Here's a rather 'minimal' hypnotic Klaus Schulze piece from 1975 made on a big Moog modular system. Don't you just love the sound of it. Here's what you do. Put on headphones. Turn the volume loud. Listen to the music in the background at the same time MUTE the video below and keep staring at it for 10 minutes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsC67qeEhsU

Yeah. Doesn't make any sense, but funny.

Well Folks, to those who are Nu around here, I really get Funky on the Powerful smell of Death when I listen to Soft White Trash, Traditional Black filth Metal or Progressive Rape Core in an Industrial setting with some Trashy Goth Chicks on Speed while Grinding cyberdemons in Doom 2, but maybe that's just me...

The Best Psychill/Ambient/Downtempo Albums of All Time - Compiled
Bahamut replied to JonCrow's topic in General Psytrance
just remove 'Ambient' from topic title and I'm ok with this thread ^^ oh yes and I vote for Substrata to be removed not that I think it's very great, but at least I could save it from being associated with these heaps of psychill mediocrity -
bringing tears to your eyes because it's so beautiful is the ultimate thing music can achieve it's a pity if you can't get absorbed by music this way
-
yeah ok he's a big guy but still he seemed so much bigger than the rest of the male cast that I thought they made him appear even bigger than he already is
-
I listened to this one in bed with headphones while being half asleep and I remember parts of it were damn amazing. Even more so than other stuff I've heard from this group. I need to listen to it again while being more awake.

Capella - Move On Baby :posford: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgiBajSZgLg&fmt=18

James Holden has made some very good tracks and remixes. But those Nathan Fake tunes are what you get when you strip 4x4-dance-music of anything that could possibly make it enjoyable, energetic, powerful, emotional or interesting. So it's a mixed bag for me.

now that I've seen both: Shawshank for sure I enjoyed Green Mile a lot. It's original, but it didn't really move me. I found it a sort of feel good fantasy movie. It made me laugh at some points, where crying probably would've been more appropriate. I just couldn't take it that seriously. So that's where the movie failed. Other than that it's a very good movie. By the way, the black guy really isn't THAT big right?

Herbst9 is nice. Seems pretty much typical dark ambient to me. Inade is good too. Anyway I didn't see RAISON D'ETRE mentioned. He is among the very best this genre has to offer. Metamorphyses tracks 4 and 5 are probably my favorite dark ambient pieces ever, together with some Lustmord stuff and a few other things.

Saucerman - Aquarius (DJ Atmospherik Remix) I still like good old eurotrance sometimes :posford: -
Thanks. Great stuff! Finally something new that I like. :clapping:
-
constance demby - novus magnificat new age/space music/classical... when it finally struck me I had one of the most amazing and unforgettable experiences.... it was the most beautiful thing ever.....I was overwhelmed and got a sort of spiritual orgasm (it sounds hippie but there's no better way to describe it) still something I can only listen to and really enjoy once in half a year or so
-
the music in the clip you posted is exactly the type of music played in regular dance clubs I know this very well because that's the kind of place I normally go out to actually that bass/saw sound thingie was more popular a few years back if you'd look beyond your hippie stuff for a while you might notice how awfully similar this is to club house etc. I'm not saying anything about the quality of the music
-
Huh? Newsflash: you have just discovered 'regular' club music.

yep yep they don't make 'm like this anymore :posford:

Johannes Schmoelling - Zeit (for Stephan) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=696CnJOo0pg&fmt=22 1986, by a former tangerine dream member check it out, very cool piece IMO
-
you won't like it or understand it anyway
-
the people he picks on usually deserve their lives to be made miserable

I'm sure some of you like his awesome soundtrack for Blade Runner. Just thought I'd share this (recently released) track that was excluded from the original score: Desolation Path Lovely warm sounds and melodies that build into quite a stunning moment near the end. They don't make 'm like this anymore.. !

I'll have to give this artist a proper chance before I comment
