  1. I finally had a chance to listen to a few tracks from this, AND I LIKE!!! Yesss, very very good.
  2. Hi everybody God, those albums suck for the most part I will be uploading the original .dss tunes later this summer to the website so people can render their own versions then, since now Dreamstation is freeware Before that, I don't want to touch the site that much, and anyway have zero time to work on it.... But the plan is to have also the original .psy modules for the last three albums... So the music will be totally open source!
  3. I'm supercharged just thinking about this festival! Last SOJ in Crimea was totally a blast, I invite everybody to come here... I'll try to finish as many new tracks as possible before this
  4. Many Sandman tracks used to have SID sounds, they are not maybe that evident in a cliched arpeggio style, but he was using the SID Station a lot, himself he stated that it is used on almost every track IIRC. That was around 2001 or so I think... There is also one track from him from around 98 that has more typical SID sounds in the end, but I don't remember the name now. I think it was on LP only, or maybe some comps. Otherwise... Not so many psy acts out there in this style. Huopatossu Mononen has some cool chiptune styles, but maybe not totally puristic SID sounds. I'm sure there's some on some other finnish tracks too. And, well, there's of course my music. This is a recent one, the arpeggio is Synth1, and there might be some sounds sampled from SID Play, but no real sounds either... http://www.aavepyora.net/music/bizarroworl...kaukana_maa.mp3 And this is a remix of Hubbard's Thalamusic I made, but most people wouldn't call it psy thou: http://www.aavepyora.net/music/otokkamanif...605_Sanxion.mp3 The sounds are sampled from Sidplay again, so it's a fake too in that way. And what is psytrance anyway? Sienis has some nice SID style stuff, and there's of course Instant Remedy on kwed.org... And Mahoney made also some totally kick ass SID remixes, check out his EVERY track RIGHT now http://www.ejeson.se/mahoney/ Especially Spellbound - Swing Mix v2 is a total riot!
  5. Unikos: Yeah that's my experience too, a LOT of people who otherwise never listen to trance or even electronic music like my albums... I think it's way cool Dunno how to pronounce... Wait: Aa - just a long aaa Ve - like in "VEntilation" Py - like in "PYgmy" ö - like in .. mm. like in... it's a vowel in the extreme front of your mouth, I think the English doesn't have it. but it's the same than as in Swedish & German r - like in "rattle", but again, harder and less melodious than in english ä like in "rAnsack" Yeah I'm happy with the outcome too! And now: commencing work on my own album, trying to have it out at the Space of Joy Solstice festival in Altai in August...
  6. http://books.google.com/books?id=KZvCAAAAC...white&hl=sv Seems pretty interesting, the first sociological approach to the trance culture...

Kopfuss Resonator- Spec-r-Module - 0e
  9. Baah, even looking at that pile almost brings tears to my eyeys :/ And, aaargh, I really really really want to hear those early TIP Project releases one day... And the same goes for the few first Mindfield EPs...
  10. Ah, I'm definitely a level 15 eso-goan/it all used to be better before/producer/roots/technology/pure enjoyment guy (yes, the type that does trash!)/rasta pose.. oops let's remove that last one type Does this make me the ultimate stereotype? But I still like prog.
  11. My point of view as somebody who has been doing this for over five years now: I get something between 600-900 downloads a month for the latest album, but it took me about a year to sell 100 CDs from my site (and some in parties) for 10e apiece, including postage. A part of the problem is tricky net payments. Paypal is OK, but IIRC they leech almost one euro for each CD i sell Then there's direct bank transfers, which should be OK inside EU at least. (for some reason Belgians especially are fond of these?) So one trick could be to find a real distributor for the CD so people could buy it in normal record stores. The CDs I sell are factory made CDRs with nice enough sleeves and disc graphics, and I would say that 99% of the people don't know or care about the difference to pressed discs really. I believe that modern factory-made CDRs are supposed to last quite well. Also I know that pirates of my CDs sell for about 20 bucks in at least one Moscow collectible record store. And dozens of Russian MP3 sites sell downloads of my music, which is indicative of a fan base large enough, that some people don't even realize that they could download the same music for free from our site... And actually I've been talking to somebody who actually bought such a pirate just to get it in audio quality... The mysterious "audio quality" religion is deeply rooted in the scene. I would say that 320kbs MP3s have practically no difference to the originals, especially with the kind of soundsystems people use usually to listen to the music... I have some pretty fanatic fans in East Europe and Israel especially, but the thing is that young people these days are not used to buying CDs... Granted, there's some people who said to me that my CD is the first "DJ" album they bought just because they love the music so much, but these are a minority. In fact, I haven't seen too many original CDs in the last year of travelling (even at the organisers' houses!), if I think about it... And even CDRs are getting redunant because some DJs only play from Traktor. "No worries about scratched discs anymore"... So from my experience, I would say that don't have too high hopes for selling free releases these days... (and judging from discussions with my label owning friends: good luck selling _any_ CDs these days!) As I see it, by distributing free music, I push out around 10000 copies yeach year in the best scenario, and add to this the fact that many MP3s I see of my music are NOT from our site, for some reason or another, so in total there is probably around 50-100K people each year receiving my album, when counting for all the copies people spread to their friends and so on... And yes I DO have some ideas about turning that amount circulation into money... But that will have to wait until I have my next album ready...
  12. Yai, it's out! The Astroes have long been one of my favourite Finnish artists, gotta check this out definitely Based on the old tracks moving around in the net, and the live shows I've seen, I would recommend this very much to people who're into the more dry, crunchy british sound of the old like Psychaos, Technossomy etc. And the best thing is, it's not just a manneristic new go at goa like most of the new music people call "goa" influenced these days...
  13. Aa the Substance version lacks the fluoro covers, it\s sad :/
  14. Ah TBL, their demos were always the shit! And probably some of the first acid trance I heard back in 1997 or so...
  15. Check them out! They really really really really really have that oldschool vibe, more than almost any current artist I think. WHY is it possible that I've never heard of these guys before? Or is it just because they seem to be a bit outside the scene that they have a different sound? And they have a ton of albums out even?! ADN OMG OLDSCHOOL ACID RIFFS Hmm defioite traces of Planet BEN & german acid trance... Great! And that lovely garage sound http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendid=73418972
  16. Why is it so fucking ugly? (as are most trance albums, in fact...) Anyway, it seems fantastic, gotta get one for sure
  17. Haha, I think he has too much business sense to not go to selling them from his home Actually I asked about the comp like a week ago, and he said he might release it... But dunno, he doesn't seem to be too excited about trance anymore :/ keeps talking about how industrial and ebm is going to be the new trance
  18. Huopis reserved! And yes Discogs was down or smt when I made this topic... Will fix now.
  19. Earth Trance 15€ (the ONLY release of Hallucinogen's Orphic Resonance I know of) The Colours of Shiva 1 30€ (a bit battered digipak, TIP Yellow + Orange. the first goa CD I bought, but shit it's going anyway. this is the single physical object that lead me into doing goa in the first place...) The Colours of Shiva 2 30€ (TIP Blue & Phosphorescent) Huopatossu Mononen - Monoverse 20€ (the original CDR release, LONG since sold out! for all U suomi fans...) *R* Oforia - Delirious 12€ Order Odonata 3 - 12€ Digital Sun - Spiral of Power 10€ *R* Ka-Sol - Fairytale 8€ Trance Siberia Express 8€ Indoor - Progressive Trance 8€ (Avatar) Gaia 1+2 5€ A Taste of Trust in Trance 5€ Kopfuss Resonator - Spectr@ Module 5€ The World of Goa trance 0€ And of course Goddess Guerrilla goes for 10€ each There's still a few dozen left...
  20. Wow, there should be no problems with the email. But you can always PM me... And no there's no Hedningarna remixes, I've done two for Gjallarhorn and one for Falsobordone though. And now there's also a new ethno remix underway for one certain nice Portuguese group... And hah that's funny about the metal comment: Et In Arcdia Ego actually WAS originally a melodic black metal track, and the melodies were played live on a keyboard. All this of course before I took the material and mangled it into this crazy techno pop of mine ;D But Nino, the guy who wrote the original melodies, has a very nice metal band these days, check it out: Raakku I'm also making a new remix for them probably at some point, so be prepared for some more sounds of doom. ACID DISCO ARCADE DOOM!!11111!! Oh and now is a good time to buy more albums, I'm fucking broke
  21. Dunno about hotcakes... EFP sold 100 copies, Goddess Guerrilla maybe 50 so far. Anyway, it's not because of the sales I'm doing this (well, of course unless we would be talking about insane sales, that would actually make any difference to my budget...thank you socialdemocrats, for creating a country where I never have to worry about money...<g>) It's always encouraging to see what people think about my music The new album will be probably quite different, and also it will take some time probably to finish it, I have 0 tracks so far, since I haven't written any music for months... Being too busy with other art/craft projects.. But yes except to hear more peaceful & folk/ethno influenced sounds... And also probably a piece of techno, been digging Midimiliz, Horns&Hoofs & so on every now and then probably...
  22. What say you? Both Elektro Fluoro Punx and Goddess Guerrilla are available as factorymade CDR but that does not count as a release IMO Hmm I guess I am one of those free music guys, and certainly for my own part I can say that I couldn't care less for "being discovered", I just want people to enjoy my music. Also I couldn't care less for some small underground release since that way I would probably only lose listeners in regard to that individual release. The new album was downloaded way over 1000 times in under one week when it was released, I wonder how long it would have taken to sell as many albums? The only kind of release I would be interested in would be one involving crazy amounts of money with complete artistic freedom. Since I have everything I want & need already So small amounts of money would not change anything... The limit would be enough to buy my own pience of land in some remote place and fuck all this urban shit So how is it, I wonder what psy label would pay me X0,000€ for a release %-) Come on, you can have unlimited publishing rights, you can have me make full-on, whatever, I'm for sale
  23. All 25€ apiece, except 20€ for Pulse 3. CDs in my usual good condition. FYI, it''s the German re-release of 1: TIP Yellow & Orange 2: TIP Blue & Phosphorescent 3: TIP 3D & Singles 1 *R* Pulse 3 is also just a killer! *R*
