The fill your head with phantasm series are unique, It's a certain mood I'm into when I chose this type of goatrance. A great concept and a perfect example that simplicity (not to overloaded) can/is be genius... -
Reger, one day, I will kill you, through skype I've assembled one of the top 10 Microsoft programmers, writing a skype plugin only for that purpose... Feeding them only with amphetamines and one hour fresh air a day. Working 24u/24u on 'the clock. The results will be stunning... Your end is near my friend, I advise you to live your life right now at the fullest

Cyan is indeed one of the better, He's often a bit more subtle with his climaxes imo... but when it comes to nithzonot I prefer compilations. One sound the entire album tends to get boring for me. -
Good, I'm still looking for some new psy ambient released in 2012, definitely gonna check this one out

I went for 30 minutes laughing out loud, wanted to see what a big joke he was, and there he was standing on a platform higher then the other artist were with his guitar like a rock star, being ugly like hell... It was comedy Then I got back to my tent on the camping side (waiting for the next live act) with this superior feeling not wondering anymore If I made any bad choices in my live for the next 24 hours. I would say thank you skazi, you're a mirror that creates natural highness I would love to got to hell for that feeling again, money well spent

I hear pretty good, my ears are sensitive. I always have to wear earplugs when I go out to loud parties. It hurts to much... I used to hear pretty good but got some damage along the years (I test my ears each 2 years) So I guess right now I'm hearing good (not very good anymore)

I never was into nithzonot either, they are trying to hard, and it's to obvious (imo). It's good for cleaning the house if you want things to speed up but it makes me nervous If'm listening to it relaxed in my couch... Especially the shiva space stuff... I would advice the pzatzot compilations if I had to chose for nithzonot... -
Best Neo-Goa album in the past five years?
Sideffect... replied to healium's topic in General Psytrance
To my experience that happened just before the millennium and people started calling it psychedelic trance instead of goatrance. And it became mainstream... -
indeed it is , It took me a while before I got it and posted it here, great pic

Best Neo-Goa album in the past five years?

the same, also because I has 2cd's in it, considering I'm alone on an Island stuck with one release, that's a gain -

Same happened to me, when 'out of sight' was released I wasn't into this type of trance either, I wanted melody and power and that's not what they are providing, I had the same problem with tristan, Later on I started appreciating those albums different... -

I used to listen to random tracks only, always the "hits" but stopped doing that, and now listen to full releases as most as possible. It's a task indeed but it has it's positive effect, more like an investment... The problem between quotes is that goa isn't the only genre that I follow, so I don't have the time or sometimes my ears can't follow (warm ) Good call about Freq, they've created a new wind in progressive back then showing that progressive could be full melodic and still be progressive. I like their work. The same goes for electric universe where fullon reached a height in 2004, and the mass production was enormously their fullon kept a certain standard of quality... Shakta is an artist that I have checked many times but I'm always left with that mediocre feeling at the end of an album. Out of sight was totally different and new... -
I've checked that with euhm I don't know the word in english, to connect the wires again, but they are broken very close to the headphones themselves, and It would disturb a lot to have those around my neck... But indeed I should do something with them...

Mindsphere - Patience For Heaven (2012) Patience For Heaven Shape Of Imagination World Is Yours Cosmos Evolution All Alone Ornamentation In To Reality Spirits Of Devotion Patience For Heaven Circled Inner Cyclone Painful Stories Mindrama We Have A Dream Wasted Years Operation Side To Infinity Inner Cyclone Fusion Label: Suntrip Records – SUNCD26 Format: CD, Album & CD, Album, Remastered, Reissue Country: Belgium Released: 17 Oct 2012 Genre: Electronic Style: Goa Trance Links: Suntrip (also listen to previews here) : http://www.suntripre...ase/cat/SUNCD26 Artist info by Last Fm : http://www.last.fm/music/Mindsphere Discogs link (off course) : http://www.discogs.c...release/3964308 Review: For starters Mindsphere has found a great goatrance formula. Not only does he or they know how to use their sounds in an atmospheric way but built it in an euphorically melancholic way that shiffers my spine. I'm very extactic about this release so I'll try to keep it a bit at the downside. Let's start with the first cd what is new for all of us, knowing that the second cd is a remastered version of their debut album released in 2007. The most remarkable thing about the first cd is their melody. They use, should I call it a spiral? It has the pattern of a spiral but very thin and very detailed. Although Mindsphere uses a lot of layers and many sounds, I don't know how, how he does it, but it's doesn't get overloaded at all. It stays very humble in a melodic way and keeps it floating. The attention to detail is remarkable. Each second is thought trough, each sound is well put and the more variation the more pleasure. The release starts with a lower bpm track where Mindsphere introduces the sounds that he'll use to tell his story along the release. Every pattern you will hear, you shall ever heard before in one goatrance album/artist/ep but never combined together in one track as Mindsphere does. And that makes it imo so special. It looks like Mindsphere has it all (considering melodic goatrance off course). The in and outro's are taking cared of so no big surprises or explosions. Everything is very gentle. We have melancholic melodies that last like an entire track, sizzle up and down. We have spirals squealing back creating that Oriental experience. We have long stretched waves that crunch and squeak in a harmonic way. Little goa birds flying all around us Mindsphere doesn't relies on one sound. He shift very fast to other directions to keep you going and does it in style. Like I said it before. It's like he combined all the positive melodic elements ever created in goatrance in one release. The undertone rises often what makes it emotional in a creative way. I'm very, but very fortunate about the baseline. A baseline that changes often, goes faster and slower as we know it. But it's totally not at front. And still it has it's strength. It's strong enough to keep you going don't worry . It's an entire harmony and symphony. I have never heard a release with so many melancholic melodies. Even the atmosphere is. It's a trip. From beginning to end he plays with melodies telling a story using the basic goatrance elements. Creating pauses to breathe, inhale and off you go. This guy knows what he is doing big time!! I know it all sounds a bit euphoric but then again it is euphoric music. It is what it is. I'm glad that after all this years an artist can still surprise me that much. Then again maybe we should get scared and thinking this is it. We have reached the top, who knows (I don't think so) When I listen to this release time flies by. A release never sounded that short still providing the normal amount of minutes. That happens when you are having a good time Inner Cyclone is already reviewed and I'm not going to (use the search). Maybe later but one cd at the time is enough imo. The first cd is already worth it's money. Then again, a short peak, why not After listening to the second cd the re-mastering is well done. That's for sure. The first two tracks are still my favorites of that release. The mode that Mindsphere announces those tracks, stops, announces again, and floats into trance is almost perfect. The choice of sounds is different. He uses more thick layers and it's less detailed compared to patience for heaven. But the melodies are great. I prefer the first release but in this part Mindsphere let's his creativity go pretty wild and you can expect a huge melodic journey. It's more madness compared to the first cd where harmony and gentle is the obvious. The melodies go faster and are not aggressive but more aggressive again compared to the first cd. Together it's goatrance that travels. And that imo, is what goatrance is all about. Travelling through my mind and creating brain activity. Well done Mindsphere, A great contribution to goatrance!

Wow, wow, wow, Was there someone thinking psynews isn't alive that much, We should advertise , or not? Shit happens, so does reality, move on, maybe clean up this thread... My 2 cents about playing live... It's seems impossible to play Goa live, Some artist create trance that can be done live, mostly 'one layer' trance. I've seen rastaliens live and the way they shifted their sound was amazing. I knew all their tracks by head and the sounds that they created were totally different in pattern (not choise) but then again even they could have pre-recorded that. You can play live at home, be very original, totally different then your original tracks, and still only press that play button when you are actual on stage. I've also seen Talamasca live and that wasn't live at all... But he had a good time, and so had the crowd... But then again it shifts, sometimes Talamasca will play live and sometimes he doesn't, depending indeed on the equipment they've got carried with them... If an artist is playing only his music, and adds some effects, it's ok to say 'live' on the flyer even if it doesn't, 90% of the party people don't even notice, so I don't mind... They are still people, and If I was an artist, and I could play live, but have a huge headache that 'play' button would become very seductive. Isn't that a bit normal? You can't change the flyer/line up once it's printed... I would prefer a play button instead of a cancelled button But I understand the frustration, the money variable and the debate...
