Are you new born ? Did you started listening to trance yesterday ? If you only know for those two groups, then you really need to expand your horizons, cause the range is pretty wide...Yes, Astral Projection could have been called Goa but Infected surely can't. Astral is actually not making Goa as they used to be ( Trust In Trance, Astral Files, Dancing Galaxy, Another World ) but rather some progressive psychedelic and Infected Mushroom was from the start very psychedelic and didn't have any oriental influenced melodies and drum patterns. Goa is based on oriental, pretty wild and quirky psychedelic trance from the early period ( 94-97 ) where slowly evoloved to more psychedelic realms ( 97 -00 ) after which proceeded to more progressive or minimal style ( 00-02 ) and return to full on, but in much progressed way ( 02-04 ), so there aren't any more artists that produce real Goa Trance. But, there are heaps of "oldies" that still sound very professional, brilliant and quality like : MFG - The Prophecy, New Kind Of World, Project Genesis, HALLUCINOGEN - Twisted, The Lone Deranger, TOTAL ECLIPSE - Delta Aquarids, Violent Relaxation, ETNICA - Alien Protein, Equator, PLEIADIANS - Identified Flying Objects, Family Of Light, DOOF - Let's Turn On, MIRANDA - Phenomena, PRANA - Cyclone, Geomantik, BATTLE OF THE FUTURE BUDDHAS - Twin Sharkfins, INDOOR - Progressive Trance, ELECTRIC UNIVERSE - One Love, Stardiver, COSMOSIS - Cosmology, Synergy, TRANSWAVE - Hypnorhythm, Helium, Phototropic, and like many many more great albums, you just need to dig deep and to discover great Goa Trance albums that were made before...Good Luck in finding them...

I don't believe I hadn't mention those too, Moongoose, where was my head ? Yeah, and Lemmi, remixes can be pretty amazing, some are even better than original...But to me, the most successfull remixes are Blue Planet Corporation - Antidote ( Pleiadians Rmx ), Juno Reactor - Feel The Universe ( Koxbox Rmx ) which is in some way better than original, Faithless - God Is A DJ ( Astral projection Rmx ) which is also better than original, or Shakta - Lepton Head ( Deedrah Rmx )...BTW, Lemmi, that wasn't the remix of LSD but more rework by Ott... I consider remixes songs where you still have bits from the original, but differently structured and mixed... The remix of Voodoo People was also done by Eskimo and Skazi i think...

I agree about Psyside but I can't say they made goatrancey songs but rather some more melodic ones...I can suggest Psydrop's Fantasy Seeds that exactly sounds how you described it...The other ones are some Nissimyani stuff, he made Peyote that is pretty good too...There is some new guy called Jirah...Huh, he is pretty good too, lots of tribal sounds, old feel and fresh bassline...Haven't heard whole of his album but 2 songs I heard especially Return is pretty good...I hope that new Total Eclipse sounds like that, I haven't heard it but check it out too...

Yep, I have to agree...Instead of staying at least slightly in the old way, with which the group would actually accomplish more then any others these days, they had to change, to "fullfill" someone else's desires...I don't know whose ones but they certainly won't fullfill the deisres of their real fans...Let's all cincerely hope that they would still surprise us...

Yeah, I hope they do reach him but the album is almost finished and single Inner Space was good but nothing spectacular, like some cyber full on sounding...I really hope they release much more complicated album than that...

Well, I truly hope that GOA hasn't died, but from global perception of electronic music nowadays, everyone expects high class production, less melodies, strong kicks and AS DARK AS POSSIBLE ! That's why I'm furious and willing to argue about it cause there is a lot of people that are just defending all this as EVOLUTION in sound...hehehe...I haven't heard more silly thing. I am for evolving but not for making the evolution as fashion and suppressing the old sound. I am glad that there is still someone making GOA since there hasn't been any GOA album since Chi-A.D. - Infinitism that wasn't even a proper album but collection of singles...Last real GOA albums were Dimension 5 - Second Phaze ( 2000 ), Ra - To Sirius ( 2000 ) and I have to say that I haven't heard Ethereal yet... But, just keep the tradition Fredrik... I'll get your album as soon as possible...

So what if they sound like Shpongle? I am always for keeping the tradition of style...Of course that there cannot be another Shpongle but they are good as Entheogenic...Some people are so negative just for sake of being negative. Yes, they use a lot of voice samples but to me they were only annoying in one track...Every other track was actually beautifully structured and edited...

That was pretty cute definiton, but for example there is this thread I posted about Chi-A.D. The guy hasn't released his album cause label managers don't want to publish old school goa album. COME ON ! I don't see any evolution there...IN fact, I can call it REGRESSION rather than PROGRESSION if some money hungry idiot is dictating who is going to release something on his label. If he only supports making and producing ONE STYLE of music that these days is FULL ON or PROGRESSIVE then there isn't any evolving but deliberate KILLING the old sound which I find disgraceful considering that everyone are raving these days about EVOLUTION, EVOLUTION, EVOLUTION... Yes, sure is evolution if you can't give more chances...Maybe, I could understand that they don't want to publish some trance that amateurs did, but hey, that is CHI-A.D. for god sake ! Yes, those 2 artists make perfect philosophical old school goa trance and they should be the first ones to rule this scene. Ra made one brilliant album, promised another two and then poof, disapeared ! I haven't even read any interview or heard any news from him after reading his interview from this site...He probably had the same problems as Chi-A.D. cause he was also into old school...Now it makes sense to me how there aren't ANY old school releases these days...The label owners are bunch of commerical hippies that after they've seen that more and more people are into trance they decided to make some money after being underground for years...What a shame ! I guess that SYN SUN suffer from the same problem in releasing an album for so long...They also make old school and they are pretty bloody good !

Yes, Rotating Fields is great ! It is old Etnica style in new form...Blinded Moon is just great as well... What a shame they cut in half and now producing monotonous trance. I have to admit that Starship 202 was cutish come back of Etnica but I don't think it will stay like that...
