    W (The movie)

snicker I love reviews like this
  2. West World :named after an old movie I like a lot.
  3. Well, at 4:50 one song ends and another begins.... Pretty standard for trance nowadays, I'm embarassed to say I sort of like trance at all. I will always like Astral though because they made it on mp3.com years ago and I have nostalgia. *confusing post, I'm sorry
  4. Nowdays I just play it on my lappy and plug the headphone out into my Y connector to the 3,4 channels of my fasttrack. Simple simple
  5. I think this is WAY too complex here, the kids are gonna be looking around for some direction when this hits the needle. Also, you go through a lot of trouble to dis a sound I don't know anyone that listens to. chill
  6. Ah, will try this. Noticed Cyanide is on this page - I've been using that since I got a tip late last year.
  7. Right, I think 'jumpstyle' is just the evolution of happy hardcore or Happy 'aaaardcore.
  8. Just to let you know, my favorite comp. this year: "Integral" - from netlabel miga The first cd is interesting, but the second cd is great.
  9. So at what point is d'n'b dubstep and vice versa? Just got 187's old "Quality Rolls" album (1998) and am lovin it. Isn't that like dubstep? Don't listen to either enough to know.
  10. Trance-dance music theory :clapping: some people here are really, really into this shit
  11. On sunday I read an article about A Guy Called Gerald and he was saying how important it is to stay simple- don't let the technology get in the way of your music-making process. I agree to this completely and have found that the most important thing in music making is the flow (of ideas). In the last 18 months I've watched a lot of videos of producers in their studios and one thing I deffinately got out of it was that I should always start with the fundamentals (rythem/beat) and go from there; even in mixdown you start with the most important aspect of a song. I believe one of the reasons that artists make worse stuff later on in their careers is because that take themselves too seriously. So yea, +1 here. P.S. that's an insane amout of duplicate files!
  12. Same story A truism of invention/innovation is that if a new idea is not sufficiently better then the idea that it would replace, the people will not adopt it. The music industry has created several formats better then the standard cd audio format (that dates from 1982). CDHD was introduced in the 1990's as an improved audio format with 20bit playback and backwards compatability to standard cd players. It went nowhere. DVD audio was introduced in 1999 and offered the inclusion of 5.1 surround sound and 48kHz sample rate. It was abandoned. I believe that flash memory is better then cd audio as well simply because it cannot scratch or skip. They are already selling car audio decks with usb inputs and it wound be simple to update hifi systems with an input for flash sticks. But...you probably already know where this is going. Christopher
  13. Well, I'm outa here. Too much to do IRL anyway!
  14. I'm up to 7.2ms with a buffer of 384 right now. Some features of Sonar need more buffer, like Roland V-Vocal.
  15. Mars, I thought you should know about THIS PAGE I discovered while trying to get onto psynews yesterday. Anonymous login is a sure sign of hacker activity. I seems someone definately doesn't like this site. I guess I'll be around less now.
  16. I woundn't get m-audio monitors. I like my Samson Rubicons.
  17. Spent the last two days fooling around with settings in Sonar... I managed to get 5.8ms latency using AISO drivers on my new gear. I may have to increase it for complex work though What are other people getting around here with different equipment?
  18. Did you know midisport is made by m-audio? (they started out only selling midi interfaces, then changed their name when they sold different gear). I did have problems with the midisport ...until I updated the drivers. Just downloaded the latest drivers - I will find out if your right later today
  19. I knew someone in Minneapolis that had one of these...16kg! Good thing I never tried to pick it up. VSTs have killed the price of these and the economy is bad now too.
  20. This thread is bullshit, tuning has nothing to do with audio dynamics. Dynamics = spectrum of frequencies used. Tuning = the note of a particular fequency ie middle C is 440 (western tuning tradition only) I learned that the Boston Simphony Orchestra tunes there instuments slightly high since they are known for their 'bright' sound...
  21. M-Audio Fast Track Ultra Link anyone want to buy a midisport uno?
