5 Most Influential Psy-Trance Acts of All-Time
seraph replied to Empty Space's topic in General Psytrance
Well, Empty, yopu nailed them all actually. I was just about to name the same ones except I have to add THE most Psychedelic : ETNICA / PLEIADIANS/ CROP CIRCLES These 4 guys at first made enormous ammount of albums and singles and even though their latest efforts aren't that good than their previous ones ( from 1995 - 2000 ) they are still founders of pure psychedelic madness. Their unique psychedelic style with morphing, liquid melodies and screaming 303 everywhere is still not copied and they remain as the most prominent psychedelic artists in this scene. Key albums : Etnica - The Juggeling Alchemist Under The Black Light ( 1995 ), Alien Protein ( 1996 ), Equator ( 1999 ), Pleiadians - Identified Flying Objects ( 1997 ), Family Of Light ( 1999 ) plus numerous number of perfect singles when you gather all of them, you can make another 2 discs out of it. Their latest albums are not even remotely close to their previous ones, so if any newcommer decide to purchase whatever from them it should be the albums already mentioned cause all of them are true classics. ASTRAL PROJECTION This most popular Israel Goa Trance act needs no introduction, everyone already know everything about them and they released 4 classical albums : Trust In Trance ( 1996 ), Astral Files ( 1996 ), Dancing Galaxy ( 1997 ), Another World ( 1999 ). Yes, I think that Astral Files belongs there too Empty no matter cause it is filled with remixes, it has certain flow and it is filled with classics. Shame they changed their style with Amen that was also good but not classical, cult album. HALLUCINOGEN This british wizard is here from very beginning, being only 19 years old when he started he is still among best producers around concentrating entirely on making ambient music now. He has various projects beside Hallucinogen, mostly ambient but his trance project Hallucinogen remains the most popular of all. With only 2 albums, he still managed to make 2 PERFECT cult albums which every trancer should have. Twisted ( 1995 ) and The Lone Deranger ( 1997 ) JUNO REACTOR This innovative, creative group that is also from the start made by now heaps of albums as well, combining different styles and moods. They are here since 1993 and still existing but not being dissapointing. That is great thing, staying true to their style and origins, making perfect blend of ethno, psychedelic, ambient and freestyle. Their debut album Transmissions was for its time real entry to psychedelic realms, they were one of the first to introduce psychedelic sounds to people. Key albums : Transmissions ( 1993 ), Beyond The Infinite ( 1996 ), Bible Of Dreams ( 1997 ), Shango ( 2000 ), Labyrinth ( 2004 ), so all albums practically. INFECTED MUSHROOM Huh, this guys really invented new style, no matter how it was Hallucinogenic influenced. Their latest installements are very average but their first 3 albums as already mentioned are true psychedelic mind puzzles. The Gathering was new, fresh, crazy psy style that people didn't hear before. Their harmonies and melodies were twisted, deviant and very trippy, like you literally ate Infected Mushroom and got stuck in some other reality. Empty named their key albums, so get those 3 if you ever come across... I agree about X-Dream but Pleiadians are definitely more influental than them... -
Absolutely right ! Goa Trance is heavily encoded ! Ever since I started listening to Goa Trance, before I took acid, I was sucked in. My body, mind and soul were finally tripping together, without any drug inside, but when I took the first blotter, IT ALL MADE SENSE ! It is true Spiritual Journey ! Shame there is no more spiritual encoded music for remaining perceptive and spiritual people...

I AM INTERESTED IN PLANET BEN - TRIPPY FUTURE GARDEN ! Finally I've seen it somewhere selling...Is there still an offer ?
-
Hey, what else is left there ?

It's really a shame you are getting rid of such perfect record...

Their first album was very good trancenature, but the second one is more trippy and pictoresque...Get it before the third one...hehe...

Hey Archimedes, benji is not using guitars in Younger Brother, it is Simon's work...Same in Celtic Cross. Wicked Simon knows how to play with our brains... How could I forget Cosmosis - Key To The Innerverse ? Stunning song ! I add : MFG - Brainwaves, Slide - Unstable

L.S.G. - VOLUME 2 1996 SUPERSTITION 1. CAN U HEAR ME 2. HEAR MY VOICE 3. NOVASTORM 4. GET OUT 5. LECTROLYTE 6. MICROFISH 7. NETHERWORLD 8. FREAKME 9. FIREFLY 10. CENTURION Here is the second album by Oliver Lieb most popular project - L.S.G. This second journey is not so precise and cleverly arranged as first one but it has many good songs. He started using housey sounds and some parts tend to be a bit monotonous. Whilst his first effort was spacey and trippy, this one is more ' on the ground '. It has floaty rhythms but somehow lacks real FLOW. First track, CAN U HEAR ME is nice opener, short and slow and with some housey sounds sets the chilly atmosphere for an album. Next one HEAR MY VOICE is like a continuation of the previous track, also short and with house sounds as well, but it get monotonous unfortunately. NOVASTORM is first Oliver LIeb alike song now and it is pretty good. It has nice melody and driving rhythm and it sets the atmosphere better for the rest of the album. GET OUT is very good song, very trippy and distant and it has some breaking beats in the back. LECTROLYTE is another standard Oliver Lieb trance song, the best on album by now, melodic, spacey and liquid. He finally put the pace up but then comes short intermezzo MICROFISH with beautiful female vocals that it exactly sounds like an intermezzo for NETHERWORLD, the best song on album and biggest hit from the album, if not one of L.S.G. biggest hits nevertheless. What to say about this song, all of you already know it and it is pure perfection. Hypnotic melody that hypnotises you and doesn't let you down for 11 minutes. FREAKME is another good experimental trancey track with nice pads and overall positive feel. FIREFLY is 12 minutes long journey and it is also one of the better ones on album. CENTURION is after Netherworld the best on album, it has some kind of psychedelic feel cause of very good arrangement of sounds, effects and melodies. All in all, this is pretty good album, only it tends to sound the same all the way through cause he uses same sounds and effects everywhere. NETHERWORLD, CENTURION, LECTROLYTE and FIREFLY are the best on album...7/10

most energetic and powerfull psy, goa track ever?
seraph replied to hujaboy's topic in General Psytrance
I made a mistake, I mixed last post which I should have posted in Intense Psy topic...crazy stoned head... -
I prefer old sound because it had two persons functioning on perfect levels, making amazing blend between tweaked british humour and uplifting dutch acid lines that were making perfect state of trance. COSMOLOGY and various singles released in 97 are still my proper state of trance where after Jeremy left I miss those acid uplifting lines but I don't mind the change yet. SYNERGY was great album with better production than Cosmology but weaker in melodic way. Moonshine and Higher Access are the only two songs on album that have old style melodic madness and the rest was very freestyle psychedelic trance. INTERGALACTIC was pretty smooth experiment between funky, groovy beats mixed with psychedelic tones focusly arranged. I loved that album but it was still much more chill for such passionate artist he used to be. CONTACT went into more chilly realms but I mind some immature samples and almost no melodic strucutres except in Inner Space. The guy obviously stopped using acid completely and stayed only on weed cause that's how this albums sound : conceptual, funny, immature and dubby, perfect album for rolling joints. TRANCENDANCE I haven't heard yet except of one song Dead Or Alive which was much more energetic and Synergistic alike. I expect that album will be good comeback to the old new style which i missed somehow since those days...

In any case, nevermind the remixes when your fresh new album is about to come out...

Yers, Ormion, all the tracks you mentioned are perfect also, but then again, I find practically all they made except few song on The Message as perfect. BTW, MFG is not forever as it appears from the late 2000...

This is incredible experimental album and as such maybe the best experimental psy I've heard. 1998 was year of experiments and there were lot of releases that were doing mixtures of styles. Sandman's first album is very intelligent, dark piece with insane effects and crazy constructions. Some called it Goa, but not a chance, this is pure psychedelic with a pinch of minimal actually. There are lot of minimalistic structures but beautifully arranged with insane psy samples and effects. Whole album is done as a concpet album so I don't have definite favourite. I like most : FLIGHT OR FIGHT, TURTLE BEACH, SHOCKWAVE, NOSTRADAMUS, MUSHROOM SYPMHONY...8/10

most energetic and powerfull psy, goa track ever?
seraph replied to hujaboy's topic in General Psytrance
With these kind of questions, I always go for the most powerful, amazing goa trance track ever - PLEIADIANS - MAIA, simply the best hypnotic music ! -
Hehe, unikos, well, I consider myself as a vampire there cause I LOVE night ! To me it is even better part of the day just because it is more mentally challenging ( drugs work better, better having sex at night, synaesthesia is more possible and that is very important to me ). During the day, you have various things that draw your mental attention ( family, work, faculty ) but night is when YOU are free, and that is to me the most valuable part of day. Of course I enjoy in day cause of sun, nature, energy but night is as I said more for brain and spirit work. Huh, unikos, you sound so conservative in your sayings and yet you consider yourself as open minded trance boy...
