Ward 21 are still in my playlist. I've used to go to festivals and have the intention to go again, I love the relax positive vibe

I used to have the entire tracklist of this mix but lost it... The first track is wizzy noise that I'm sure but I can't find the exact track (name) anymore... The rest of the mix I know... I've uploaded the entire mix (it's 57mb) so that's not much... If someone could help me out, it's one of my favorite wizzy noise tracks... It should be around 2003-2004 I think... http://www.van-de-venne.com/koen/Nemesis.mp3

How we review, old and new combined...
Sideffect... replied to Sideffect...'s topic in General Psytrance
That's up to the mod's actually. The signal is obvious and presented. We'll see how it turns out, no stress I believe those review rules are a bit outdated, I don't know who wrote them but they are good, but it seems to me they are written in a timezone when we had plenty off reviewers compared to today... -
It think that sums it up for Belgium pretty good... It's hard to describe. Considering the numbers I don't follow but not because I disagree, I just think it's impossible to estimate... There is one thing I notice over here in Belgium (I don't know how it is around the world) When people stop attending goa parties or electronic parties at all they often stop listening to the music at home. That's a trend in my friends and very obvious. I'm the only one who still listens to goatrance today in 2012, compared to 2002 where there are > 30 listeners... So that's a huge difference, not that my friends are "the statistics" but since we don't have any, my 2cents etc...

Younger brother was first one my mind as mentioned above, Carbon based lifeforms maybe...

In 1904, there was no Salton Sea. The Salton sink occupied the vast expanse of land 40 miles south of Palm Springs, California with an elevation 226 feet below sea level. The Salton trough was formed by the stretching and sinking of the San Andreas Fault, on which the Salton sink sits. A flood in 1905 saw the Colorado River pour into the sink, and by the time authorities managed to stop the flooding two years later, the largest lake in California had formed. Fifty years later the Salton Sea would be seen as the American Riviera, one of the more popular destinations in California.

Funny I used the search and I didn't find a review, But there are (what is a good thing off course) Still I took the effort of writing a short one myself, cause I had the idea this release certainty deserved one, so why not post it... Portamento – The Portal http://www.discogs.c...release/3089702 White Dwarf 48 Hours The Portal Monkshroom Injected Spawn Biosphere Vitamin E A Grain Of Sand Controlled Experiment short review: This album drawled my attention when users mentioned it in the top 5 neo goa artist topic. So I couldn't resist to check it. Off course I had a quick peak. I've listened to it 3 times with the results that this will be a short review. I didn't had the time to follow trance in 2011 (for the first time) so this release slipt through my hands... Portamento has talent. The beginning of the album reminded me a bit of cosmosis older works because he seems to be a fan off the 303 pattern. Any melody he uses is structured that way and can go from controlled chaos to some melodic madness. To be melodic it isn't that morning at all compared to the goa talent we are passing through the latest years. I think that's a huge value if you want something different If he uses more then 3 different main sounds it'll be much so sometimes you have sustain put then again what he does with his sounds is good. Fast crunchy sounds shifting at a high speed. No long stretched waves but an Constance off overture. The baseline has it's strength as we know it these days but the undertone (the line?), the drive is tuffer and provides a more stubborn atmosphere. Portamento chooses the typical oldschool pattern to categorize his tracks. Each track he goes a bit more insane, faster and chaotic but all combined in a harmonic and controlled concept. This is good goatrance and something different from the blissful straight to the stars morning goatrance like I mentioned before. NO ambient track what is imo good... Good job, a second album will probably do it! And well done Cronomi Records... I'm curious...

A smart dj keeps his secrets for the dancefloor Especially in Belgium with all those goa heads it would be difficult to bring something new I think, considering they all listened to the tracks a thousand times I know, I would

I can't see any causality between a private commitment that has nothing to with psynews and deleting your psynews account... It sucks you're going E-mantra, still respect your choice, keep the music and spirit alive
-
the first post that actually makes sense in this topic! Public flamewars never solve anything, on the contrary... On topic: looking forward to the release, seems good

Best Neo-Goa album in the past five years?
Sideffect... replied to healium's topic in General Psytrance
Thinking afterwards... This compilation will fit you. It's more trippy (darker atmosphere), minimal compared goatrance in that time period with different tones. And it still has that typical goatrance baseline and produciton (not like psychedelic trance) http://www.discogs.c...ca/master/33241 Also check the Flying Rhino Records compilations (some) + Matsuri compilations (some) http://www.discogs.c...g Rhino Records http://www.discogs.c...uri Productions You'll have to search, but if you start a topic about it, you shall get good advice I'm to lazy at the moment
