I would have never went on to look for this one myself, but since AlieNed was soooooo nice and kind to upload this one for us, I will for sure give it a spin or two. Seriously, thanks a bunch AlieNed! Cool you even have this old old old release. I think this is worth listening to even if it may sound like Scooter! Just for the hell of some class kicks

Yo antic, I swear I had so much luck with this one... I was actually trying to cut a deal for an old V.A., but then the dude saw some non-trance electronic music albums that I had, and he desperately wanted. So, to make the long story short, I kicked in two CDs I'm not that fond of, and I took care of the shipping prices, and got this jewel in return!!! Now, when I get my hands on the Suntrip remaster of "Transdimensional"... Can't wait

God, I usually love Eraser vs. Yojalka, but their last effort could qualify as the first album to ever hail out of Finland, IMHO... Which is a sad thing, considering the amazing "Round 1" and "Tarinat"! But, who knows, you might even like it! I hope you do Salakavala is, on the other hand, an excellent release. Suomi all the way, and I'm absolutely hooked to this type of music, too bad I have to go through living hell to get some of those releases to Zagreb... Today, after quite a while, I got only one goodie, and I have never ever listened to it before. It is...: Hunab Ku- Magik universe (2000) (Blue Moon Productions HQ) Gonna listen to it in a while, and hopefully toss in a retrodelic review as well...

That's right, for what I know, and if there is anybody better informed, please feel obliged to correct me! After "Tribute (to goa) blew the fuck up, so to speak, it was remixed and released as "Tribute" in 1995, I think. And boy what a track is it... I've been keeping it in constant rotation on the latest Retrodelic Vibes compilation, together with "Alcyone". Those synth stabs on "Tribute"... too nice to be true! How could anything go wrong...?

Unofficial Filteria Remixes & Unreleaseds Album
rino replied to mars's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Naw, man, I wasn't frustrated at all, I was just waiting for my chicken wings to fry properly. I was bored. Reconsider my brain? Quit my sarcasm? Choose my words? No. No. No. Nevargh, I am evil, ignorant, arrogant, and I thoroughly enjoy igniting feuds with people who dislike "Family of Light", even if it means repeating myself every five posts... -
Your Favorite Simon Posford Album
rino replied to Frontier Psychiatrist's topic in General Psytrance
Tough choice, but following the much despised Highlander there can only be one philosophy, I'd chose Hallucinogen's "Twisted". Gosh, the memory lane factor would take its toll here, as this was one of the first CDs I ever bought. But neverminding the sentimental bullshit, the music here speaks a 1000 languages and takes the whole psy trance movement to some new levels. Remarkable album! -
Unofficial Filteria Remixes & Unreleaseds Album

We don't like Derango any more than you have no idea of what melodies are in the first place. Be they proper or ultra cheesy. And the next time before you decide to share your precious ideas with us, count to ten before typing. "Family of Light" is not as melodic as "I.F.O." because it wasn't intended to be. What does this have to do with Filteria/K.O.B., my guess is as good as any... What fascinates me here is that you chose to bash an artist for trying out new things and expanding his horizons... You also critized with no arguments whatsoever one of the greatest trance projects of all times because they refused to release two albums sounding exactly the same!!! You really should neglect new ears, and fetch yourself a brain, dude. -
Unofficial Filteria Remixes & Unreleaseds Album

Yes Shiva, you are our lord the saviour. Enlighten us. Illuminate us with your cerebral, ever lasting olympic flame, you diligent music lover and composer. This whole web site has been in a dead end street, and now I finally realized why. We're all a bunch of little, pimple faced, immature, suburban, Skazi loving kids who were waiting for a Messiah to lead us to the light. Thank you Chis. Serious now, boy. Go fetch yourself a new pair of ears. I heard they have 'em over at Toys 'R Us for half price, so you can get a spare pair as well. While you're at it, get yourself one of those "Fisher Price- my first synthesizer" items and compose some proper melodies for us! -
Even if he had been to Scooter's concert, so what? Whassup? Are you too spiritual to attend it? Did Shiva touch your forehead with his index finger and tell you that Scooter is music for non-enlightened losers? Or does your over-the-top psychedelic self esteem prevent you from understanding how can anybody like such "popish" music? Not that I like Scooter, but the ironic manner in which you asked the question makes it seem like potential Scooter fans are idiots... And the mere fact you dislike them does not place you in any privileged position. You know how it goes reger: live and let live. If one chooses to go to a Scooter concert, are we competent enough to make fun of that person?

I just recently revisited this album, and I think it was right after the 4th Schlabbaduerst installation came to an end. I just felt like putting this one on, and... Well, the only thing that came into my mind was Blitzkreig! Why one may ask? Well in the same manner of Germany's relentless, merciless, agressive and persistent war strategy, this album constantly attacks and bombards from each and every pore it has through the whole 9 tracks. "Cryptic crunch" is bound to subdue any listener with its intensity and rawness, the same way most european cities succumbed to Germany's enormous war machine back in the day. What I mean is that this a complete ear slaughter, heavy cerebrum devastating music, and I don't think these guys gave a fuck whether you approved it or not. They just came, and well, dropped the bomb. Tons of 'em to be more precise! Doing a track by track here is pointless as there is nothing dull or cheesy here, and IMO there are no single track standouts, as the whole thing simply rocks. The album's insane attitude leaves me with a god damn speech impediment! More then any other 1999 release, this oozes originality, quality, and above all, the top notch in your face psychedelia! This is psychedelic as hell, and I really mean psychedelic- a true genre defining album! Listening to this, I guess you could imagine how Uma Thurman felt when John Travolta pierced her chest with the adrenaline shot in "Pulp Fiction"... WOW!!! I'm back and living again! I bet my left arm, and I think I'd have slim chances of losing, that any of these tracks here would pierce a whole through the newest and loudest speaker, even today! What a C-L-A-S-S-I-C -!-!-! Not even I liked it upon the first listen, but now... A few albums grew on me so nicely and still sound fresh so many years after their original release. Essential!
-
Well, it could be just me, but I always though that things such as "the best" or "the worst" don't really exist... Why? Because something that in your ears sounds essential and spectacular, may sound like utter crap to somebody else on the other pole of the globe... It's all relative and depends on subjective judgement and one's taste. There sure are people who found Skazi's album amazing, otherwise the guy wouldn't be a fucking celebrity! Or am I wrong? Yeah yeah, not that I've acted all smart and shit, I'll come straight with my true intentions: if there was anything with Infected Mushroom included, then I put it on my worst of 2006 "worst of" list. Without even listening to it. Yes, I am ignorant. Yes, I am evil. And yes, by now you must have guessed it, I use every chance I get to mock I.M. I truly do classify as a little prick!
-
Well, I am not too much into this sound and stuff, and I don't know too much about it, and usually I don't like it, but occasionally I give those old Cyan (especially the one which is like a compilation with some other dudes I cannot remember right now) albums a spin or two, and damn... They always launch me into some good mood! Apart from that, nitzhonot doesn't do much for me.

@ Sideffect & Manuser: I see we're all heavily amazed by this incredible gem... I don't think my review a few mouse scrolls up the page does this album justice. This album is sweeter then molassess, slicker than Lucky Luciano's hair, more raw than Bolivian cocaine, fresher than the Old Spice aftershave lotion, flows nicer than the Nile river, as melodic as Vienna's philharmonic orchestra on amphetamines, has more to say than any of those never ending interviews with Quentin Tarantino, smoother than Sade's "Smooth Operator", has enough power to blow Superman right out of the frame, more emotional than Danielle Steel's complete heart-tearing body of work, more stomping than Farrakhan's million man march, sharper than Michael Myer's butcher knives, louder than your local neighbourhood crew of drunks singing at 3 in the morning from the top of their lungs, has so much going on for the whole time it makes New York's Wall Street stock market seem like some nursery school, shines brighter than 50 Cent's gold chains and teeth combined, has enough confidence to make David Copperfield's ego shring back into a fetus, more attitude than Shaquile O'Neal's slam dunks, it stands out so much from the common and ordinary that even Nietzsche's ubermensch would crawl back to his cave with his tail all tucked in between his legs, and last but not least, it gives the jaw dropping effect equivalent to Mike Tyson smacking you with plastic bags filled with hot urin across your cheeks! If by now you still don't get it, it is possible you dislike music. Not to give this one at least two listens is about as dumb as buying a pack of red Marlboro's with a hundred dollar bill, and letting the clerk keep the change... Do yourself, your family, friends, pets, girfriends/boyfriends a favor and get this one! Without a doubt one of my top 5 post year 2000 releases!!!

The ofjisol Oopie's "sorry Simon Godford!" thread
rino replied to Oopie's topic in General Psytrance
What is this thread about? About apologizing to mr. Posford for doing some time travelling? About debating whether the user Simon Posford is Simon Posford or is it some random user (READ: radi) pretending to be Simon Posford? About when did mr. Posford lose his alleged "super powers"? About mocking radi's laudable and ass licking posts? Well, anyways, having that I'm already here, I very much enjoy Simon Posford's (I must have written his name six times in the last two minutes...) work, be it Hallucinogen, Shpongle, his output in Younger Brother or his older and more obscure projects like North Central Positronics. To sum it all up, the man knows the name of the game! -
Yo, I say we each write a list of 5 CDs we just cannot find or put or hands on. We then mail an approximately 800 item list to Anoebis and Mars, kindly asking them to fulfill or pointless wishes, thus turning a label into a goldfish... What do y'all say? Sounds stupid, I know. So do 99% of posts begging Suntrip Records to re-release albums you unfortunately cannot seem to find. The simple fact that "Transdimensional" is getting reprinted and stuff, hopefully does not mean that the suntrippers are going to turn into a second-hand book shop! It is a very nice and useful "present", but I want to remember them for dropping their own gems, and not picking up the stick where the old school legends left it. Rock on, Suntrip!!!

Unofficial Filteria Remixes & Unreleaseds Album
rino replied to mars's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Change is more than welcome, as I don't think I'd be too hyped upon hearing a third Filteria album in the same vein (sound wise) as "Sky input" and "Heliopolis"... And the K.O.B. track was to my liking, so I am very much looking forward to that album. We've heard the amazing in your face melodic climaxes, and Filteria's obvious highest love and respect for the whole Etnica thingy, but it's more than welcome to see some new stuff cooking... Are there actually people out there who would like Filteria to release another 6 uber-melodic albums? Yeah, sure both albums are amazing, sure he resurrected the old school at the speed of life, sure he knows what he is doing on those keyboards, but let's all move on, shall we? I very much appreciate any artist's will to explore new paths and directions for his sounds- and that is what separates the average dudes from the guys who know the deal!!! -
It was never the vocals (though they did their share), it was never the fact they "sold out" (for God's sake, when you are a musician, or any artist, you have the freedom of choice to take any direction you want, regardless of what others might say), it was never that weird and everchanging sound, BUT it was the sum of various parts that always pissed me off. Corny samples, extremely cheesy and bad guitar riffs, irritating chants, overproduced and overcrowded tracks, where sounds and effects are placed just for the hell of being there ("Classical mushroom" being the classical example), occasional cheesefest with some melodies and the inevitable We're Infected Mushroom and we are so different, look at us- we're so cool! bragadoccio attitude, all contribute to my disliking of this duo. I do however think they released some seriously spectacular tracks, and some I'd dare say are classics: Bust A Move, Roll Us A Giant, Where Is S? , Dancing With Kadafi, The Missed Symphony...I consider all those musical masterpieces coming from average albums... And I find their albums mostly patchy, at best. Same goes for their career. And no, I do not consider myself to be an ignorant purist, as I have my reasons (and rights) not to adore their albums... After reading advance's nice, long and insightful review of "Vicious delicious", I concluded that this is not something I would waste my money on. Maybe I'll borrow a burned copy from somebody when I will be in the mood for listening to this, but I don't hink it will happen so soon. Yeah Heavyweight sounds like a chance worthy track, but...

I think I'm gonna mail this dude and try and cut a deal... I'll pay what it takes if he sell me a copy... No seriously now: if he has some copies ready in his basement or wherever, I don't see why he couldn't afford to send me a copy and earn some lil' cash... I was really excited about this compilation, as the tracklist was really to my liking!

how much would you offer for Project II Trance vinyl?
rino replied to Lemmiwinks's topic in General Psytrance
For who might have the money, 85GBP is not such an exaggerated price... I've seen people pay more for releases far easier to find. If I had that sort of money at my disposal for buying one vinyl release, hell, I'd be keen to pay up... But no. I don't think I would ever pay over 50 euros for this vinyl. A CD maybe, but the vinyl no. -
That means I gotta keep my fingers crossed and hopes he gets back at me as soon as possible as well. The man sure has some old goodies...
