I love my sleep, but last night sleep did not come....not one wink....whats worse is that i have now been up 24 hours and have a days work ahead of me....in an engineering workshop, falling to sleep would be dangerous! ........my boss does not believe in having days off....so i'll do what i can...roll on 2pm. tonight, early bed after lavender oil bath...lavender oil on my pillow and hot milk..i will blimmin sleep!

just deleted my whole post..argh.. Cyberpunk in Psy? oh how i;m confused....I see cyberpunks at Techno events...it can be pretty hardcore.... I thought it was a fashion statement, not a genre....so i have been searching for cyberpunk themed music, and keep finding hardcore Techno My link ..but no trance... yet! close? My link

we probably hear everything different...I listen to the whole rather than break it down into bite size chunks.... to do that you would hear elements of everything in every genre.....wizack put out a track where he wanted people to do their own thing with it, my b/f who is a music producer asked and was sent the piece of music...all broken down into pieces in no particular order, everything was there, but it wasnt a tune.....and his challenge is to make it into one..... this can be done with everything... I love MFG and Astral and know their music well....In 2000 i was introduced to the music of IM(classical mushroom and the gathering) I really did not know what to think of it....It was totally different ...it took me a while and many plays for me to get used to the style....i never once thought to myself*O this sounds like*.... because it didnt.... I can listen to new djs/producers now and can hear where their influences came from...and many do copy IM. but not AP or MFG.

of course it comes down to taste....the worst thing a party can do tho..is, put a brilliant band of musicians on in the middle of a psy night who bring the tempo down....that has happened at 2 gigs i have been to recently..both bands are, in their own right, excellent...but put in either the wrong slot, or the wrong room! i wont mention names, that wouldnt be fair.... I wonder if they have heard of Goacore? i must ask them(to put us back on subject!)

I agree Tatsu, i have Astral projection and MFG and neither sound like IM....plus! IM came AFTER both those bands....now there are a lots of soundalikes around who take elements of IM and make them their own,,eg Rastaliens early stuff., and they do it well...

he cant MC to save his life...there again, if it was up to me..MC-ing would be banned outright! they spoil decent tunes and i want to bash them over the heads with their mics. seriously.

I have never heard the genre GoaCore before? I have been into psy since 95/96 and all this *core* business has actually only recently been used... it was just plain old psytrance back then....over the years its split into genres......i suppose to make it easier for DJs to categorize their stuff according to the times they are playing ....afterall i wouldnt want darkforestpsy at the start of an evening, it would be wrong.... who would wanna hear morning trance at midnight??? Its all gone a bit silly imo.....

I doubt very much Duvdev will ever stop singing, it makes him happy....unfortunately the mute button on his vocal chords appears to be broken and we have to suffer for it...I love IM, but i love IM remixes by others even more because theres no singing in it... (BUT...i dont mind guest vocals by others....sometimes.... ie jonathon of Korn, because i like ¬Korn...)

We all hear music differently i reckon......I find it very difficult to explain what it is or isnt about music i like or dislike...i just know that some really gets me and some leaves me cold as custard.... I like music that rolls like waves..so there is a constant ebb and flow...so D&B is out.....do not get it whatsoever...its alien and not music at all(to me) just odd rhythms and distorted beats... yet i quite like dubstep(which is odd rhythms and distorted beats?) go figure...!! my true music love will always be metal! (not really what i should be saying as i host a psytrance radio station! lol)

hard to say what it was with me as music over the decades seems to morph...i could say kraftwerk as they blew my mind, yet i'm sure electronica has been in many things before...i always loved the sound of moog and korg from the prog metal days(Curved Air and Yes o and probably space rock too...as in hawkwind) , and late 60s early 70s concept albums.....(White noise and Alan Parsons project.....) each and every thing i have listened to has been an influence toward something else...tho how i got from heavy metal to Rap&Hiphop to psy trance& techno to dub and dubstep..i have no idea! lol

i'm thinking of going to bed soon, just finishing off my pear cider.
