M.E.E.O. I see no other possible option.

Merci beaucoup, mon ami Joseph Bonjour, les garcons et filles francaises, vous etes ou? Je voudrais acheter un peu de la musique francaise. I hope that was at least partially correct, it's been five years since I last went to Paris. Ah, what a marvellous city it is...

Yeah, DP, you just made my otherwise rainy day. I had no idea Pharoahe Monch had a new album out. Hip hop's biggest multi-syllabic lyricist is back. Hell fucking yeah! :clapping:

I know it's not goa or psy trance related, but I'm trying out my luck wherever I have the chance to. So, if you posses a copy of this, or know anybody else who does, please do contact me. I'll send you a list of items I'd be willing to trade for that particular double CD techno related various artists compilation. Thanks.

I'm more with Basilisk on this one. When one is recommended a certain tune, the fastest, easiest and pleasant way to find out what the fuss is about is to scope out a Youtube link for example. If you like what you hear, you put your money where your mouse pad is, and if you don't- close the window and kiss the recommended tune a bye bye... I see no harm in posting a Youtube link in order to help somebody out. You only increase the chances of making that somebody buy the album, CD, vinyl or whatever. Instead of writing down tunes, definitions and/or explanations, why not just let the music speak for itself? A potential customer will always be more inclined towards buying something he has heard rather than something he read was good. Right? The whole bitrate & sound quality discussion is absolutely irrelevant here, as both p2p and Youtube are notoriously known for atrocious sound quality regardless of the genre, artist, etc...

LOL, this is indeed an old anthem I forgot about completely. A very well exectued toon, no doubt about that, but it's not as nearly as competent as some of his other tracks from the era. P.S.: Plastikman's acid house remix is IMHO even more massive than the original. Nice one though, seraph. Doodadoo is a true to the heart trip down memory lane.

Lotus Omega- 100% revital free So hard, wicked, menacing, fast, unpolished, raw, harsh, mad, sinister, deviant and uncompromising.

The original still hauls ass. Still gets more play time than its subsequent remixes, so naturally my votes goes to the closing track on "Alien protein".

What music are you listening to right now?

I am very interested in hearing this. Where did you get it from? Your description is good enough to make me wanna buy it immediately! I just checked it out over at discogs for the first time and it seems amazing... It slipped under the radar, big time. -
The Growly Family on T.I.P. Records all the way. I really had sky high hopes back then, the whole gmsesque sound and style made an enormous lot of sense to me when this album was the biggest thing that struck the music scene since those green stripes on Aquafresh tooth paste, while I still consider the tracks Tentacles Of A Jelly Fish and The Growly Family to be absolute masteripeces of wicked psychedelia, loaded with torrents of mad ideas and just enough skill to flawlessly execute them.

I got this one just a few days ago as well. Some great, very great stuff there. From back in the day, trippin' down memory lane tunes to state of the art modern club hits. Such a sweet retrospective. I'm loving it! -
download existing releases on russian sites... what to do?
rino replied to supergroover's topic in General Psytrance
Er, wait, wait! Is this actually turning into a thread where people are trying to attempt and reasonably justify the worst and most shameful kind of piracy of recent times? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight... Tsk tsk tsk, the lame excuses. I'm from Eatern Europe as well, so cut the poverty crap. Now looky here, we used to be in the communist block as well. Big fucking deal. It's a competitive world, and our financial setbacks are NO excuse to steal other people's hard work. Period. Cut the pussy ass whinning, pull up your sleeves and bring cash to the table. -
A survey for the new school Goa fans out there...

Don't worry, I bought every Suntrip Records release thus far And yes, going digital is my future. You see, I went from carrying around 4 battery discmans without G-shock, to purchasing Sony's ultra slim 72 hour model to now packing hundreds of tracks on one tiny MP3 player. While I still (naturally, man ) appreciate a good CD, I find myself listening to 95% of my music or while sitting in front of my computer or while being on the move - MP3 player... -

Me not like either. Me adore Forever After, Stratosfear EP and Dreampod EP, but me also convinced everything they've done after is blown out of proportion. Overhyped, and heavily overrated. And that is me being nice... I sold my Koxbox stuff as well...

I bought all of them except V/A Cosmic Disorder. I'll be honest here: I am going digital all the way. ALL of my music is ripped onto my PC and CDs are dust collectors for the most part. There are releases I would not part with for all the riches of the world, but most probably I'll sell most of what I have and pay for my driver's licence exam, purchase a new big screen TV and some more non-spiritual and materialist shit like that... I firmly believe that going digital is the future of music. You may stay loyal to CDs until the very end, true, as that is everyone's choice, but facts show different results- digital digital digital digital is the future. -
Hard to find, yes. Very limited distribution. I remember that Anoebis once posted how through contacting the label owner, he was told that the (former) owner of Tranceform Records completely lost interest in the goa/psy trance scene, and was more inclined towards the whole industrial sound. However, this remains a great album. The cover art is one of the finest I have ever seen and the music does not fall far behind. I still give tracks Radiator and Flamedancer regular spins, while the sheer energy of the epic and pulsating Distant Lights (2003 mix) still puts my speaker to the test every time! All three are top of the line old school killers, with a straight forward drive, no holds barrel pumping bass lines and melodic wizardry increasing listeners' urge to get up and start dancing! Dreamweaver's remix of Cosmic Lobster still doesn't do much for me, but the rest more than makes up for its eventual setbacks. Since the kick off note, far reaching and deep soundscapes are portrayed throughout the album. It does get samey at places, but it's one of those albums where the music tends to rely more on a continous and uninterrupted quality flow rather than hitting you with break-climax-break-climax type structure. Having been released in 2003, it stood at the forefornt of the whole goa revival wave, and my two cents is that with time its value can only increase. It sounds much older than all the subsequent goa trance albums, but that may just be its calling card. It has the old school vibes many many of us missed back in 2003, so if you were around when this hit the shelves, your head hit the cieling when you placed it in the CD player

download existing releases on russian sites... what to do?
rino replied to supergroover's topic in General Psytrance
Welcome to the real world. The so called illegal russian download sites have been at it for years, and they've more or less offered for free download ANYTHING there was to offer... Meaning, they've covered the ENTIRE spectrum of music as a general phenomenon. They have releases up for free downloads the very same day these hit the shops. No joke. I have even seem the go as far as taking other people's DJ mixes, and placing them on their own web pages with altered artist names and stuff. It has happened more than once... Put it you upload a DJ mix of yours here, called DJ Supergroover's supergrooving hits, and after 10 days you see it on their web site, but called something like DJ Yuri live DJ set @ Lifka Club, Moscow... It's pretty common that they snatch other people's work, and tag it as theirs. Especially if the party in question is a yet unaffirmed, unexperienced and fresh artist, who offers his/her tracks over the internet for free. I have even heard they make fake event announcements. For example, they would announce a party, but then add a little spice to the line up by adding names of artists and DJs to the flyer, but those were never even contacted for playing at the party!!! And the answer to your question is that I've never seen or heard about any of these sites and their respective owners getting punished, fined or getting any penalty points whatsoever. I know people have been sending them mails, threats and questions, but most of the times all they got nothing for an answer or an arrogant "So? What the fuck are you gonna do about us putting up free music for downloading?" type attitude Apparently, these sites are heavily used and abused in Russia, and pretty popular amongst the local population. But I'm not a 100% on that, ask some russians if you know any... Their initial "download before buying" mentality has quickly turned into "download here for first and get the music for FREE" rhetorics, which is now what it is. They are quick, they are good, and fuck it, they're are way more than just one step ahead of the music industry... -
I ain't much of an ambient music conoisseur, but those FAX+ releases called Broadway or something, which have Khulman collaborating with one more japanese dude, I reckon, are simply amazing. I don't own them, but I've heard them, and remember how I thought it was really deep and beautiful music. I could get into it.

Very interesting... In fact, I find "Extended" to be an exceptional release as well, and I go back to listen it a whole lot, and this comes from someone who can barely stand ambient/downtempo music But I would have never payed for it a penny more than its actual price. Not even its own scarsity would make me go venture so deep into my wallet. Then, on the other hand, there is something really special in Solar Fields' sound IMHO. I get this feeling he only gets better with time, and out of all the downtempo music of his I've heard, "Extended" is yet the best he's done. Today I got: Ben Sims- Ekspozicija 08: Escapism Pt. 2 (2008) (Explicit Musick) http://www.discogs.com/release/1231675 U2- The joshua tree (2007) (remaster) (20th anniversary edition) http://www.discogs.com/release/1207497 My all time favorite non electronic music release... Comes with a specially desgned jewel case, and a great, thick booklet, full of interesting reads etc :posford:

No doubt about that. His voice just kills me and butchers the otherwise decent instrumental tracks he tends to sing over. I heard he was part of the Brit troops in Iraq... No wonder they sent him back home if he "entertained" his mates by singing...

Ricardo Villalobos- Fabric 36 (2007) (Fabric) It's awesome. Seems like it's time to go for some of his older material. For unknown reasons I've been ignoring his older work for quite some time. There is no more excuse. His Fabric DJ mix just blew me away.
