Shpongle 3 - Nothing lasts but nothing is lost
seraph replied to MattMan's topic in General Psytrance
Huh, there was so many people hating Shpongle, bashing it and there are 1600 views of this topic plus 150 replies ! What would be if it wasn't that popular... -
Awww, you are really little baby in trance and psy...just being born...well, Daydreamer is pure progressive trance, Calculus is pure psychedelic trance and the rest is full on...Since you mentioned random groups or should I say the only trance you have, I can only recommend you something in similar vein... Progressive : Vibrasphere, Son Kite, Tegma, Atmos, Sensient, Sun Control Species, Freq Psychedelic : Hallucinogen, Tristan, Infected Mushroom, Psychaos, Darshan, Cydonia, Space Cat Full On : Absolum, Talamasca, CPU, Azax Syndrome, Misted Muppet, Dark Soho ( quality hard full on ) That would fit your taste I suppose...

I don't even know how to react anymore...so many great labels are closed ( Blue Room, Flying Rhino, Matsuri, old TIP ) and now Transient, all the greatest labels around...
-
I did which can't be applied to you buster...
-
Well, yeah, old school is old school, you are right...
-
You see, I am only negative with negative people, so I am not worried, you are trying to be smart ass non stop and YOU ARE NOT...Just another kid with delusions of grandeur...Bug off...

It doesn't exactly sound like Eye Q stuff actually, it sounds completely as Platipus, Eye Q never had such melting melodic lines splashed everywhere...

Yeah, well, I thought after reading that Juan is coming back that he will make another PERSONAL album and not get 'under' the influence. Shame he did got under the influence...he didn't do anything new or ground breaking but he also adopted the album for modern audience...Shame...really...still, it is not a bad album, it is just not THE album, instant classic, cult album, just another average one...
-
Hehe, thanks... I want to see your style...

What music are you listening to right now?

Zabra - Waterworld Tarsis - Atomic Children Rmx God Damn Ninjas - Rovboc -
Huh, bad news indeed... I loved a lot of his stuff. He had specific level of psychedelia that is only present in british trance, wacked, tweaked psychedelia. And even though his production wasn't that good, he surely had a talent and was making some great songs both in ambient and trance. He is truly one of the pioneers in british scene and even though he didn't gain popularity, his name is still known among trancers.

I dig some of the dark stuff but most of it sounds pretentious. I like some mad guys like Osom, Datakult, Azax Syndrome, Derango makes some demented stuff, Kluster is also pretty wild...I am not that much in to it cause they all use same effects and sounds and structures are very similar...
-
Could you spear us sometimes your non sense one liners ? You are not cool as you think, far from it...

I want to have this album as soon as possible...

I've only heard his first album UNI - UNI and it was very good. I hope this one will be even better cause that japanese knows how to make music...

Shpongle 3 - Nothing lasts but nothing is lost

I think it's a slight rip off to put already released track that is even nothing special on their new album, after years of waiting...That's all...but I hope that it would be rather good, but if first 3 tracks are Beija Flor then it is similar style to Tales which I wasn't expecting... -

If that is the case petri, then this album is a rip off... -
Corazon de Fuego is amazing but on new album you are not going to hear any ambient not to mention the tracks in the same vein and quality...unfortunately...
-
Enhanced Reality - Dj Dede Mix - pretty good mix containing great trax by Talamasca, Absolum, infected Mushroom, Slide, Oforia, Xerox...
-
Watching your comments I am getting turned on people by this album ! Have to look for it as soon as possible !
-
Well, it isn't psy trance in the real sense and as a generalised genre but it has HEAPS of psychedelia. Plus, their albums Transmissions and Beyond The Infinite ARE Psychedelic Trance music. Their latest albums, after BTI are not psychedelic trance anymore but are psychedelic influenced...

I see you are 'ultimately' classical, yantra, I like modern classical composers and their almost alternative psychedelic approach : Gustav Mahler - Amazing, tripped out composer...has very long pieces and lots with epic structures but not heroic but demented. Bela Bartok - Psychedelic, sinister, demonic, primal composer with amazing touches of lyrical and enchanting...perfect composer, my definite favourite. Gyorgy Ligeti - Another hungarian magician, similar style to Bartok. Dmitri Shostakovich - Sympathetic, constructive russian mind, at some stages pretty psychedelic. Maurice Ravel - Famous for his collossus BOLERO, perfect modern classical piece... And I am not even such classical freak, I've heard some of their worx and they were all very good and creative.

That is why because most of them are old school ambient songs from 95-98 that you were not into cause you are mostly into new stuff...Go and dig, they are very trippy and psychedelic...
