Infected Mushroom - Original releases you own?
seraph replied to psytones's topic in General Psytrance
Only first two albums, which is quite enough. Yeah, I miss BP Empire. -
Hopes for the best.

Found it ! Hillarious, crazy music, like freestyle electronica... most of the stuff sounds just random but they were trippin' a lot that's for sure.
-
Wanna hear it.

Uh, never heard of them but you gave us perfect description, esepcially according to my taste : trippy, minimal, trancey, funny... Yum !

Yeah, I also have POCKET UNIVERSE and few other singles from them, they are crazy... I will look for more of their albums, they know what are they doing.

SAAFI BROTHERS - HIGH MOON -
SAAFI BROTHERS - SUPERNATURAL 2007 AYIA NAPA 1. SUPERNATURAL PART II 2. READY FOR THE RISE 3. UNDER THE SUN 4. FRANKFURT BEACH 5. TAKE IT SLOW 6. TWO WINDOWS 7. LUNATIC 8. HIGH MOON 9. SOMETHING OUTSIDE 10. UNDER THE STARS 11. SUPERNATURAL 4 years after their previous one LIQUID BEACH, Saafi Brothers are ready than ever. Awesome, stunning release ! One of the best albums this year. Ambiental, downtempo themes, very atmospheric feel, nice vocals, and still true to themselves. This one sounds like a crossbreed between MIDNIGHT'S CHILDREN and LIQUID BEACH. I was really wondering whatever happend to them, considering Gabriel Le Mar released many albums in between, I was waiting for 4 years for this to come out and I was waiting for another solid release by masters of smooth downtempo with dub and trance influences. This albums is perfect for making love, with sliding pads, pleasant harmonies and haunting vocals, really can't get better than this. While Liquid Beach was more in dubby realms, this one goes more experimenting with various electronic genres but still remaining ambiental and dreamy. Some tracks are even trip hopish, some have solid groove, some are very gentle and clear. Album not to miss. Best tracks : SUPERNATURAL, UNDER THE SUN, LUNATIC, HIGH MOON, UNDER THE STARS, SOMETHING OUTSIDE... 9/10

Really solid, stunning album ! Top notch production, nice atmospheres and I agree with Oopie, Eroison is one of the best tracks of 2007, mellow, clubby, melodic prog bliss. Ambient tracks are so delicious, in factwhole album sounds delicious. Much better effort than previous one Archipelago. 8/10

The Most Influential Psytrance Songs of All Time

You are somehow right about MFG, but take WHY ? which is for me huge, massive track, and I noticed that innovation of this track is such dirty, cyber feel, I haven't heard such psy cyberpunk style before ( in fact whole album has the same feel ), but for Magnetic Activity you are right. As for UX, Life Support Technology is a stunning track, but Master Of The Universe was bigger hit and has much more complicating structure, music wise and for sure was influential for industrial/psytrance crossover. -

Your list sums it up nicely, but I would go even a bit earlier and beginning of 90's to see who influenced the psychedelic trance musicians... DANCE 2 TRANCE - WE CAME IN PEACE ( 1990 ) - The very beginning of mellow trance, later defined as old school trance, very warm introduction to it. HARDFLOOR - ACPERIENCE ( 1991 ) - Huge acid track, the very beginning of acid trance, massive, defining track. ENERGY 52 - CAFE DEL MAR ( 1993 ) - Need I say more ? SVEN VATH - L'ESPERANZA ( 1993 ) VERNON - WONDERER ( 1993 ) CYGNUS X - SUPERSTRING ( 1993 ) HARDFLOOR - TRANCESCRIPT ( 1993 ) SPEEDY J - PEPPER ( 1993 ) DER DRITTE RAUM - STELLA ( 1994 ) EARTH NATION - ALIENATED ( 1994 ) ART OF TRANCE - GLORIA ( 1994 ) SVEN VATH - THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST ( 1994 ) UNION JACK - TWO FULL MOONS AND A TROUT ( 1994 ) AFROTRANCE - SPIRITUAL ENERGY ( 1994 ) BRAINCHILD - SYMMETRY ( 1994 ) PLASTIKMAN - KRAKPOT ( 1994 ) -
I don't want to get to excited, but yeah... FLYING RHINO COMEBACK ! :posford:
