Well I have the latest version of Firefox with the security settings relatively high. FF remembers my passwords while IE does not for some reason.

For some reason I am not able to view the forum with Firefox. I can view it just fine in IE, but when I try to log in with Firefox I get a blank page. I'm not sure if this has something to do with the new skin or not.

On other forums they would say that you've 'necroed' this thread. They don't really do that at Psynews...

I think the volume maximazation has changed the vibe to focus on the bassline. You have many choices in mastering and they wanted to fit with today's music in genre. Sounds good, but I would have had the BL a little lower.

Yep, your right! It is nothing like the 1990's and was never supposed to be. The article is wrong in stating that raves were re-branded in the 2000s, it was the mid 1990's in Minnesota that they started calling them "parties" and the second one that I ever went to was in the St Paul armory (a big public dome downtown). Jazz, rock, and rap to some extent have all been sanitized to be sold to a larger audience. Music history is something that interests me, I find it fascinating.

I should add - associations with one word descriptions are the real problem in music. "rave" and "trance" are two of them.

...and it's a good thing. "trance" is a dumb name for a boring type of music. The article is a broad view of all electronic music not to be pigeonholed into one of a billion genres.
