Yet again you miss the point. I gave those recommendations because I thought it was fun to dive back in some long time over elementary school days. I could care less about MC-ing, west/east coast rap, whatever. Call it childhood nostalgia. Or whatever would make you feel good. From my perspective, and the kind of electronics I'm into, your 'psychedelic' suggestions I quoted can walk with a tucked tail. Psy rock? WTF? I can't listen to that stuff after having spent 36 consecutive hours out partying, let alone be bothered with a home listening session. Spare me, please. OK? Cut it with Van Buuren and all of that, go find comfort in the next T. Dream release instead. You ain't deep just 'cause you don't dig d'n'b and old school hip hop. The "your music isn't psy enough" aesthetic is out of place in this thread. Keep the voice down, mate.

I beg to differ. I think your statement is a lie. A lot of shallow talk and little to none contribution. There is some great music listed in this thread. Far from that everything here suits my taste, but quite a few hip hop, electro, ambient, EBM and various other styles of electronic music have been recommended, and some people might find certain releases handy while further exploring music. The only thing which really annoys me is that techno has been virtually completely neglected, but those who contacted me via PM know we more than corrected the eventual wrongs. Anyways, I'll dig some more through my crates and see if I seek out some more lost gems, or something like that...

Trance wise, I am mostly about goa. If it wasn't for that, I would most probably never have bothered with the trance genre anyways. Luckily, I listen to heaps of other music, so nobody can call me an unshaved, dirty shaman, kin to Shiva's sister in law...

I know, I was just toyin' around! I actually quite like how this topic turned out - it made me undust some very, very dusty releases! For the last few weeks, under the influence of this thread, I've played everything from vintage Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk's "Autobahn", Steve Reich's "6 Pianos", Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here", Gas, From Within, Raekwon's "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx"... and so forth.

Why? Can it be possible that Steve Roach cannot flip dope punch lines over jacked James Brown loops? :drama:

Start with the legends: Anthony Rother Dopplereffekt The Hacker Drexciya Try out these V/As as well: http://www.discogs.com/Underground-Resista.../release/684367 http://www.discogs.com/UR-Electronic-Warfa...release/1354621 I am no electro head though, but the stuff I listed above convinced me that this genre had a few more tricks up its sleeve. These are no hidden gems or unknown, no name releases - the above represents some of the most wicked, cerebral and experimental stuff labelled as 'electro'. And naturally, need I mention Kraftwerk? Above all, check out "Man machine" (AKA Die Mensch-Maschine) and "Computer world" (AKA Computerwelt). I reckon if and when you check the above, maybe it's time to dig out those obscurities!

I agree with abasio, and my honest opinion is that releases such as this one have earned and deserved their place here. It is not a psy trance release per se, but as abasio kindly pointed out, if I heard this getting played in some backroom while cheesy full-on is getting blasted on the main floor, I would most definitely want to know what artist's music am I listening to. So, murphythecat, I appreciate you sheding some light on this artist. Other then that, I just wanted to let you know that you have to be the single most snobbish, most illiterate, childish and rude cunt to have posted on this forum since my arrival. That's all. And if I get banned for saying it, I want everybody to know: yes, it was worth it. Fuck you, you pimple faced, blotch-headed testicle rash! Go suck on a thumb and get your swaddling clothes cleaned up, kiddo.

My man Petar Dundov is one hell of a croatian producer to be mightily fond of! I only wish you have been here and witnessed some of his talent get exposed at parties...

Every once in a whie I give something a spin. I like good sampling techniques, scratching and banging beats/complex beats, such as those produced by Dan The Automator, DJ Premier, The Bomb Squad, the vintage Marley Marl style... I don't love it, but some of that music you gotta be def not to appreciate!

Dr. Alban? Didn't he have a mega-dance hit with some Africa related song?

What music are you listening to right now?

Word, man. The other day you were listening to Model 500's "Classics" release, I forgot to mention that if you wanted to furhter explore Atkin's timeless gems, you should definitely check out this 2xCD on Tresor Records which covers a lot of stops of his career: http://www.discogs.com/Juan-Atkins-20-Year.../release/441574 It has a lot more than just Model 500 stuff, plus it gives an adequate and quick look at his extensive output. A great place to start, and see whther or not are you interested to dig deeper... -

When you don't list psy/downtempo releases, you seem like a guy who lives inside my CD case :clapping: THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST CD I HAVE EVER EVER EVER EVER HEARD!!!!!!!!! I still listen to it through at least once a month, and it's been what seems like decades that I own it. Every single track is an peerless classic here. Absolutely incredible. This guy made us all believe that he produced music on an adjacent planet and teleported it to Earth. What a great mind J.B. was... P.S.: if you want to check out his phenomenal come back, check out these amazing two 12" from last year. They kick so much ass with such a bad attitude, and the devastate dance floors: http://www.discogs.com/Joey-Beltram-Shakin...release/1538579 http://www.discogs.com/Joey-Beltram-The-Sc...EP/master/17702 -

Hey, try contacting, or keep an eye out on this label: Nachtstrom Schallplatten ( http://www.discogs.com/label/Nachtstrom+Schallplatten ). They recently made a lot of X-Dream/The Delta catalogue available in WAV quality on beatport. Some old and long time out of print releases have been restored in full quality. Yummy. Try asking them if they have plans for Downhill as well. I remember listening to it a few times. It was a fine experience, but I don't recall getting launched around the rings of Saturn or anything.

You know when you fall in a stone cold haze and you've just had a Red Bull re-fill? If yes, then there's no need to dispense dope sentences, even though I do it without a prescription, as prefixes asphyxiate those who resent this wicked sonical syntax. I'll just quit revolving with written retalliation, and rate this repetitious review as a fail! Fortunately, the music is better. On a scale from 1 to 10, "Scizoeffective" is approximately a 1000. The Delta just flattens your frame and uses your body as a welcome mat. No hospitality, they just point you to a hospital. They make beef jerky strips from the skin on your neck. They'd probably chainsaw a dozen producers just to call it a productive studio day. I love malignant metaphors that make the chandelier fall and crack the pavement. The earth is trembling and the chariots of hell are on to me while I'm stiff in utter amazement. Luckily, I am a child of music, child of movement, and most importantly, I can still walk on the ceiling.
