Shpongle 3 - Nothing lasts but nothing is lost
seraph replied to MattMan's topic in General Psytrance
Huh, I think there was like 10 topics about new Shpongle album in past few months... It turned out to be that they are most popular group around.... STOP MAKING THREADS ABOUT SHPONGLE ! It's boring ! Sorry MattMan, but there are no other topics in General than Shpongle... -
The Isness is in deed their weakest effort... Tales Of Ephidrina is amazing, it is very old, but PERFECT... I also suggest their singles ( Papua New Guinea, Lifeforms, Cascade, My Kingdom, We Have Explosive )...
-
Hey Cino Bino, all of their albums rule...But LIFEFORMS ( 1994 ), ISDN ( 1995 ) and DEAD CITIES ( 1996 ) are their best efforts...Check my reviews in reviews section...
-
The Mocking Laugh Of The Cruel Ninja and Ragu are great psychedelic tracks ! They are absolutely freaky, these guys know how to twist your brain...

I have THE BEST ambient mystic / gothic group ever, if you are interested in very trippy, intelligent, psychedelic ambient with EXACT feel you are looking for... SYNAESTHESIA They are perfect ! You can check my reviews of them in the reviews section but I will tell you about their 3 only albums anyway. Yes, they only made 3 albums but all 3 are ULTIMATE CLASSICS ! EMBODY ( 1995 ) Amazing, generic, trippy release with incredible mystic melodies and EARTH feel. You fele like you are traveling through Earth. Concept album at its best. 10/10 DESIDERATUM ( 1996 ) Their best album, double disc, all songs are absolutely perfect. This one is darker and very subversive. It has heaps of effects, melodies, pads, and it is BEST for tripping. 11/10 EPHEMERAL ( 1997 ) Their most focused album, in the similar Earthy, tribal, trippy style as their first one, absolute perfection. 10/10 Believe me, you won't be dissapointed, they are ( to me ) with FSOL the best ambient albums ever made on Planet Earth. Simple as that...Enjoy...

Huh, Stalker, that is hard question sicne no one else bothers to make such music anymore because IT IS NOT SELLING. I want the same thing, really. I simply love mystical feel and what it gives you to experience. I can say that CHI-A.D. makes most mystical, gothic influenced albums and songs and even though he doesn't sound even remotely as Cosma music, I find all of his albums as pure mysticism. Here is his full discography cause you need all of his albums : VIRTUAL SPIRIT ( It is exactly what you are looking for, gentle, melancholic, mystic and his first album which was so cute in a way, get it for sure ! ) ANNO DOMINI ( Much darker, purely gothic release, it has various kind of dark moods, perfect for the night, get it for sure ! ) INFINITISM ( To me his best album to date even though it is not an official album, all songs are perfect but maybe too faster for what you expect, still, get it for sure ! ) EARTH CROSSING ( His best real album, filled with generic, mystical melodies, perfect for mornings, GET IT ! ) So, you see, this guy is definitely what you are looking for, but check also MEDICINE DRUM, they are tribal group with some psy influences but they surely know how to make mystical music, like gathering of different cultures and presenting them not too in your face. Also check Return To The Source compilations that are dealing with mysteries of this world, they are definitely worth checking it out : DEEP TRANCE AND RITUAL BEATS, CHAKRA JOURNEY, SACRED SITES... I'll post more when I remember...I hope I helped...

Celtic Cross - Mundis Imaginalus Jorg On Mushroom - The Messenger I can't think of any at the moment beside the ones you mentioned... But check Celtic Cross - Hicksville, whole album is brilliant...

To keep their belly full with the elephant meat or for making non sense bracelets and jewelery ? They could kill other animals to keep their bellies full. There isn't THAT MANY elephants out there to kill every each one for food, plus they are probably not having elephant farms so they can kill as much as they can...Huh, sorry, man, I get over excited about those things, I know I am crazy...

That is evil power but still more human than slaughtering...

seraph replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
I finally decided to pause with music right now since I am listening whole day every day...After I stopped Dead Can Dance - The Host Of Seraphim I am now listening to the silence, my cats meowing and brids singing...nice change for the city... -

REHASHED 2004 BOOM ! RECORDS 1. TALPA - DRAGON TALE ( NYSTAGMUS RMX ) 2. ETNICA - TRIPTONITE ( FRACTAL GLIDER RMX ) 3. BABBA - SUMMER NIGHT TRIPPY ( BOTFB RMX ) 4. FRACTAL GLIDER - THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT ( RASTALIENS RMX ) 5. RASTALIENS - AGAHOUEY ( QUANTUM STATE RMX ) 6. GROUND ZERO - WAY TO GO ( RASTALIENS RMX ) 7. RASTALIENS - MACHINES AND ROBOTS ( QUANTUM STATE RMX ) 8. RASTALIENS - AGAHOUEY ( FRACTAL GLIDER RMX ) 9. RASTALIENS - GADGET ON ACID RMX 10.FRACTAL GLIDER - GREMLINS CHAN RMX Here is some kind of new Boom Records compilation and I have to say that I wasn't expecting full on from this label. There are very good songs on it, but some of them are wrongly remixed. This is blend of psy full on, another forest melodies by BOTFB and visual trippyness by Fractal Glider. There are heaps of Rastaliens songs and remixes and they get all the credit here. But not all...First 3 songs are the best for me on whole compilation cause they are the only ones that aren't actually full on. DRAGON TALE is pretty good remix but not better than original. I haven't heard anything new here but the structure is very good. TRIPTONITE is actually very nice remix, despite very bad critics here. Fractal Glider remained his old him and he stretched Etnica's melody and turned it into something pretty dancy. SUMMER NIGHT TRIPPY is the trippiest song here and one of my favourites...You can clearly hear BOTFB demonic melodies that are actually very gentle ones and straight to the point. THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT is very nice remix but still not better than crazy original. It is typical Rastaliens style. AGAHOUEY RMX by Quantum State is nice but nothing more than that. Classical full on with nothing that inspiring. WAY TO GO is more psychedelic but still has full on bassline...God how am I bored with full on bassline these days...Why does everyone have to use it ? Lack of inspiration ? MACHINES AND ROBOTS is another remix by Quantum State which is better than previous ones, but still...you know...Fractal Glider Rmx of AGAHOUEY is better than previous ones but he also decided to go with the trend flow ( full on )...GADGET ON ACID RMX is very funny song, I quite like it, it is also trippy and quite psychedelic. GREMLINS CHAN is another favourite beside Summer Night Trippy...not so typical Fractal Glider but he used some very nice old school melodies...So, all in all, this is pretty nice compilation with some full on copies but nevermind, it is nicely compiled...7/10

Where did I mention that ? I don't even like that song from that disc...don't find it catchy at all, maybe you mixed with Y Salem...

I've listened to this album few more times and now I have to say that it is pretty good...I don't even mind vocals songs which I did in the beginning. I find this album utterly artificial but that is the whole point about it. I didn't understand it at first cause I thought, not another change by them but in the end, they knew what are they doing and this is good example of regression of progression...Favourites : WE INTERFACE, SUPERINTELLIGENCE, TRY TO SAVE YOUR SONG ( ! ), VIRUS, DISTRESSER...I gave it 7/10 now...

This is very nice, mellow progressive album. It is very tame and it sound slike some gentle soul made it. There is no repressive sounds, noisy effects and it just sounds cozy and smooth. I don't think it is that average album, a little bit above average, okay, it is not extraordinary but no one is making extraordinary albums these days ( except Filteria ) so this is just as good as any other quality release. My favourites are : THE CROW, ELECTRO CUTE, CONNECT IT, YUGI, THIS GOES BACK, JAW CONTROL ( the best one on album, perfect ambient song, by itself worth the album )...6/10, with Jaw Control reaches 7/10

Yes, it is very nice spending cozy, urban night instead of seeing bunch of deranged drugged kids ( not that I mind drugged ) dancing like robots to uninspiring full on music. Trance scene turned to hell everywhere...I can't understand why it got so deviant where most of production is made around 'dark, mean, evil psy' and ' fluffy, mellow, flower full on' . Why there isn't any middle these days, except of progressive which is the only constructive music made these days...okay, there are bunch of melodic, fresh releases, but atmopshere on parties are rather dumb and with no euphoria at all...

Hey Deli, I had very nice weekend spend with a lot of friends and went to hear Laurent Garnier which obviously kicked ass. This crazy guy played everything, as usual, from groovy techno, over gentle trance, through deep house and then he started playing with our brains playing complete oldies like Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics, I wanna be your dog by Iggy Pop and the rest of nuts music. I loved his combining different styles one after another, great concept for urban party where everyone are drunk or stoned...And much better crowd goes to techno/drum'n'bass parties than trance...
