  1. well, are we thinking it of where the artist was born? or where they make their music? example - Darkpsy born in France but has produced his music in Portugal and he has that Portuguese sound.
  2. ^ yes, that! I hope I didn't come off the wrong way cuz I didn't mean to.
  3. sweet! Makes me happy to hear of your story 8) and killer artwork! come to NY or North Caroline this year for 2 more festivals ;D message me if you must. and yeah, who played? artists or djs incase we recognize some?
  4. its all good. Im glad you did as such even if most arent my cup of tea. as for your spoiler parts.. Track 22 guess
  5. I'll just give myself 2 or 3 points depending how you want to grade me on 39. I pat myself on the back for 32 haha! That label has THAT sound. hell, could make a new thread of sorts about that topic. this was hard, I heard very few of these before. possibly more but most of this psy for me could belong in the "what you hate about full-on thread" ;p so it just enters one ear and out the other. glad to have participated. a few surprises on artist ID's thanks for the game ;D
  6. yeah, thats the one! Mandala - Astralia ep!
  7. I have two of their releases with an acid flavor. Instant Zen and Astralia ep's man those are some good tracks! energetic and blissful.
  8. Truthfully, with all the advice (or none) being thrown at Radi, no matter what thread he posts, he's going to get bombarded by the other users here. Now c'mon with that! I like everyone here and getting into the topics after returning to this forum after a few years away has been enjoyable. I seen how some threads can get rediculous too. Anyone that goes out of their way to not be productive in Radi's thread (mainly or anyone elses), you need to change too. Stop the BS everyone! It's kind of killing it for me. We're a small group as is in the world so why single someone out who loves the music as much as we do. It's really easy to just ease up. all together now, please 8)
  9. I used to like that Astrix track and guitar tracks in general. Take away the guitar and the sounds aren't too bad, but it needs a lead to replace the guitar climaxes. As for SUN Project - man! still killer! I think the best examples of guitars in the scene is their '380 Volt' track where they appear often. it goes with the bass and rhythm of the song so well. '4-7 days' is a good example of that too but not as potent quitars. another awesome thing about SUN Project - take away guitars from their music and they are SO psychedelic. trippy, organic alien groovage ;O on the same level of weirdness as Toi Doi for me. back to horrible psy.. wasn't it both Hypersonic and Paranormal Attack which had horrible guitar tracks?
  10. my early days of discovering the music, I had more Astral than anything. I was still almost exclusively listening to them even when I found new stuff. It would be harsh to say I'm "over" them but the reality, more good music was found. From that, more good music needed to be discovered ;p They will always remain an importance to me.
  11. I corrected my first post. I meant that Amen was a good album and Ten, althought remixes, was ok. Remixes kind of turn me off unless done very differently. Still, was an ok album. yes, that song should be the poster child for how good melodies are done. Aurora Borealis is also real solid. It's so nostalgic playing some of these now ;p
  12. good question and I wondered that before too. The two big examples for me is Russia and the darkpsy but also the South Africans with their dirty powerful sound, ahah! I think S.African is more.. I dont want to say random but different with their psy sound. Distortion scatchy effects. The Israeli's defiantely are more melodic when the music is good and not cheesey. Swedish psychedelics tend to be clear and overall good production with melodies and really enjoyable sound. For that I think of Tellus 2, S>Range, Logic Bomb and Miraculix. The Portuguese would be hardest to describe but to me I've felt a distinct sound comes from there as well. More so a combination of the others. Edgy effects, frenetic speed, clear enjoyable leads with maybe a touch of dark (which gives the twilight appeal). all in all, it fascinates me. 8)
  13. is that a new one from them? I don't recognize the name. My mind is thinking of the sample "the power of technology" but I forget which of their older songs has that in their. Is that what you mean? Aqua Line Spirit for me is their most emotional song. The intensity of Powergen is good too. That is one of the first songs I introduced to friends when making mixed goa cds.
  14. Me! Me! Right here, me! I like psytrance ;D they are in North Carolina which is right under Virginia 8) I will finally get to meet them at 2 festivals this year after knowing Shoom for almost 10 years and Bloodwing a little less 8) Penoptes & Veracohr - I thought you two were out of the country. cool to know! where in NY are you? I'm upstate in Saratoga Springs. Will you be attending any events this year? as for the thread topic - I feel way more people at least appreciate electronic music now than when I was even first getting into goa/psy 10-11 years ago. I'd hate to say dubstep helped more recently but I mean, even if it is mainstream trance people listen to.
  15. yo Rich! Well first, Im curious why you are interested in the US perspective on Astral Projection. I still dont own any of their albums but have loves all their albums up to Amen. I liked Ten when it was new and I might still. It's been a while since I heard their tracks. I still have a folder with many of their songs. for favorites? There were many but I loved the intensity 'Another World' track had. it was very alien and darker than their rest. Virtual Booster is sweet! Liquid Sun. many of them 8)
  16. I actually dont own any of their cds. by time I started collecting, they already took that downward spill in the music. so, since then, they have been out of my mind ;p I have liked their stuff loads in the past.
  17. ah, cool to read this just now. 8) I was hoping it would cause people to look up songs I used or re-listen to the albums. that specific song 'E-Mc2' - Im a little sick of that one but used it because I felt it was the most well-known on the album. 'Renaissane Superman' is probably my favorite. as for what i also hate about full-on now-a-days.. when songs do a sound like this. like a vibration vvrt vrrt. the lead pushes in waves or something. there are artists that do this sound to the extreme which i cant think of now, but I bumped into this album this mornning since I loved Prosper's first album. some of these samples are 'ok' http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/exp/exp1cd005.html
  18. always interested! ;D besides them being fun, these games either help me to remember song names or introduce me to new music entirely. a win win ;p
  19. did you have the rockin' 80's mullet too? ;p
  20. whaaaa! I never knew of this ambient album...? (hunts it down ) edit: Discogs is the best ;D
  21. Mine aren't like I'm 'head in the clouds' level of peakness, but just really happy. I will get to that peak point some day depending who I see. This past may I saw Southwild for the 3rd time and I been a fan of him since Rastaliens act in 2003 music I came across. I only remember stopping to dance once when this woman to my left and I connected and share psy dances with one another and she eventually passed me a drink 8) we became friends since then. She was the real trooper, being at the dancefloor for at least 18hours. the next day was the last day and I was super happy to dance to some prog with a group of people I met that night and hung out at the fire-pit with. smiles and easier grooving. what a party ;D
