  1. Just last night I watched a video of a producer using Abelton. He was using it "as a scratch pad" on his laptop then he took what he did and transfered all the tracks to Cubase so he could isolate them on buses but that still wasn't the end! He had to cut out all the silent parts in Cubase and do some cool timestretching and he said that he didn't export the output of Cubase because the effects weren't good he had a Yamaha Os1 console that he recorded into and used its effects. He was a hardcore producer and I sware he looked like he was on speed - just frenetic - probably just like Resnik. He was good though.
  2. Ooo Aah! Beautiful pictures pixie! I especially like the fireworks.
  3. Front 242 U-men Geography - the only cd I can listen to multiple times straight
  4. I know I don't like where the mod wheel is. I haven't seen one in person yet, but I still think my next hardware purchase will be a moogerfoger analog delay.
  5. I have been using it for years. It is the standard by which I judge all other softsynths. It is easy to use, has quick right-click midi learn for all moduals and sounds great. Additionally [thankfully] it has presets for classic synths like the SH-101, moogs, etc. I have to admit I usually just use the presets since it is daunting to start from scratch with a modular setup and there is no limit to what you can do eighter. I don't have the latest version. They made it nicer looking and added a few moduals but still the same.
  6. Check out VAZ Modular As a standalone or vsti it is great.
  7. I was a hardware tinkerer first. Perhaps like kraftwerk I was not trained in music but had a fascination with synthesizers. I liked all the pop from the 1980s that had the Roland synth lines :posford: So the software boom has mostly passed me by. I now have Sonar and for the first time arrange on my computer but I can't comprehend those that started on software and had nothing else.\ As for the crappy music it is old old old. People have been making 90 something percent crap since they were hitting rocks together !! Software is just a new tool, nothing more. And yea, it sucks wading through all the crap to find something you like.
  8. +1 Yea, my home computer has the ultimate firewall - no internet.
  9. Awesome and probably the only way to play classics like the modular moog 55, multimoog, and memory moog. Although there is nothing like the feel of turning a big old knob and hearing the filter sweep sloooooooooooooly at your touch
  10. The final analysis for me is that it is not good enough to be 9 minutes long. You eighter need to cut the length to 7min or put in a melody that 'ties it all together' so to speak. It has no unity in general, good sounds, but it isn't a jouney. 5/10 - average
  11. Nice shots! Wherever you went looked nice. Was that in summer - so cold here.
  12. That's for macs, I have a pc. I'll check yours devious.
  13. Sounds good so far - nice sample.
  14. Yea, there're releasing an improved Prophet 5 called the 08. Read about it in Future music. Novemer 16th is the release date.
  15. I want to save/backup patches onto the computer. Just need a good program to recieve a midi dump on a pc.
  16. I just checked the demo and couldn't figure out how to assign knobs to Edirol knobs. Sounds good, looks good too, but this is a sticker.
  17. Is phosycon easy to assign controlls to? like just right click? If it is, I'm getting it.
  18. Cybernetika - Medical/Science Complex (system shock remx)
  19. Listened again ...and frankly I'm dissapointed. You didn't put in a subliminal message telling people to take the red pill and revolt against their oppressors. You'll have to redo this I'm sorry. But keep this as a back up and when the gov asks to see the masters give this to them and they'll let it go. Got it? Good
