You were playing guitar when you were 4 ? You were trash metallist when you were 5 ? How convinient ! What happend to you after you were 18 ? Just joking...Your post just sounds naive, like some 9 year old kid have written it and not 29 years old mature guy...No offense...

Well, your perception of reality changed, not their music obviously. When I heard that album first, I couldn't believe my ears. It was exactly type of trance I like and have been waiting for. Since you said you were into house and progressive music I can say that your ears didn't apply to the screaming psychedelia. I know a lot of people that simply can't get into it, not conciously, but biologically. You see, someone is predetermined to feel it, someone is doomed not to understand it. I see it like that, and it is obvious that your perception brooden and now you are ready to experience something different in your life. If you happen to be more open to it than before, then start with excessive using of trance and goa, it will enlighten you in no time. I was enlightened after first 2 months of listening back in 1996. I took this music too seriously, injected it intraveined and now am only floating and enjoying in as many goods this brilliant hippy ideology is providing us with...

I think it is home made compilation, the track listing looks too random for normal compilation...I think....

I also pick Beyond The Infinite as their best after which Shango follows and then Bible Of Dreams. Transmissions is good album but it does lack some mastering skills...

Power Source - Incubator ?! ?! ?! First time I hear about this...Explanation ?

I didn't quite liked the album. Yes, he has his unique style but the production is really bad. I didn't expect that from person that is in the scene since 1997. This album sounds way too random and pretty minimal. I only like 3 songs : THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM, ANTIMATTER, QLIPPOTH...Rest didn't grab me or even turn me off, which is rarely with intelligent trance. This album might be intelligent in the way he uses sounds but the structure is way too minimal and at a lot of stages pretty monotonous. I wouldn't call this album a jewel, it is ceratinly more innovative than heaps of full on releases but this idea and vision should have been presented in a better way. There are heaps of boring samples from the movies. If the production was better and if the level of twistedness reached incredible than just twisted as a sake of twisted, this album would be great, but it tends to loose somewhere in between and completely turns to sound degenarate...6/10

Yeah, that is the album I meant but I read on some site that that is the actual name of the album. I can't believe I got it wrong. Maybe Ukiro knows the real name...

You might be right djnemo, but I meant pure Goa Trance with those massive melodies with some surreal, IDM-ish conotations in between and I couldn't say that Minimal Psy represents that crossover...but you are right, Psychedelic and Acid Trance have been done ( Cosmosis, Green Nuns ) but imagine having whole genre developement and not only few albums made...and, yes I was hoping that Minimal Trance and Hard Techno already exsisted but I never came across that. I thought that Massimo Vivona is more progressive trance artist. I would more say that DEVIL FISH fits that match, I heard them live once and they blew me away and surprised me more than 50 % of trance artists and their live acts...it was easily the best TECHNO I have ever heard...Cheers

Kailash, Gothic + Classical music is in some ways Ethereal muisc and that genre by itself has nothing to do with trance. Progressive rhythms and sounds would go great with Ethereal voices and atmosphere.

Yeah, I am in for the news but you heard Etnica - Sharp. I am sure it is not going to be even remotely close to old Pleiadians. You heard Inner Space single, nice but very poor in melodies. It seems that Max Lanfranconi is doing too much his effects work and Maurizio is put on the side to make few melodies. Beside this, I'd get their album anyway, sentimental me for the pioneers trance.

Hey banjankri, the opening title from THE SHINING is great ! I can't believe you mention it ! I found the whole thing to be ultimately creepy. Did you know that Kubrick used Bela Bartok music for this, and at some stages later in the film he also used Shostakovich... Creepy title theme from the chopper and that sick, subverisve music...

Heh, why it has to be usual ? I quite like if the artist progress their sound but to still use similar sounds and effects. That song is certainly not Greenflow or On Red but it has that level of sickness that my ears like, cause no matter how much I adore and am crazy about GOA, I love psychedelic excursions and trips to the unknown. If everything was kept usual, it would all start to sound the same. I wouldn't like it if they changed the style completely and made some utter non sense, but this track still represent them but in another light...Heh

I see his point Lemmi, cause lot of it sounds like he was forcing and squeezing the melodies just as for sake of melodies where in IFO, the melody stuctures are so fine and smooth that you don't even notice change or transition. I like Filteria style, it is definitely one of the better albums last year but some melodies do sound overused and somehow too EPIC. If only he made smoother transitions and less melody brain f.cking, this album would be absolute perfection.

I am just right now listening to that track Ladic ! Hehee...It is very weird psy tune indeed....
-
What exactly you didn't like about it Dragonflier ? Is it cause he reworked it in ambient and freestyle or it is just the content ? Cause, the content is pretty various and it is like hearing dense collage of sounds and layers. I found pretty amazing how he developed his style during years and how he didn't corrupt and started producing commerical music as 80 % of pioneers these days...The only thing I mind is because he didn't separate tracks...I so much wanted to play individual track when you mix or want to play to someone something specific...
-
I also like their singles Greenflow, On Red, Space Angel, Plasticine Hellyflowers but Under The Sun is also very nice...

Ethereal music is like gothic music but with natural ingredients. Someone call it Darkwave Ethereal. Best example of this music is Dead Can Dance...but there are heaps of artists that make similar constructions : Switchblade Symphony, Joy Division, Ikon, Immaculate Black...so it is mostly darker warmer music that is not twisted or demented but rather peaceful and subverisve...
-
I agree about being great song but I can't call it funky actually. But, yeah, it is really psychedelic ! One of the better ones from album...
-
Hey Ladic, have you heard velvet Acid Christ ? It is good combination of gothic and psychedelic, with not such good production but they had some interesting ideas. Check them out !

No, electrickery, that was deliberate irony on my noticing the irony, so it had to be spiced up with more irony. Some kind of funny way people are expressing themselves here, through constant jokes and irony, how serious is that !

It was actually from 2001, electropete...

LSG - REWORKED 2004 SUPERSTITION 1. HEARTS 2. BLUEPRINT 3. SHECAN 4. MY TIME IS YOURS 5. THE TRAIN OF THOUGHT 6. TRANSMUTATION 7. CUBIC 8. NETHERWORLD 9. RISIN We have here Oliver Lieb freestyle ambient rework of his previous trance singles. But, what a rework album we have ! This is easily one of his finest and most sophisticated works by now. He is one of the rare guys that didn't sell or went berzerk and he remained faithful to his spirit and at the same time progressed and developed real professional skills as a prominent musician. He has numerous projects, I believe that he is one of the biggest chameleons around. He is producing everything, from liquid, trancey songs to more progressed house or downbeat techno. He is surfing on real waves of sound absolutely imaginatively and creatively crafted my himself. He has his world and style no matter what style he chooses to make. He is one of the talented german musicians ever. This album, I can call it album, even though it is rework of previous stuff is fantastic examination of various, variable moods through electronic collage. He is experimenting with mellow, melodic structures followed by some liquid breakbeat or progressed IDM waving up and down soothing melodic sections with some strong beats and stunning effects. This rework is true masterpiece and every song is absolutely brilliant. HEARTS opens very gently with crystal noises and effects driving for first three minutes before recognisable melody enters. It's smooth, gentle structure really sets an atmosphere for this journey. It continues to more melodic BLUE PRINT that carresses you and gently entrances you more and more. Another perfect rework. SHECAN is picking up the pace and slowly developing into some primal, subversive atmosphere before it crispily slides into MY TIME IS YOURS. This rework is one of the best on album cause it goes more into breakbeat with Chemical Brothersish beat and drive. What a change for Oliver Lieb ! You could swear he done with them actually but no, it is purely himself doing every single sound in here. THE TRAIN OF THOUGHT is nice, trippy break between previous and next one TRANSMUTATION. This is another perfect rework that even reminds a little bit on FSOL, with rhythm and beat. Filled with stunning melody and great effects, this another atmospheric piece of music really sets for climax of the disc. CUBIC opens brilliantly and very shiftingly slides and penetrates your brain with incredible dignity. Long, melodic lines are floating and you feel the journey really climaxes here just before NETHERWORLD...Whoa ! One of the best here...he mixed 3 different genres in one; pure, uncorrupted ambience with gentle breaking beats and psychedelic downbeat. Shivvvering ! This guy can't miss anything ! And then comes THE BEST ambient track here, RISIN...This ultimate perfection, slightly melancholic but powerful cause of juicy, psychedelic effects through whole track. This song perfectly finishes this amazing album. It couldn't have been done better ! This is one of the best albums from last year. It is very progressed, innovative, fresh, crystal clear, beautiful, concise, and Oliver really can't dissapoint, at least as LSG project...The only problem is that he made it as one track, so the tracks aren't separated between each one, but that doesn't bother me so much cause when you listen to this album, you can't imagine yourself stoping any track, it is that good. You can buy this album with remastered second disc of his ultimate trance classics. Get it if you are seriously into experiments and real progress of sound...11/10

Yeah, it is great disc, filled with twisted sounds and constructions. You should check second part as well called Demented, from 2000. It is also great !
