I also find options a bit narrow. I like practically all of the trance genres but there are ones I prefer than the rest : GOA TRANCE, PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE, Old FULL ON ( Passenger, Xerox & Freeman, Pigs In Space, etc ), but I do like lot of things from PROGRESSIVE and New FULL ON.

I heard that Flying Rhino were quitting some time ago but I haven't heard anything about it. What happend to that stunning label ? What happend to Blue Room ? Also dead ? I know that Matsuri is dead for some time and Phonokol is releasing only full on these days. Dragonfly releases cool progressive trance these days. It is not bad but it surely isn't the old feel. TIP shifted to TIP World making it commerical full on label as well. Once one of the greatest labels around had to sell out or bancrupt cause hot shots trance heads got bored with music ? Bad choices have to say. Well, I am still glad that Tranceform Records is open and that 3D Vision is still functioning even though Christophe decided to make separated label. I know that nothing lasts forever but look how one ambitious label like Yellow Sunshine Explosion expanded so fast. Hey, they made 30 comps in 3 years which is not bad but you can 'hear' average tones of pretentiousness. When can we hear some fresh, unpretentious label that is only specialised in releasing quality, no nonsense music ?

This second album by Solar Fields is slightly more progressed than prevoius one and I can say even better. Here is also crystal clear production with soothing melodies and chilling atmosphere. This is after Carbon Based Lifeforms second best album from Ultimae. I like all songs and I won't go song by song. If you apppreciate your brain, you should get this album cause it is great for tuning your brain. My favourite songs are : CONFUSION ILLUSION, COSMIC DESSERT, MAGIC EYE, INFECTION 268-7 ( prog trance song ), MAGNETIC AIR, BLUE MOON STATION, PLANET ZOO...10/10

EPICENTRE 10.ARTIFICIAL ISLAND 11.REFRACTION This brilliant album was released last year and it is by any means one of the best ambient albums from last year. It has really soothing melodies, smooth structures and overall very peaceful feeling. I like all songs on the album. I won't go song by song cause there isn't so much to describe. They all sound very crisp with immense production. Crystal clear sounds and effects make this album a pure bliss. It is the best for chill outs after parties or for early mornings. Get it if you like your brain to float and travel in infinite spaces. Best on album : CENTRAL PLAINS ( ! ), NEUROTRANSMITTER, HYDROPHONIC GARDEN ( ! ), EXOSPHERE ( ! ), ARTIFICIAL ISLAND...10/10

I finally got it and I have to say that I am also dissapointed. I knew everything about the album before I got it, but now, after I heard it, I can't say I am furious as lots of people here, I just feel that this album is trivial. CHAOS is not bad but it has those silly build ups which I am sick of. NILAYA is not bad too but you can barely hear the original by the end. Only last one minute you can say that this is the remix of that song. DANCING GALAXY is not bad but far from original. POWER GEN is the BEST on an album and it is actually the best remix I've heard in a long time...PERFECT ! LET THERE BE LIGHT is not bad, it has silly begining but the ending is pretty good though. PEOPLE CAN FLY is one of the weakest on album and it is totally ruined. Shame. VIDIONS OF NASCA is actually not bad at all. It has nothing to do with the original but I like the strucuture of it. He made it as progressive psychedelic track and how it is, it is not bad at all. AURORA BOREALIS by Deedrah is second best on album and I quite like it. LIQUID SUN remix is the weakest on album and I really don't want to say anything else about this song. MAHADEVA rmx is another best one on album. JOOF made perfect morning remix of Mahadeva 99, very entrancing and melodic...PERFECT...Best on album : 4 ( !!! ), 7, 8 ( ! ), 10 ( !! )...6/10

CRAZY RELEASE ! This is an ultimate journey into the primal realms. Very trippy and heavy release. One of the best ambient albums. No more words.

TOUCAN 10.EPILOGUE I am sure that probably all of you have heard about this album or even own it but I had to put a review for all those that haven't heard and are interested in origins of trance music. So, if you're looking for good trance album you should get this one. This is a classic from early period and it is real shame they only released one album. Simon Berry from Art Of Trance and Claudio Giussani from Terra Ferma released this album before they started making separately. You can clearly hear distinctive sounds of Simon Berry and clear melodies from Claudio. Practically all songs except ambient ones were released as singles and became enormously popular : TWO FULL MOONS AND A TROUT was the biggest hit and it is still great psychedelic melodic track. RED HERRING is another melodic and fresh classic. FROMAGE FRAIS is also amazing with delicous melodies and very good atmosphere. LOLLIPOP MAN was also released before, on Platipus Vol. 1 and it is pretty good. CACTUS was also huge hit, being released on numerous compilations. The only song I didn't like so much is NO LIFE CAN SURVIVE HERE. It is completely different than the rest of the album and has some dark feeling which title suggests. WATER DRUMS has good production and melody but the singing ruins it. THERE WILL BE NO ARMAGEDDON is the best ambient song on an album and it actually sounds like it has been made these days. The production of this song might be the best on album. TOUCAN is another very good ambient song. Overall, this album is a classic if only they skip those 2 songs from it. The rest is pretty amazing...9/10

It is very good album but it surely isn't classic. He did stunning mastering and very good production, but I expected it to be slightly more psychedelic. OK Computer is so good and very drifty, it is maybe the best song on album but I also liked Robot.O.Chan and Universe. Snakes And Ladders and Samothraki are pretty good as well...You should buy it if you like variable music. 7/10

PURITY This is definately the last Goa Trance album released, and it is not even an album but rather compilation of singles brilliantly arranged. Dave Young is after Simon Posford the best Goa Trance producer from UK. His music is absolutely original and very epic structured. His philosophical approach to compositions and arrangements brings special feeling to your listening making it more experienced and layered. Every layer he uses is used exactly on time, on its place and for the right reason. There isn't slight bullshit in his forms and no experimenting. His straight forward melodic structures really bring a lot of excitement and maturity. After releasing 2 official albums : VIRTUAL SPIRIT from 97 and ANNO DOMINI from 99 he released compilation of singles that can be easily mixed with the album as well. If we don't count previously released songs this can be his best effort, but he then made EARTH CROSSING, an album that has never been released cause no one wanted to buy it. So, after pretty mature but not enough mastered debut he released classical album ANNO DOMINI which was entirely focused on dark gloomy times with incredible atmosphere and sounds. This album goes even further than that, shifting you to another dimensions, universes with every next song on it. BEYOND THE SINGULARITY is amazing piece of music. Not entirely goa trance this epic song has mature melodies followed by strong kick and drums. SUB- ATOMICA is good but I find it the weakest on album. Then comes very well known CELESTIAL which is brilliant goa trance song. EYE AM THE I is his most popular single ever released and this song don't need any description, simply BEST. Then comes THE FLAME, the first version of the song which he later remixed it and called it THE FLAME OF ETERNAL LIFE. This is an amazing song, one of the best on album as well. C 12 is also previously released and it is pretty good. Then comes another PERFECT song - ANIMATRIX. What a masterpiece. One of the best compositions ever made with amazing effects, drum machine and melodies ! PURITY is amongst best goa trance songs of all time for me, also very well known. This is an amazing collection, everyone should own it no matter the tastes...10/10

If you are looking for new releases in groovy, morning style I also suggest Protoculture, Jirah, Human Blue, Space Cat - Mechanical Dream, Wizzy Noise - Stereo Electric but I prefer old epic, groovy releases : Chi - A.D, Tim Schuldt, Elixir, Oforia, MFG, Talamasca, Pigs In Space, Cydonia, X - Dream ...You have numerous compilations : 3D Vision - Psychedelic ( extremely psychedelic, melodic voyages through Earth ), Matsuri - The Truth Of Communication ( great old school melodic comp ), Symbiosis - Accidental Occidentalism ( brilliant epic structured goa trance ), Symbiosis - Balagan ( great old school as well ), Transient - Psychedelic Visions ( collection of great groovy classics ), Transient - Transient 2 & 3, Sub Terranean - Pulse 1 & 2 & 3 ( this three comps consist the cream crop of goa trance ) and there are many more but this should do for now...

Yes, Tangerine Dream are kings of ambient but only early worx, till 1980, then they started making new age which I don't like at all but their first efforts were mindblowing : ELECTRONIC MEDITATION, ALPHA CENTAURI, ZEIT, PHAEDRA, RUBYCON...

I like choice of tracks but so many songs don't go one after another. I like the idea of mixing the best that came out of Israel but they could made slightly better choice of music. Even some mixing is pretty bad.

The Orb is one of the best ambient/dub groups ever. They managed to create special world with unique style, demented sounds and crazy constructions. Beside ULTRAWORLD, their certainly best album is ORBUS TERRARUM. Amazing piece of music. I also recommend UFO.RB...another gold album and ORBLIVION...They also released numerous singles and remixes and they simply rock. Their latest efforts aren't that good though : CYDONIA and BICYCLES. Very poor melodies and lots of singing, quite boring actually...But their albums from 91 to 01 are simply amazing. Get them if you want good, trippy ambient soundscapes.

CRAZY PEOPLE If you are serious trance listener than you probably already own this album od heard some tracks cause this guy really makes perfect trance. Claudio Giussanni was former member of Union Jack along with Simon Berry from Art Of Trance. He made his debut album and it is absolute bliss. The crispy, acidy trancey melodies are across the whole album and I can say that the album is quite spiritual. He blended perfect sounds with mesmerising melodies and created special world and ambience like no one else did. I can say that this album is pretty original. If you like gentler and spiritual trance state you would certainly like this album. LUNAR SUNRISE is an enchatnting piece of music where FIRE gets more into the tribal, psychedelic realms. THE SCREAM is one of the best on album; it is wild, acidy, fast and very energetic. VISIONS continues in psychedelic spirit and it is quite catchy. THE POET is another great, intelligent tracks but then comes maybe the best track on album - FLOATING. Huh, what a beautiful morning, melodic song. It was the biggest hit from the album and you probably have heard it. THE SNAKECHARMER continues in tribalic mood but then comes PLANET OGO, another melodic, classy piece of music. CRAZY PEOPLE closes album and it is pretty stunning as well. Overall, great album, perfect debut..I give 10/10 for sure
