  1. one of those rare albums where I absolutely cannot decide what my favorite tracks are same goes for Global Communication - 76:14 and a few others
  2. Same genre? they're both beatless ambient but that's about it.. The Magnificent Void is much more complicated than it seems... listen to track 3 Infinite Shore a couple of times... the whole flow of it, the way the different sounds play together.. the underlying melodies... as if space is talking to you... There are few to none beatless ambient records that are this sophisticated and continuously evolving. Ok, I've said enough.
  3. on the other hand, if he's not serious he sure does make a lot of effort to fool us... the song at the bottom has some funny melodies... omg now it's getting out of tune hehe
  4. Racoon - Love you more yes, there's actually a nice song in the Dutch charts these days... check it out
  5. Vidna Obmana - The River of Appearance Just another ambient tip... some verrrry beautiful pieces
  6. I hope all of you will someday enjoy it as much as I did Go to bed with it and you will feel smaller and smaller...
  7. My opinion about The Magnificent Void: hehe that's what I wrote in another topic... I still feel the same actually bottom line: Steve Roach' magnum opus for sure. GIVE IT TIME
  8. Living The Dream is a nice track indeed, though it gets a bit repetitive. And "dated" music doesn't exist in my world, I take everything for what it is without comparing to newer music.
  9. Those three are my favorites... Also very good IMO: Empetus (old sequence based music) Core (rhythmic/pulsating) Life Sequence (sequence based music) On This Planet (mixture of all sorts of stuff) Body Electric (rhythmic) Soma & Strata with Robert Rich are nice but it's not for everyone, that goes even more for his work with Vidna Obmana (dark and weird). He has loads of 'desert' and 'tribal' ambient with real percussion, didgeridoo etc. like his classic Dreamtime Return and recent Mantram.... that stuff is usually too much of the same and boring for me.
  10. Jeff Pearce - To the shores of heaven beatless, very relaxing and beautiful, no synths but processed guitar
  11. I only like reading sincere, subjective reviews... starting-point should be your own taste and your own knowledge and experience with music. I like reading a review that describes what the reviewer feels when he's listening... when he describes what the music is like in his own words... it could be very positive or very negative and everything in between....music = emotion people who try to be objective about music are full of crap
  12. cool, I will listen tonight! I made one too some time ago but it's removed from savefile.com :\
  13. Here are 2 fragments. Use heavy bass. http://people.zeelandnet.nl/rverpl/E2E4.mp3
  14. By this description it could be Manuel Göttsching (Ash Ra Tempel) - E2-E4 But it's one man and has nothing to do with 'rose' and it's not his first album. I like it very much btw. It will drive you insane though. It's like the concept of trance music, recorded in 1981. I love the guitar after 32 minutes.
  15. Humate - Love Stimulation (Lovemix) LSG - The hidden sun of venus (Oliver Lieb remix) Sister Bliss - Sister Sister (Nalin & Kane remix) ooh yeaahhh!!
  16. Cool! Track 6 is so special and beautiful... Boards of Canada and the like could only dream about making music like this.. IMO. Some of their solo efforts are more or less in the same style, but I haven't heard any that's on the same level as this one. They sound a bit weaker and less cohesive to me. Let's hope they will team up again sometime, to create some of the best original electronic music on earth.
  17. Uhm Kraftwerk? Ash Ra Tempel is a band (with Manuel Gottsching as main man) and their first album is called Ash Ra Tempel... also made with Klaus Schulze, who was also on the first album of Tangerine Dream.

    Shades of Orion

Nice album. I love track 3
  19. Sometimes there are these strange, short ambient tracks that I like very much... friday I was listening to the album Steve Roach & Vir Unis - Body Electric and suddenly out of nowhere there was this: http://people.zeelandnet.nl/rverpl/Bloodstreaming.mp3 Very different than the rest. It sort of woke me up.. thinking, wow what's this? The atmosphere is deep, surreal, hypnotic... it's so 'out there' Seraph: Did you like HERESY?
  20. Juno Reactor - Conga Fury JC - Redsky (Deep Progressive Mix) Pete Namlook & Bill Laswell - African Virus Part III
  21. Arvo Pärt - Summa for strings Debussy - Arabesque No 1 good night
  22. one of my favorite trance tracks, same goes for: np: Sasha - Xpander
  23. Air - Cherry Blossom Girl Lionel Richie - All night long (old favorite ) Accadia - Into the Dawn (James Holden remix)
  24. Prodigy - Scienide Prodigy - We Are The Ruffest Prodigy - G-Force
