  1. hahaha, thanks! ;D Man, I'm loving this site more and more everyday. You all somehow have superb talent in providing the right gif when needed. Am I missing out on a site that gives you exactly what you're looking for if you type a word in? Anyways, really funny. 8)
  2. I like this idea! 8) If ever I get around to another one, I will include compilations and varying years as well.
  3. I love his work! His first album 100% Pure Brainwater was kind of boring. Looking at my list, Weird Sound Generator is the only one I don't have. Thought I bought all his releases.. I cannot remember if I got around to listening to Psionic Renegades yet...(I sometimes buy more cds than I have time to listen to ;O) - All the other albums I looooved! Recently got Sacred Scars finally and OOO MMM GGG! Such a solid album! 'Bad Name' on there I didn't care for due to the samples. Bon Jovie song was it? Other than the one album, I also do not have or have heard his digital only releases. EP's or this album http://www.junodownload.com/products/too-loud-for-the-cloud/1755706-02/ and yes, Structural Failure is good... and so is this one ;D I wonder what was actually playing at this deranged party. It may scare me to be there ;O
  4. haha! making me laugh. I like laughing ;p Yes. The attitude behind the music then was different. A revival wasn't happening, but a new movement. The artists, just..WERE. 8) here is a snippet to a post of mine in the ID 50 psy tracks thread I made. Part of my reply to psy sounding the same. "I would say it is easier for psy to sound the same because its as if a structure had to be the set 'this is how you make psytrance" when the early goa days, with the scene being smaller, the artists just... did it" I had the same meaning behind that. The goa music now only exists because of the old. Inspiration drawn from it, being different than just a part of it during the origins. Whether trying to mock it or really create your own within the same universe. I guess you'd have to ask each new school artist on that. Most of us here appear to like the new wave. I'm partially keen on it but only a little so, no hiding that. It's totally cool! Some of us get more from it than others and that's just how it is. Above all, lets be positive about it. Quality music is still all around us. ^_-
  5. YES! I AGREE! The trailer for the game with its serious content and music backing it up, is what got me interested in this game. Then I got the game and it delivered on that. I do love the soundtrack very much ;D
  6. I voted 6. I was much lower than that a lot of my "so far adult" life in the 20's years (27 now) - but this year I feel in the middle so far with fun plans I will be having in the summer. Traveling to festivals and finally meeting long-time internet friends and psyaddicts. Doing nothing inbetween really gets me down. Im the outdoors guy with nothing to do and working nights doesnt help. but yeah, this thread is sad. GROUP HUG PEOPLE! (commences hugging)
  7. Well for the first example given.. Filteria definately sounds like Filteria. He has way more going on in one song than Etinca did. The question at hand is a good one though. I want every artist to sound uniquely different to warrant my purchase, but more importantly, my satisfaction while listening. When I hear something sound too much the same, it goes in one ear and out the other. The 7-8 minute track goes by and I'm like, "what?" I zone out and never notice the music. Happens a lot to me. Even if the track is really intense. Goa or Psy. Artists - Please find your own way to funk the music, to funk us in return. Thank you.
  8. Haha! I see what you mean ;p I too loved the first 1200 mics cds. but with this statement, lets all just say it together now.. "f*ckin hippies!" 8) jk - I love all people ^_- and to add to the convo - I think Doof was the best with samples. Mmhmm 'Let's Turn On' and 'Youth of the Galaxy' anyone?
  9. I'm not trying to make this a difficult decision and go against favorites - but for me, old goa and the psy (full-on) that followed it are on the SAME level of love for me. I will never choose one over the other. the feelings and smiles they bring me are through the same passion. classic goa & full-on psy>suomi when done right>ambient when it clicks with my brain the way ambient should>classic acid trance> some darkpsy also with full-on - I thought I favored the twilight for a while but really, any of the banging tunes from the S.African crew/Portugese artists can bring me the same sensations as good songs from the talented Israeli bunch or whoever that doesn't get dark and mental, but melodic. a golden Vic Shefi track can do the same for me as Chris Hoy and his crew.
  10. yes, superb way to put it! ;D there were a few songs here and not added that I remember them well from their moments before the melodies, but didn't add them because I know they wouldn't of worked out for guessing. Hate to say they would of sounded 'generic' psy. ;p Wow! I applaud your ear talent then ;p The dark is definately harder for me to see artists distinguishing themselves. Often Im still hearing the same squelch and fart sounds just done up differently. The super fast bpm stuff I cant do. but Dark Nebula, some Parasense and those within limits, totally dig it!
  11. I'm glad you enjoy it for sure 8) I do like slower music when Im in a melancholic mood. lounge music isn't for me. it has this disco feel for me. the mental music I like for a slower mood is ambient or certain space music which is much more minimal. or good examples could be slower tracks on old Electric Universe albums. busier than some ambient but they get the job done.
  12. You had me excited... then I listened to the samples. I can't get into that style music like I can actual ambient music or some chillout and space dreams music. slow, long drawn out atmosphere and trickles of notes in and out, here and there. Sometimes just one solid note for minutes on end. really spacey music. this is a groovey experience for a shop to sit back and drink coffee with. cool, but it doesn't jive with my mind. I'll vote with my wallet and pass.
  13. you and I have to thumb wrestle to see who comes out on top. ready? GO!
  14. oh snap! I would say it is easier for psy to sound the same because its as if a structure had to be the set 'this is how you make psytrance" when the early goa days, with the scene being smaller, the artists just... did it ;D I do like to point out that when these tracks were out, the goa/psychedelic we all know and love, wasn't as old as those psy tracks are now. 9 and 10 years old. how many of the goa tracks posted in various threads here were 6-8 years old when these psy tracks came out? not many appear from 93/94. interesting eh? ^_- so those oldie psy tracks are now like the old is gold goa. I need to brush up on it all. constantly buying cds this year helps me to never replay other ones ;O
  15. I was going to be a smartass and say "maybe like his facebook page and leave a comment..?" ;p but you shall save your money until this, Radi ;D http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php/topic/66440-psychaos-records/?p=1016686
  16. Not many guesses from me. I knew some in the beginning so lets see how I am with the names..ones without track names I felt sounded like the artist. 1 point - YES! funny I couldnt guess 3 ;p since it was in mine as well ;p
  17. Sure, same point system. I meant to say in my first post to score points however you like ;p Well done! I kind of wish I didnt make this one because I want to know how I would of scored.. again, my points would of came from artists guesses mainly. My mental library needs some brushing up ;p oooohh man! I will suck at that one but am looking forward to it! I dont know many dark artists. I might just guess the same one for each track, haha! Im glad you got 28 I wanted to put that one somewhere around then because of the crazyness before it ;p
  18. omg you're the best! that banjo behind the scenes chat was awesome! I'll watch the rest another time. sleep is needed haha
  19. d.leerium, did you happen to ask someone at the party what kind of music was playing to see if you would get some kind of answer? I wonder if you were just hearing a lot of progressive type music or prog psy..? but even then it shouldn't of been that bland at each party. I sometimes find some dark psy minimal cuz as you said, it can turn out to be just bass and effects. no leads and melody. full-on styles can do the same too and they bore me to death. If you come across this sound, post a link so we can hear it. I've heard all types of PSY at parties but still, no oldschool or goa of any kind. this year, that will change with the parties I plan to attend ;D Are you in the US? if so - message me or say here and we should tag-team an event! I have 3 planned for me currently. oh, and to answer an earlier question - Yes REAL psychedelic parties still exit. take care, friend!
  20. To answer the thread question.. that's an easy choice for me ;D funny you say that because I will never EVER shut up about this one ;p I finally uploaded it to Youtube since it only existed in the Goa Gil mixes on there. WAAAAAAA!
  21. Darshan - Energy Trace 100% Darshan Style, 100% psychedelic style and 100% awesome! Fat 9's from me ;D That compilation may be the last one I bought from Chaos Unlimited before they closed. May they rest in peace ;( just posted this in the bassline thread but here it is again! I'd like to know other people's thoughts. the grooviest track I know ;O
  22. Basslines huh? check this one! the narliest groove I know ;O
  23. First I wanted to say that I'm glad these ID games got started. Years ago I had ideas to make videos of all the awesome parts in songs. have them be like a series of 'why I love it psychedelic' or something. maybe one day when I stop side-tracking I will do it and have it be similar to this. wow! you have some good guesses too 8) except for #9, haha! sounds like you may be really unfamiliar with that awesome album? if so I can help wink wink ;D Its a crucial album! oh no! but yes, that is oldschool of you ;p If any of those samples really spoke to you, let me know which. one good thing about these years is it was as I've mentioned around the boards before - a golden age. usually the entire cd kicked ass! so if you like one sample, you might like the entire album. Get at me ;D a few samples in here are from what I feel hidden gem albums. not many at all know the 'other guys' when the big names also were around.
  24. so happy to see Banjo Kazooie posted ;D I was thinking of it. Thats the very first game soundtrack I owned as a kid. Maybe once did I ever listen to the entire cd. I just know I wanted it ;p still probably have it stored away someplace. but yeah, the whole game has good music. Rare was the shiznit back on N64. Banjo, Perfect Dark and Jet Force Gemini are my 3 favorites on the system.
  25. yes - definately awesome thread to find! now a big question that may make me freak out.. was the goatrance.free website the one with snazzy colors and had Cosmosis - Key to Innerverse playing in the backround? I had that link saved for the longest time and still do in a note memo file. it was a site I stumbled upon a few times when getting into the music 11 years ago. search engines would take me there ;p if thats the same site then COOL but crazy to just now find out I was still sort of connected to Psynews back then
