NO. It was invented by psychiatrist Humphrey Osmond. Yes, Shpongle is very psychedelic. No obvious melodies, and a lot of manipulation all the time.

It means "sounds like things don't sound in real life". That is, unlogical melodies instead of obvious ones, a lot of stutters and tempo changes for no reason, and general chaos.

Overrated.
