  1. completely-lacking-in-dynamics-and-void-of-emotion-random-dark-ambient-wannabe-soundscapes-with-harsh-insect-like-FX-sounds-on-top-of-a-silly-plop-kickdrum-and-a-neverending-monotonous-bassline is not the type of music I'd like to hear in a forest though
  2. SPEEDY J - ACTOR NINE The most insanely loud kickdrum I've ever heard (without becoming completely distorted noise).
  3. Vangelis - Soil Festivities - Movement 1 I had to listen to this many times before I realized how brilliant this is. Very original, beautiful mood ambience. I've never heard anything quite like this.
  4. Lustmord - Heresy Lustmord - The Place Where The Black Stars Hang Lustmord - Zoetrope Lustmord - The Monstrous Soul Robert Rich & Lustmord - Stalker Robert Rich - Bestiary Steve Roach & Vidna Obmana - Well of Souls disc 2 Troum & Yen Pox - Mnemonic Induction Raison d'Etre - Metamorphyses Raison d'Etre - In Sadness, Silence and Solitude Raison d'Etre - The Empty Hollow Unfolds Inade - The Crackling of The Anonymous Herbst9 - From A Dark Chasm Below Herbst9 - Eta Carinae Lull - Cold Summer
  5. Steve Roach - Arc of Passion I hereby officially promote this to my 'all time greatest electronic tracks' category. There aren't many recent electronic tracks in there, so gratz to Roach for this accomplishment. :clapping: :clapping:
  6. The last 3 tracks on LSG - Into Deep.
  7. Ok, this is terrible. I only like tracks 3 and 7 a bit. This is somehow similar to the last Prodigy album, in the sense that they've both made a noisy, commercial, uninspired mess of their style.
  8. Klaus Schulze - Friedrich Nietzsche
  9. If you gonna try dark ambient, just start with Lustmord - Heresy, actually. There's a recently remastered version out there. And also The Place Where The Black Stars Hang, which isn't spooky or anything but still dark, yet extremely relaxing, it's awesome.
  10. I re-uploaded my dark ambient mix http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=46688
  11. The mother of all dark ambientish electronic tracks IMO: Klaus Schulze - Velvet Voyage (NOT the 2005 rerelease version)
  12. Klaus Schulze - Return Of The Tempel Now this is music. He made a new album with Lisa Gerrard btw, could be interesting.
  13. Rachmaninov - Prelude in C sharp minor, Op. 3 No. 2 Someday I'll play this. Hope my hands are big enough
  14. Steve Roach - Arc of Passion Could listen to this every day. Absolutely brilliant. :clapping:
  15. Sasha - Baja The sun is shining, the sky is blue, how could this not be the track of the day.
  16. Steve Roach - Arc of Passion Actually, just in bed with eyes closed.
  17. Yeah I guess, but... this is nothing like playing on the real thing. If all you ever play on is midikeyboards or synths (that's what I did too) you basicly have no idea what a real piano feels like and everything you taught yourself will sound messed up when you play it on a real piano. I now got a digital piano and that's a huge improvement, but still a real piano feels different.
  18. KLAUS SCHULZE - FLOATING The eternal masterpiece. The greatest spaced out electronic track ever.
  19. Make top 5 favorite tracks from any electronic artist you want. I'll start with Ozric Tentacles: 1. Spiralmind [Waterfall Cities] 2. Sultana Detrii [Waterfall Cities] 3. A Gift Of Wings [Erpland] 4. Shima Koto [Arborescence] 5. Way of the Wind [Nodens Ictus - Spacelines] Brian Eno: 1. Dunwich Beach, Autumn, 1960 [Ambient 4] 2. An Ending (Ascent) [Apollo] 3. First Light [Ambient 2] 4. The Lost Day [Ambient 4] 5. Deep Blue Day [Apollo] Sasha (& co): 1. Baja [Xpander EP] 2. Xpander [Xpander EP] 3. UNKLE - In A State (remix) [involver disc 2] 4. Fundamental [Airdrawndagger] 5. Immortal [Airdrawndagger]
  20. UNKLE - In A State (Sasha Remix) (11:05) Fantastic track. :clapping: So dreamy and relaxed.
