What do you do to help the world discover Psytrance?
K-BAN replied to FatKidWitAJetPak's topic in General Psytrance
I made friends mixed cds but its not like they dug further into it. I just continue to play it loud in my car. Maybe it catches the right ear and that person must seek it out and never look back. ^_-- 14 replies

now THAT is a rmx! I hate when artists barely change anything up. it seams like they just want to slap their name on a classic track for recognition. But this, THIS, is supreme! Never heard it til now. where have I been??? ;p the one rmx I would give people an example to my arguement (though its pretty much a remake, not rmx) is Prana - Taiyo (Chakra rmx) - what a doozy! I haven't actually thought about it before but.. it HAS been a long time for only just a 3rd album from Simon. I guess that says how incredibly relevant his first 2 albums still are. Maybe his 3rd album will carry us for 10+ years too ;O

that first sentence, bravo! Thats exactly how I havent been able to get my thoughts out before. All genres of the psychedelic have been suffering from it. With relation to the next sentence in the quote, I think YES. but it still is up to the artists to define their sound which also defines it for us. To where I can pick up and play the cd, or be at a party and know who Im hearing. Not sure about groundbreaking. Im always promoting this song but if artists tried something similar to Manmademan's BRILLIANT 'Deliverance' track - sure! but also dabble in some over your head ambient chillout music. then again, this all takes time and such albums may never come out - haha! I have liked some Kindzadza in the past but I really find it hard to listen to that super random glitchy twitchy music some dark artists go for. its not like Im hearing a horrible popmusic and I crawl onto the floor foaming at the mouth, I can listen to it but it is SO far from catching my interest. the tracks can be played back to back and you would never know they changed. completely random.

also, if anyone can post where to purchase the music from these artists, please do so. Im now trying to dig around and find some and cant. I will pursue ;p

Talpa's first album - The Art of Being Non - sounds A LOT like Infected Mushroom - when they were still good atleast ;p but that came out 9-ish years ago. I've no idea what they are like now... ooo! there is something about this I like. smart psytrance. not going too crazy but it waits until showing you its magic. WOW! Im now in-love with Chaos Synthetics! Thanks for that and I will purchase their music. that first one you shared especially - to me sounded like taking a handful of darkpsy, the Prodigal Sun albums (AWESOME!) and a pinch of goa, throwing it into a synth-blender 8)) I've also been a fan of Cybernetika for years and we used to chat. He is on these boards too. Coincidence seeing your recommendation since I left a comment on his YT channel 3 weeks ago when I discovered it. for the thread starter.. I discovered some good full-on earlier in the year. please give it a shot! I say it's back to its roots with melodies and energy. good craftsmanship and sound to the tracks. somewhere full-on started to get boring when everyone was doing it. It become psytrance for dummies where as long as there was a bassline and "psy" sounds you did it, yay! artists didnt distinguish themselves. WELL - I think Nemesis is doing a fine job. tracks arent on youtube so try these samples. I like 'Wormhole' the most. support this guy and hope to see more by 'em. http://www.psyshop.com/shop/Downloads/ddc/ddc1dw045.html

Old school gems deserving a remastering : list them
K-BAN replied to Manuser's topic in General Psytrance
what a coincidence - I was just listening to Imperial Project tracks from his Cygnetic albums. I wasn't sure how much I had from the "Goa Syndrome" days but I did find that track and another one on my old computer. I may need to make a thread to ask anyone who has all that music, to share. It was so great they were free downloads back then. -
I've been a member of DI.FM since 2003. if you feel like accessing their forums, you must now enter into your browser forums.di.fm or old.di.fm since they recently redisigned the site and it no longer links to the community. This can help you find possible tracklists for mixes if a tracklist was provided.

DJs/Producer Flow & personality behind the decks?
K-BAN replied to Shpongled247's topic in General Psytrance
I think it helps when the dj/artist is going mad on stage. it helps me feel the energy if I catch a glimpse of them. when the music is good anyways, i'm flailing around too much to gape in awe at them ;p I've seen Artifakt get a little crazy. Jay from Rastaliens/Southwild gets down at times but even just seeing him motion his arms to the music at the right times was great too ;p A dj buddy of mine Wild Wes likes to groove on stage and makes me happy haha! -
yep! I like 'The Miracle Man' because to me, that psytrance was a different way of thinking/listening just like Logic Bomb was. Not on the same scale but close. Psydrop - Fantasy Seeds album is so superb as well, only this time delivering energetic full-on. Each track very different from the others. Oh 2003, how I've missed you ;p this right here is a description used on the Hypersonic - Larger Than Life single on Psyshop "Yoni has a long successful music career as a Psy Trance artist and previously released two solo Psy Trance albums under a different act name and two more artist albums, co written with another Israeli guy under a different name but due to legal problems we are not allowed to reveal those Names. Figure it out for your selves!" I can't remember if reading this back in 2005 led me to dig into it, finding out it was Psydrop.. but I thought it was through another way.. whichevs ;p

I like 'The Magic Spell' found here\ http://www.psyshop.com/shop/Downloads/ptr/ptr1dw077.html and old Mandra Gora tracks. search the YouTubez ;p

Real goa trance that doesn't sound too serious (Alienated-Free return)
K-BAN replied to Manuser's topic in General Psytrance
I'm putting my money on it.. THIS IS PSYGONE! well, same guy. does anyone have the release to see if it lists the artist name? thats for sure him. I looked it up when my ears were going all Lassie on me and it would make sense.. the release is on Hypnotic records which Psygone had a deal with and his tracks appeared there. On into the rabbit hole further and I forgot he has a website AND released new tracks in 2008! my how the years went by on that one ;p I remember waiting for them haha! I will give a listen and purchase all I can from him. He is the biggest reason I'm into goa/psy by accident for 11+ years now. omg, yes! thank you! I would inject Slide into my veins if I could ;OO Play UX - Ultimate Experience album and its crazy how much of Pete Martin's sound permeates into that album as well. ALSO! Something about the 'Alien Hitman' track reminded me of Cyndonia which caused me to look them up on Discogs and find this funny photo ;p definately awesome track and definately one of the funkiest. I was going to suggest Green Nuns- Klunk but up above Manuser says they are familiar with the artist. WHAAAAAAT! I hope you put that album on repeat! killer track you just introduced me to. thanks! a part of it reminds me of the Green Nuns I got so excited I forgot to post my suggestion. lets go all the way back to '94 with some old Johann Bley. I first heard this for the other day actually and been addicted. this track changes so much. many varying feelings and energies. this is from the re-release in 2011. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qg8NMz0rRDE -
SO HARD TO CHOOSE! I think I will go with Boris. I would birth children from either of them.. if I could ;p haha!
-
its funny to see this video now after what I hinted at in my previous post in another thread about the Israeli scene. the wording here I feel was taken from my past conversations with friends so you and I think alike ;p for Hypersonic, he was so good under the Psydrop name. loved those albums/comps! btw - is Astrix even still around? (searches)

not an easy choice but I picked Portugal. Audialize, Suria, Menog and a few others display a passion for their unique sound and energy. Smart psytrance for the mind. Australia for their madness and South Africa for the many guys down there making some bonkers music. Israel was strong at the start of the millenium but their artists tend to go.. commercial in a pop or rock way ;p WHY?! an ugly blending of genres. I do love my frenchies like Nomad and Absolum, each finding the hardest sounds to hit you and distort it. heck, all the countries have good psy!
-
I was happy to see something else in NY BUT - looking at it I'm not interested in the music..
-
Tatsu, not sure if you are looking for newer released music but heres one in mind I played the other day. its borderline what my ears allow me to hear ;p some good energy and bliss throughout the album. a tad less cheese than your 3rd submission. http://www.goastore.ch/opium-of-the-masses-the-lost-planet.html

I cant even imagine that ;O cool! as for the arguing/hate up above - cut it out please. either you are children that will grow up or adults that should know to stop or not do it at all. Kind of kills the mood for me when looking through here.

I definately need more ambient in my collection and will refer back to this thread. Thank you all! The last ambient/chill release I bought was Dhamika - Floating EP and I really enjoy it. EDIT: EVERYTHING IS ON YOUTUBE NOW-A-DAYS! ;p here's my favorite of the 3 songs on that EP titled 'Snowflake' the part at 2:17 strikes pure bliss for me

for the most part that is me as well. very aware of my surroundings and moving around people or out of their way. Im always trying to mimic the song with movements. I just feel thats what I must do. Its the music moving me.

If I'm home with music, I typically wish I was hearing it live since I'll choose a cd to play that I find f*ckin dope! I also wish I could share that moment with certain friends. that's basically it for that scenario. While at a party, If people see me dancing as hard as I do enjoying myself, I wish they would join in so the whole place would be mad. Or that people come up to me after and we talk our psychedelic trance histories. that is always fun

when you think you are dancing hard, it's probably not hard enough. now my legs are wrecked from the other day. SWEET! 8) acknowledge another dancer with an arm movement when you cross eyesight. later one one of you will start a conversation and you have a brand new friend. maybe even take a second to introduce yourselves on the dancefloor, then continue sharing the dancefloor. if it starts to rain and some sort of roof is above you, go dance out in the rain. I made a new friend that way the other day when we had the same idea at the same time. and seeing as others gave advice not on the dancefloor... hang out by the fire-pit which probably exists somewhere at the party. more friends to be made there.

Experiment - introduce a girl to Manmademan - Deliverance. If she loves it too, thats a keeper! My closest friend who passed away was a girl who would listen to goa mix cds I made her. She would even dig through my digital library and pick stuff out. She was the best soul-sister you could ask for. 8/ Finding a girl that likes anything in the psychedelic trance genre is good enough for me. Even better when you spot her dancing hard to it. I was at a party this weekend and saw/chatted with several such girls.
