Avi Nissim & Lior Perlmutter from ASTRAL PROJECTION actually have never experienced one. The most expensive live act around is Juno Reactor whose live act costs 25000 pounds... Raja Ram went mad and forgot about the profound concepts of his label. Goa Gil is actually not guru as they might call him, or he is calling himself. Trashy heavy metal freaks are running the scene now and all the hippies are gone. There are people listening to dark, sinister minimal trance on the waterfalls of Brazil. The scene is temporarily OUT OF ORDER, please wait for another cyclic wave.

Hey mars, we started listening to goa trance at the same time, back in 95. Those were definitely the days. I remember that I have been going to small psychedelic parties back then before I bought Pulse 1 & 2 in 1996 and since then I am absolutely hooked and haven't stop listening to it ever since. I followed the progression of the sound, realising that the more it progressed the more it regressed later on. The definiton of psychedelia could be easily put in the age between 95 and 00. By that time, there were SO MANY quality releases released. In 2000 the famous 'progression' started but for me it was just a regression...Okay we got progressive genre developed which I like very much but psychedelic started to go down the drain. Full on appeared and destroyed psychedelic completely, but there were still minimal and progressive rising. I am glad for those two genres, they are very intelligent and precise but I still miss wild, demented cosmic journeys that are very rarely or almost NONE made in past few years. So, I am entirely with you mars with your label now and think again of releasing Chi-A.D. - Earth Crossing album which I already suggested it few months back. Bring us back the madness...

All facets of trance-music according to me :)
seraph replied to Anoebis's topic in General Psytrance
Hey Jos, very nice table you made there... I think you got everything right, although I would name some categories slightly better...but still, it is very good categorisation... LOL at Yamabikaya... Plus, I wouldn't call nitzhonot as Goa trance at all, but I guess it should have been put in some category... -

I think that you should get them both, but In Search Of Meaningful Moment is definitely better and I won't compare it with any other group, it just IS one very good ambient project, and both albums have quality, although first does tend to sound a little bit Shponglesque.
-
Huh, this poll really sux, sorry Rain...It is a bit silly actually having to put what style I prefer most cause I like good music of every style you named except nitzhonot. As everyone knows, I mostly prefer psychedelic goa trance and wild, energetic, twisted psy, but I also like progressive, psytekk, minimal and psy ambient. I like full on too but only the one from 98-01, so I basically listen to various types of trance music, especially old school trance ( 90-95 ), the original, liquid melodic and acid trance from the early period, where the things started moving towards psychedelic.
-
Yeah, that one is perfect ! And Bahamut is right, Jules Verne Mix is even better than original, smoother and more expressionistic, and there are other mixes of it too, like even Banco De Gaia's Mix, check others too... BTW, if you like that style for sure get LSG first and second album; RENDEZ-VOUS IN OUTER SPACE ( 1995 ) and VOLUME 2 ( 1996 ) from which is original of NETHERWORLD.
