It looks like a good choice to me. You don't have to adust to weighted keys when switching to piano and that is a big big deal. If you learn on nonweighted it is hard to play regular pianos. I have seen this model in shops and it does feel solid (hence the price). So yea I would recommend.

As long as it doesn't flash colors like Resnik's avator.

Certainly the best way to learn is by doing! And I know you can see the potential that Cubase has. I did the some thing with Sonar earlier, I made a farely simple track to start. Most of it was just a sound from my little phatty. You would probably call it hardcore I don't know. Now I am into stuff I have to automate like hell. It takes much longer and sometimes I wonder if it is wearth it. Just finnished a 'cyberpunk' style track

Eat Static is a Rave act from the oldschool days, not a psytrance act. However they are awesome. It does take awhile to truely appreciate them as they do not copy popular styles and in fact have been quite influential as a result. The new cd is a great cd, not as good as their best cds, but it will still challenge for the best cd of 2007. I don't want to review individual tracks as I feel it was made to be an album length listen 9/10.

If I had the money I would definitely get a degree in music because these are the types of questions you can debate for hours. In music overall, it is the song that is #1 most important. I have heard this from labels so their is consensus here. In electronic and specifically trance sound quality is almost as important. It is the nature of trance music to demand high sound quality both because of past expiriences and because of the mood of the music.

That flash format is great. I think it will catch on and printed magazines will become rare(er). Goa is too small to have a whole printed magazine for it, I am suprised anyone would try that.

It all depends on how much you are willing to spend in the end. If you just wanted a controller - don't have much money - get a little controller. If you want better keys, some on-board ROM get a synth with a usb output so you can use it as a controller aswell. I like the novation Nemo mentions. They make some good stuff IMHO. I think anyone should get at least 49 keys to practice playing on it and get better.
