Hahahah! Absolutely not. Most of those are just there a dime a dozen psyambientists. There are a couple of artists that can rival Shpongle though in the ambient section, and they are:
Steve Roach
Future Sound Of London
and Phutureprimitive.
That's it.
If something sucks and blows, it's good. (at least if it's a... no, corny joke, not saying more)
But yeah, blows means sucks. Means is bad. Er.
Confused!
Namely Shulman's both works. I got a few of the tracks and it sounds suddenly rather awesome! Sadly I'm pretty low with the money currently...
Should I? Or should I download them and buy them later?
Also, any other comments on Shulman's music?
Goa:
Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy
Juno Reactor - Beyond The Infinite
Man With No Name - Teleport (single)
Psy:
Luomuhappo - Pogomatic Pogomen 3000000
Planet B.E.N. - Trippy Future Garden
Chillout:
Phutureprimitive - Sub Conscious
The Infinity Project - Mystical Experiences
Shpongle - Are You Shpongled?
Celtic Cross - Hicksville
Mystery Of The Yeti Part I and II
Future Sound Of London - Lifeforms
I was only expecting some tasty, acid-drenched madness of Luomuhappo's CD... and was pretty damn surprised by the tracks Rauhaa Veljet and Haapaneitty. Both are pretty damn good, almost enchanting. A very unique brand of chillout.
...or is it? What similar tracks/artists are there?
No, it's the other way around. Ott is the master musician while Shulman just takes fragments of other artist's stuff, and makes a somewhat acceptable soup out of them.
I just listened to his first CD. Unlike all of the others, this one really made my go "whoah". I ordered it directly... but where did this edge go? Why does he only make cheap trash nowadays?
