No, I don't have that one which is a shame cause I would like to hear WONDERLAND 11 minutes long ! Still, I would miss Cafe Del Mar in that case... Hehe

Fractal , Abstract Psyart masters needed!
seraph replied to AmithabaBuddha's topic in General Psytrance
Hey Filipe, I know great fractal art site and maybe you can get some help there. It is called DEVIAN ART and it has everything that human brain can produce from sheer creativity. From digital art, to landscapes, photography, fractal and abstract design...The site is www.deviantart.com. ENJOY ! There is also www.fractalus.com but most of them are older fractals but nevermind, the sites are great anyway to look and enjoy. -
@Eleria: Why do you think that Hallucinogen, Astral Projection and Shpongle are overrated ? The guys obviously achieved lots in the psy trance scene and people probably wouldn't like them so much if they are not that worth. Although, I think that GMS were great in the begininng and just turned into hyper productive trivia.

Hey Tatsu, glad you did that cause I always find you cool and suddenly this little thing happend. Appology accepted of course cause I hate arguing with people...I see your point too, I can understand why you get furious, but facts are facts, they had IMMENSE productions, great structures and stunning melodies... And what is left now ? Few half a minute dropped melodies, singing, bad bassline, few thrown effects. Just see what I am trying to say about ruining their talent. But nevermind that anymore...glad we setlled it out...

Does it always have to be an argument Tatsu ? It is not about taste but about degradation of their sounds, Infected Mushroom completely threw their fat bassline and crazy melodies and changed them with some disposable linear melodies and effects. Yahel however completely forgot to make melodies as before, and minimized whole feel of his music. I WOULD LIKE TO SAY they progressed but THEY DIDN'T. I am sick to argue about music, especially when it is not matter of taste. I HAD TASTE by listening to them before, so that is what I call taste. Stop being smart ass and don't argue immediately. Cheers

I like his first two albums : FOR THE PEOPLE and WAVES OF SOUND. Private Collection and Hallucinate are rather boring and his new style is way too soft and without excitement. But, his first album is really amongst best melodic albums from that period. Just when I thought, hey, look at this talent, he destroyed it exactly like Infected Mushroom. Shame !

APHEX TWIN - CLASSICS 1995 ROUGH TRADE 1. DIGERIDOO 2. FLAPHEAD 3. PHLOAM 4. ISOPROPANOL 5. POLYNOMIAL-C 6. TAMPHEX ( HEDPHUCK MIX ) 7. PHLANGE PHACE 8. DODECCAHEEDRON 9. ANALOGUE BUBBLEBATH 1 10. METAPHARSTIC 11. WE HAVE ARRIVED ( APHEX TWIN QQT MIX ) 12. WE HAVE ARRIVED ( APHEX TWIN TTQ MIX ) 13. DIGERIDOO LIVE I know that this is not nor trance nor ambient trance album but some rather hot, juicy electronica but I had to review it considering that i am listening to it right now and that still amazes me what kind of brain have done this briliant work back in 94. Richrad D. James is among the most creative, innovative and mad british electronic producers. After over 15 years of producing music and release of dozen of albums, this crazy, twisted fuckwit managed to penetrate our brains purely on sonic craft ways. After his brilliant Ambient works he did at the end of eighties and begininng of nineties, he started producing more demented stuff ever since I Care Because You Do crazy album before this one. Here, he is taking you onto another kind of trip, doing all sorts of musical manipulations, from minimalistic degenerated dementia to more naturalistic, profound art of noise. To me, this is one of his best works just because the level of harshness he developed here. All tracks sound experimental, especially mental. His alien or scientific titles of trax suggest trippy, mad landscapes this guy had in his brain. I like all songs on this album but the best are : DIGERIDOO ( simple but amazing ), PHLOAM, ISOPROPANOL, TAMPHEX ( mad, distorted crazyness ), DODECCAHEEDRON ( hypnotic, driving stuff ), ANALOGUE BUBBLEBATH, METAPHARSTIC...If you're looking for some creative noise and mess, this is the perfect album for you...9/10

Heh, you see ? Now, don't go and make the same bassline the others are using. Full on bassline is the most boring bassline I've ever heard. Even Boris Blenn aka Electric Universe started producing trance with the same bassline everyone else are using these days. That's a shame. I truly hope that full on will die soon cause it really started to be annoying...Good luck Digital Psyence ! But, please, make something innovative with skills you've got ! Cheers

I don't know it. Don't tell me that is A.C. Bousten himself....

SAAFI BROTHERS - LIQUID BEACH 2003 SAAFI RECORDS 1. SUMMERHILLS 2. THE GREEN CLOUD 3. SEVEN HORIZONS 4. FEELINGS PER ROOM 5. FUSEDUB 6. SUNCHILD 7. METAPOP ( After Morning Mix ) 8. LIQUID BEACH 9. LOVIN MUSIC ( feat. George Din ) 10. METAPOP ( feat. Dea Li ) Here is the third album by famous duo Gabriel Del Mar and Michael Kohlbecker. Beside the great effort, I still find this one their weakest, even though it is very good album. After Mystic Cigarettes being more on the progressive side and Midnight's Children in ambient this one goes into dub, lounge and chill realms. I like the concept of it but there are few songs with singing which aren't bad but they could have been done better. There is lots of very good songs on it and my favourite ones are : SUMMERHILLS ( a bit in their old style but much slower ), THE GREEN CLOUD ( soothing, relaxing ), SEVEN HORIZONS, FUSEDUB, SUNCHILD ( dubby, trippy and very solid )...As I said, this album is pretty good but finally their weakest effort by now. It is great album to chill at home with your friends, smoking some pot. Get it if you like distinctive mixture of dub, ambient and some lounge...8/10

No, she meant LSD...hehe...that is the drug that shouldn't be talked about. You should FEEL it for yourself.

This is perfect ambient album, maybe one of the best from that period. I find it extraordinary to blend different layers and styles and give totally new dimension of music listening, Sven Vath is putting us on. This solid, liquid journey will definitely take you on a trip. I like all the songs on the album, they all make perfect sense...10/10

Pretty good album but I don't find it extraordinary or something. I still find something lacking in few songs. I really like Ritual of Life, L'Esperanza, An Accident In Paradise but the rest don't grab me so much. I expected better from the master, but it is stil from 1992 so it is not that dissapointing...7/10

I think that lots of albums have concept of presenting some kind of phillosophy or trip or vision in a certain way. I like when everything makes sense without too much wanking.

Beside those being my favourite ones they actually were big hits for its time, just think about it...Heh

I am sure you've heard Juan & Domi & Jorg Rmx to this song which is longer and slightly better in fact.

I am somehow glad those years are over cause minimal started being produced in the best years of psychedelic goa ( 99, 2000 ) when Goa and psychedelic trance progressed and took the genre onto another level. Then, suddenly happend that bunch of hot shots are bored with music and they decided to make new outfit which I personally don't mind, just that it didn't hit so strong ( half of 00-01 releases were minimal ) and the previous genre was almost dead. By the 2002 standard goa and psychedelic trance died and clash between minimal and full on started. I think that no matter how many quality releases ( Delta, Spirallianz etc ) was released those years, trance genre and culture degradated and turned into constant desire for evil, nasty drums, crazy rhythms and pretentious darkness. I am not for that, i like dark stuff and gloomy atmospheres but to be negative, evil for nothing then it is lame...There is no opinion why we should think minimal is dead. There are still some minimal releases but to be honest such genre was impossible to last long just cause of its strange, noisy structure...

Musical - wise i prefer old sound, production - wise I like new sound better but I still ADORE old, roar, analogic sounding cause it goes perfectly with phillosophy of music made before. Maybe this so called EVOLUTION lies exactly in better production where people started to pay most of the attention on clear sounds and bunch of effects. Not that I mind that but there was before certainly more spirit and evolution I have to say. This new evolutionary thing is driving me mad, everyone keep talking about it like nothing from before ever was quality and they need to evolve something that was shit. Well, I am not in that area, I believe that most spiritual and enchanting and enlightening music was made before, especially 93-99. Those 6 years produced hundreds of synaesthetical, acid, melodic, mad, pumping, hard trance ever and I'd do everything to hear those harmonies, melodies, 303's back again these days...

I always liked Banco de Gaia especially his best album by now - LAST TRAIN TO LHASA. That is easily one of the best ambient albums. He managed to create certain world and atmosphere and his style is definately unique. I liked his other albums too : MAYA, BIG MEN CRY and IGIZEH...Great producer !

Hey, thanks dj nemo, I'll try to look for it...

I didn't mean to sound harsh, I just reacted cause there are so many new commers that just wait to 'learn' to make music and then go and release an album with a little help of their friends within months. I am sorry Digital if I sounded rude, but that wasn't my intention... And, yes, those artists do make psy and full on music...Cheers
