What music are you listening to right now?

Vangelis - The Drums of Gaugamela It simply ROCKS. -
A masterpiece indeed. But I guess it must be a very subtle remaster because the original already sounds awesome?!

There's now a 2 CD version of Global Communication - 76:14. CD1 is the original remastered and CD2 has singles and bonus tracks. This would be my definition of chillout music.

Klaus Schulze - The Wizard of Doz & Are We Getting Lost? Basicly it is absolutely dreadful music.... that is yet so strangely beautiful, powerful and addictive. -

that's why I try to ignore the status certain music has.. I listen to new music as 'neutral' as possible -
Vangelis. I can understand why some don't like him... I think some of it is actually rather cheezy... some of the melodies on the Alexander soundtrack for example are pretty bad and also too similar to previous soundtracks. http://www.sonymusic.com/labels/sonyclassi...nderEPK_450.asx Nevertheless, I still can't help liking this.

Vangelis - Blade Runner (my favorite) Vangelis - Spiral ps Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze are more psychedelic than Vangelis... Moondawn track 1 is a space-rock-jam masterpiece. I suggest to also give their music a(nother) chance. Some of it might appear a bit 'basic' but it requires a different way of listening, not with complete attention but also not as pure background music. They are the masters of old skool psychedelica. Anyway, I guess it doesn't work for everyone so I will shut up. Namlook - Air 1, Air 2, Psychonavigation 2, Darkside of the Moog 9 and use the search for more

Very nice! I enjoyed it and spent some time playing my synth on top of it

Most people have this mentality RTP describes and stick to a certain category of music. Their brains are beaten to death with fixed patterns and sounds. When I started discovering electronic music (other than simple euro dance music) years ago, I couldn't make much of it and most of it sounded very weird. But I didn't give up so easily and eventually I started to love it. I guess there's a discovery phase you have to go through before you can really start digging all sorts of (electronic) music, psytrance included. But 99% of the people will never give it a serious try or they are simply unable to process the music

IS GREAT! It has this underlying energy that is held back and slowly but surely comes out. Got it? I'd describe it as 'subtlely controlled bombast'. That's why the title is perfect. Looking for similar tracks. I'm not easily satisfied. It must have a similar steady beat (preferably not a typical psy 'plop' as kickdrum) and subtle progression/buildup. With floating atmosphere and smooth sounds. No harsh sounds and irritating use of samples.

Klaus Schulze - Crystal Lake Man oh man, as powerful as it ever was. I almost cried at the finale and I'm serious. Blessed are those who can connect with this music. Now there must be silence. Playing anything else after this would be meaningless and insignificant. -

People who almost exclusively stick to a certain narrow category and bash other music without decent knowledge... I don't take them for serious music lovers so I don't care about their opinions.

Yeah he's a pretty cool guy and a synth expert. When he made Albino he asked for patch names on synthforum (dutch forum where I was a regular). He included a couple of banks with patches named after users from that forum... somewhere you'll find a patched called Bahamut I see he's doing the same thing now on kvraudio. -
