Artist Vs. Artist ~ Album Vs. Album ~ Label Vs. Label
rino replied to psytones's topic in General Psytrance
"Hypnorhythm" It is an absolutely immaculate full blown old school goa trance experience! Sounds dated, very simple, yet very powerful. Memorable leads, classic samples, dance floor friendly beats and more energy than you want to hear! Not as nearly as complete and neat as their sophmore album, but what the hell... It still gives many modern artists a run for their money! Solar Fields "Extended" vs. "Leaving Home" -
Jaia new album, remix cd and some more news
rino replied to Slater's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Well, MWNN didn't drop Teleport at Ozora this year, and as far as my perception of Jaia's performance goes, I consider it the finest main stage live along with Hallucinogen and the absolutely divine Blue Planet Corporation sunday morning blast! Anyways, I am very hyped about his new album, very VERY hyped, more than I was for "Fiction" some years down the line. Jaia's new sound has hypnotic groove, it demands your attention and takes full command of the dance floor. Don't know about you, but I feel it! -
Artist Vs. Artist ~ Album Vs. Album ~ Label Vs. Label

Infernal Machine! For two absolutely outrageous tracks, plus a seriously well executed MWNN remix. Despite the fact The Loin Sleeps Tonight has a completely jacked 303 section, it remains a totally wicked number. Works great at clubs, and moves the crowd without hesitation. I love it, party goers dig it a whole lot as well. Slinky Wizard vs. Subcouds -
What About A Rating System In The Review Section?
rino replied to psytones's topic in General Psytrance
This is actually a good idea. You could vote whether you wrote a review or not. It would also be cool if your forum user name was written next to your vote, so you could eventually get what type of music do certain members dig and all. Sounds cool to me, it would actually come quite handy if you could rate a release after writting a release, and see how your vote compares to the one of others. -
Is It Something Evil In Ripping Old Rare Albums?
rino replied to (OM)Open_Mind's topic in General Psytrance
OK, so we each have our own issues and all, but what I really cannot figure out is: if this really is bwhale, how can you write something like the above after you've pulled me by the sleeve twice on discogs and asked for rips of my CDs? I mean, so much eloquence and shallow rhetorics, so many nick names and so forth, but what it all comes down to is that you simply don't practice what you preach. "A real collection must consist of only original releases, no fake remasters and reprints." Sound familiar? It should. But it's not like you would know anything about that. -
What Does The Vocal Sample On Questionmark Says?
rino replied to Goa-Head's topic in General Psytrance
I am with visine here. In fact, that's what I always thought the sample said. -
I used to think you were a girl when I joined this forum Likewise, I thought X-Noize and X-Dream were in some bizarre way connected. God, the mistake...

Is It Something Evil In Ripping Old Rare Albums?
rino replied to (OM)Open_Mind's topic in General Psytrance
On what solid grounds do you build your case, and/or by whom were you given the authorisation to be the judge of who can or cannot hear determined releases? -
From seraph's list, my picks are Alien, Brazil and Blade Runner. I really do like Metropolis as well, but have already seen it twice, and I do not consider it a movie I could watch three times and get the feeling I have just been exposed to something new. I will wait until I'm old and senile. The child in me is madly in love with Predator, and T1 & T2: Judgement Day...

After hearing Blue Planet Corporation play Cyclothymic and Crystal last sunday at O.Z.O.R.A. Festival, I have no other option but purchasing this. Not only was his sunday morning performance the best one I've heard there, but he also dropped both crown achievements of his career around nine o' clock in the morning The tracklist of the first CD looks like an old trancer's wet dream, while disc two has a load of (hopefully) goodies I have never heard before, but I would have a hard time trying to explain how fullfilled with joy could I get if this release had a single track which could hold its own against the two tunes I mentioned earlier on in this post. Proper review is probably coming when I get the CD, but massive respect to DAT Records for making the very hard to obtain Underground French-Kommunication vinyl released tracks on a single disc! Great move...

I'm off tomorrow morning as well. I am hard to miss though, since I am the coolest looking muthafucka this side of the equator Seriously though, if somebody comes up with a good meeting point in the next few hours, please share it here!

Help - I don't have none good pronunciation skillz
rino replied to ariScotle's topic in General Psytrance
Quote of the year. Almost good enough to make it enter rino's infamous "my signature is irreplacable" competition. -
You know what? That means we were right, and Orm was wrong! I troll.

I watched Yes Man last night. Nothing revolutionary, it is far from classic material, it isn't trying to be either. But, it is so damn fun, I LOLed two hours after the movie's running time was up. So funny, so cool, and it actually delivers a very positive message to all you couch potatoes out there! I give it a 4/5. Entertainment factor is very high! As for more serious movies, I watched Matteo Garrone's Gommora. A very insightful, close up, and hard to digest peek into the Naples underground. Very documentaristic, thus all the more powerful and real, it shows no bling, no fancy cars and larger than life shoot outs and turf battles, Hollywood dapper don gangsters are out of the question, but poor, lost and confused kids looking for an easy way out are on the menu. Betrayal, family relationships and friendship are portrayed in a gritty manner. Easily the finest italian move ever to deal with the Naples' Camorra. I rate it with a 5/5!

Holy crap, I forgot about V/A Schlabbaduerst 7, which smacks your dry jaws with hot piss loaded plastic bags! My solid #2 pick... That one is just so larger than life & death, over the top, two tongues in four cheeks, ridiculously hard and absolutely detached from any concern which implies you, and whether do you like what you hear!

Looks like I will have to go dig that one out then, and check what the fuss is all about. I know I have it, but don't recall being so immensely impressed. Thanks for reminding me though. Anyways, my all time favorite psy trance orientatd compilation is V/A The Truth Of Communication [ http://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Truth-O.../release/141217 ], released in 1996 on Matsuri Productions.

What music are you listening to right now?
rino replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
Karl O' Connor & Peter Sutton & Ian J. Richardson - Death had said -
It's a CD-R release if I remember correctly, thus it does not get sold via regular psy trance orientated shops. Sharpen your iris and cornea man, 'cause the artist and the lable owner visit this forum frequently. Try sending them a PM. The owner of Phototropic has a nick which goes something like djtixingoton or some other similar complex clash of sounds! The artist, Filipe Santos, goes around these parts with the Amithaba Buddha nick, so get in contact with them

Interesting suggestion. I am a big fan of the Coen brothers opus, but didn't find Magnolia captivating and engaging enough. But I very much agree about The Big Lebowski being their finest movie, maybe equalled only by Fargo. Oh yeah, and I absolutely adored last year's Burn After Reading! I LOLed so much during that one. Barton Fink, Miller's Crossing, No Country For Old Men (Javier Bardem's performance owns) , O Brother, Where Art Thou, the macabre The Man Who Wasn't There and Blood Simple are all great movies, each in their own right, while I found Raising Arizona, The Hudsucker Proxy and The Ladykillers substandard and inconsistent when compared to the rest of their cinematography. Overall, I enjoy watching their flicks. Each one of them has a dark humour scene with witty and awkward punchlines, with an unexpected twist. I like that! Recently, I watched Terminator Salvation. If you unplug your brain, you will get exposed to a fun two hours of amazing man vs machine action sequences and cool special effects. Nothing revolutionary or innovative, just good old Hollywood SF fun That's what I expected, and that is what I got.

Man 1990-1993 is THE techno era my fave's are from, but this Channel X/Praga Khan stuff kills me Anyways, go with CJ Bolland (early through mid nineties), Joey Beltram's "Classics" album, Source's "Organized noise" and his follow up as Source Experience, called "Different journeys", the aforementioned Channel X dorks, while far better than !Hype is the dutch label Go Bang! Records and Stealth Records. If you are to pursue the belgian sound of the period, I reckon you should check out R & S Records; hands down - they are one of the three most important old school european labels. Enough! I cannot be bothered to jot down suggestions in a non american old school techno topic. That alone is enough for eternity spent in hell... j/k This just isn't my thing. I reckon I gave you the classic picks, nothing out of the ordinary. Hope you get something out of it

Continuous mixes, all of them, with the exception of "Earthshine", which is an uptempo album. My vote goes to "Movements" as the best Solar Fields album by some distance. As for the rest, "Extended" is quite probably his finest pure ambient release, while "Blue Moon Station" is the most versatile one - from ambient to uptempo trance back to downtempo...

For real? Can I please be your friend? Can we hang out and lick Chupa Chups together?
