  1. Artist: VA Title: Dimensional Gateway 5 Label: Neogoa Records Date: December 2017 Tracklist:- 01 - Sun Sith - Arrival 02 - BlackStarrFinale - The Scattering 03 - Lectro Spektral Daze - I Ate Seven Of Them 04 - Xamanist - Star Forming Galaxy 05 - Maan - Field Quanta 06 - Third Eye Channel - Katarza 07 - Proxeeus - Nyarlathotep [Short Mix] 08 - Dragon Twins - Shattered Sense 09 - Negan - Wäwära Well wowie, If ever a compilation could fit into the theme of 2017 (Quality over quantity) this is it. Neogoa Records have released their 5th in a series of Dimensional Gateways. Unlike the dark portals of this world, defined by stability and assurance, dimensional gateways are like tunnels bored with unstable magic that can lead to bliss, new worlds or eternal imprisonment. One thing is for sure, the gateways will always be a journey. As a newbie to the genre it would be foolish of me to say something like ‘This has been quite the year for Goa’ But i’m young and foolish so. This has been quite the year for Goa. We’ve seen some pretty remarkable releases that have been top notch in terms of either production, originality, or nostalgia. While the review section for 2017 has been pretty empty most of what is here is gold. Sun Sith: … Holy shit. Sun Sith are Lunar Dawns Kristijan Ilisinovic and Sasa Precanica. Two lifelong friends who have dedicated themselves to absolutely blowing our minds with music. This has gotta be the darkest work of theirs. And i’m going to peg it as the track of the year. Blackstarfinale: Oh no, how is this melody going to work? Am i about to listen to pure aged chedder? Nope, you better not believe it. The scattering is a mix of uplifting twisted chopped and screwed bliss. Pretty freaking awesome how they work this track. Lectrop Spektral Daze: Yea you did LSD, you ate more than seven didn’t you? You ate a whole bag! Whats that? Only seven per bag? Oh well yea, you ate seven then congratulations! Some of us are too busy studying to just go and eat shrooms in Mexico. Great track, if you like drug references in your songs you’ll like this. Also if you like good songs, well this is one for you my friend. Beautiful beautiful track. Xamanist - Star Forming Galaxy: Every now and then i come across a track on a comp that makes me wonder why i passed that artists album up when i came across it. Progressive trance must have been the flavour of the month when i came across 7, but I tell ya, i’m going back to right my wrongs right after this review. A banging track and another one of my favourites. Aaaaah i love rolling basslines. Maan - Field Quanta: A nice driving bit of trance that starts with subtle bits of acid getting tossed around, easy to dance to though not the most unique track floating around with not much to differentiate it from other producers. The builds are all pretty fun though. Instead of leading to explosions of hysteria they end in slightly disappointing returns to the bassline. Katarza - Third Eye Channel: A less exciting track that gets points for being trippy, though without endless amounts of energy pulsing through it. More of a floating track then an arm flail enducing stomper. Instead of keeping your attention with hard melodies Katara mixes the beat up by skipping kicks and messing around with the basslines. Dragon Twins - Shattered Sense: Some spooky throat noises (Singing? chanting?) starts our journey into what is a remarkable track. The melody is insane, but then it disappears? I could have easily had another 6 minutes of that penetrating my cranium. Man i’m bitter about that, the lead was incredible. I guess that’s how some stories go. Proxeeus - Nyarlathotep (Short mix): We are lucky it’s easier to dance to Proxeeus’ tracks than pronounce them. Everytime i try I end up with a deep and very bad Estonian accent... The track is what you would expect from this wizard, awesomeness. Edit: Holy heck Proxeeus! That final 1.5 minutes. Negan - Warawa: Whats that? Fun basslines? Negan (Did Negans lose part of himself) has got us covered. The track is madness from start to finish, the acid lines are all over the place in the best of ways. Hare Krishna would have indeed been a bad boy. And we made it out the other side. Dimensional Gateways aren't so bad are they, 5 down and we are still kicking. I'm starting to think these things are more stable than i've been told. Wizards and their bullshit friends, just like politicians. https://neogoarecords.bandcamp.com/album/dimensional-gateway-5
  2. Can someone please help me in identifying the tracks on this mix,
  3. Artist: Frantic Noise Title: Trance Nodriza Label: Dark Prisma Records Date: 2017 Actual footage from inside the recording studio. Imagine every electrical appliance in your kitchen suddenly becoming conscious and deciding that a mechanical orgy of noise and sharp edges was best accomplished at 110 miles an hour. F*cking Benny Hill trance where the music lives up to the name of the artist. Why? How is this enjoyable? I just watched my toaster oven just hate-f*ck my can opener. If his mission was to make the most abrasive noise possible at the highest bpm well, mission accomplished. This isn't music you put on to feel good. This is what you use to flush out perps in a hostage situation. Remember how entertaining the Nordland Orchestra was? Yeah, this ain't that. Easily the worst thing I've heard this year. Psyshop
  4. Artist: VA Title: 604 Syndroms Label: Mamomam Records Date: January 2017 Tracklist 1. Zopmanika - Namaskaratha Mantra 9:27 2. Lectro Spektral Daze - Source Of All Life 8:26 3. Ephedra - Leaving the Shadow Side of Myself 7:03 4. Trinodia - Factorized 10:15 142bpm 5. Siam - Electric Discharge 8:13 6. E-Mantra - Unhcegila 7:25 7. Omnivox - Textures of Reality 8:51 8. Oxi - Sagittarius Love 6:33 9. Title 01 - Desert Ghost 9:13 CD 2. 1. Artha - Controlled (Old School Remix) 9:29 2. Space Element - Biotech 7:56 3. OmegaHertz - Zeta Zone 7:08 4. Jagoa - Rainy Saturday 7:41 5. Journey into Sound - Gallifrey 7:33 6. JaraLuca - Unexpected Experience 7:53 7. Omneon - Dark Matter 6:50 8. Ohm Mind - Mushroom Island 9:17 9. Proxeeus - Kuiper Belt 10:02 What’s that phrase again? Oh yea, DANCEFLOOR DESTROYER! Top notch kicks, I mean absolutely outstanding kicks, solid basslines and production like OMG. Spaced out layers without subduing leads, melodies and highs. Oh and that album cover. I tried to resist for weeks, but every time I saw it I got a little bit more curious. Probably the best example of dancefloor focused goa i've heard (Open to suggestions). Why is this important? All trance should be able to make it to a dancefloor and goa has to be the best form of trance I know. Yet it’s near impossible to hear played on a night out. Even Australian doofs choose hard chunky kick bass over acid leads and melody. I think the production of Goa has a lot to do with that, those soft spacey kicks can be and are great, they add a lot to a track and obviously are all part of the bigger picture in a song but it makes it unpalatable to the casual raver...You know, the ones that say ‘Fuck Yea! This is psytrance’ halfway through a Vin Vici set. Well, no longer will we allow that, not after 604 Syndroms. Storytelling, top notch production, distinct layers, atmospheric banger after banger dancefloor spectacular. Alright let's begin. Zopmanika - Namaskaratha Mantra - Oh yea, what a way to start a comp. I love me some vocals on a track, even better when it's an absolute stormer of a goa track. One of my favourites on the release if not my number 1. Lectro Spektral Daze - Source Of All Life - Somewhat of a generic intro, appreciate the lil’ vocal all the same. And then boom. The kick comes in hard. Plenty of psychedelia early on. Two tracks in and things are looking good. Ephedra - Leaving the Shadow Side of Myself - More vocals, jesus the Goa gods are looking down on us tonight. The intro is almost magical, but we ain’t here to daydream about the stars. Another stormer! Alright I won't say that anymore, from now let's just assume. Ephedra absolutely kills this track, from start to finish it had me moving. Bravo. Trinodia - Factorized - Look, we should allow a little bit of cheese in our diet, a little bit of cheese goes down just perfectly after a Moules Marinières. The production is just so clean it’s hard to complain and why would you? Factorized is fun, it’s hip and the kids are gonna love it! Darker synths come in towards the second half of the track, the melody changes up. Have a listen, just one won't hurt. Siam - Electric Discharge - Magic, I love how Siam builds this track. Fun bassline, Screeches all over the place working beautifully. One hell of a high powered electrical discharge infecting my ears right now and all i want is more. E-Mantra - Unhcegila - Ooh ok, I’m actually excited to review an E-Mantra track. First of all, this comp doesn’t need a fall back artist, just in case. E-Mantra clearly does, not, give, a, fuck, he smashes this track. All over it, up and down, caressing my synapses right to the end. Omnivox - Textures of Reality - I can’t figure it, but another favourites of mine. Great use of effects, sunny melody surrounded by squelches, dark atmospheres and a deep grumbling bassline. There it is, that's what I like about it. Oxi - Sagittarius Love - uh huh, pretty good until the break just before halfway through, and then it’s great. Blast off Houston. It’s a blazer. Title 01 - Desert Ghost - I spent me about 15 minutes trying to figure out who the actual artist of this track was….The breaks are pretty good. Non of the artists are going for builds and drops but in their own Goa-ry way it’s happening. A nice, crazy, fast, hectic finish to CD 1. And onto CD 2. I’m almost drooling to see what delites await us on the other side Artha - Controlled (Old School Remix) - Ok, so I wasn’t paying attention the first time I heard this and could not for the life of me figure out why it sounded so familiar. It’s also worth noting that Artha was the guy who fostered my relationship with the genre. So good sign yea? Different enough that it has me wondering which i like best…Right now I’m just thinking that all goa is the best TBH. Ah and that long ass break hasn’t been chucked out. Love it. Love it all. Space Element - Biotech - Ah raw acid all over the place (The leads damn it! I’m talking about the leads!!). Non stop charging trance that doesn’t let up. OOOOHHHHH that riff. One another classic that I shan't be forgetting anytime soon. OmegaHertz - Zeta Zone - Something a little different for us all. CD2 was meant to showcase the oldschool sound. If Artha’s track didn’t do it for you OmehaHertz has got you covered. I mean Personally i’m not getting the old school sound? Is it the strong focus on melody? If that's oldskool then the kids have got it all wrong. Zeta Zone is beautiful. My gosh. Jagoa - Rainy Saturday - Literally dealing with a 3 and a half minute build here until the track takes off, it’s a beautiful thing. “And no one had a bad trip” Perfect, melodic bliss. Gah that production, those 303’s that goa! I would buy this track alone for the price of this comp. But shhhh! Don’t tell the algorithms. Journey into Sound - Gallifrey - Another story focused banger. Journey really takes you somewhere special with Gallifrey. JaraLuca - Unexpected Experience - JaraLuca decides now is a good time to take is into Existential questioning. All worth it for what's to come... Look. Lets level with each other here. I want to stop praising each track. I really do. Everytime i start writing that a track is a little less than the others it goes and proves me wrong. Unexpected Experience isn't about to break my stride, in fact it adds to it. Another banger for the library. Omneon - Dark Matter - A dark broody psychedelic banger that has me feeling more than a little bit acidy (Not the leads this time). My only complaint, not nearly near damn long enough, but gee I can always just hit replay. Ohm Mind - Mushroom Island - So i wasn’t a big fan of ‘Birds Will go to Heaven’ I found it a little repetitive and less-ish. But boy did Ohm Mind just win himself a fan. This I thought I had all my favourites picked out until this came on. Absolutely ridiculous track that just goes and goes and goes. I obvs shouldn’t be speaking about favs before getting to Proxeeus so i’ll chill. Proxeeus - Kuiper Belt - THE TIME FOR CHILLING IS OVER!! Proxeeus, what have you done to me. This acid (Fuck i’m talking about the leads damn it!) drenched arpeggio master piece is a stormer. Typical Proxeeus style but just so so sooooo good. The track gets better and better as is expected with our man big Prox. I couldn’t ask for a better consumation than this. Thank you Proxeeus, thank you Mamomam. It’s as though every artist on here, some of them seasoned vets, took what they new about the way goa was being produced and just said. Not this time round baby. To be honest, if you’re looking for tracks that blow your mind and make you run around the room screaming “What was that! How’re they doing that!!!!!” Then it’s not gonna be this comp (Save for the final two pieces). But the production, focus and pounding drive of every single track here is outstanding. Absolutely worth a purchase. Mamomam have two goa releases under their belt and anything we can do to encourage them to push that number up is worth it. https://mamomamrecords.bandcamp.com/album/va-604-syndroms
  5. Artist: Various Title: Spirit of Goa Trance Vol. 2 Label: Fresh Frequencies Date: June, 2017 01. California Sunshine - Flying Eye Land (Remastered) (8:00) 02. Necton - Sliderglider (5:53) 03. Nova Fractal - Common Cold (Screwloose Remix) (8:06) 04. Omnivox - Silent Sweeper (9:35) 05. Trinodia - A11 (2013 Remix) (9:17) 06. Shakta - Lepton Head (Rigel Remix) (8:46) 07. Frost Raven - The Time Traveler (8:53) 08. Lectro Spektral Daze - Between Two and Twelve (9:21) 09. Nostromosis - Space Tribe Of Siberia (8:01) 10. 2Minds - Hindu (9:05) 11. PersiaVibe - Into The Space (7:16) 12. Radical Distortion - Radioastronomy (7:13) 13. Lucid Rainbow - Ebola (7:27) 14. OXI - Quasi Star (7:10) 15. Siam - Run to the Sun (7:23) 16. Judaika - First Encounter (9:22) 17. Psy-H Project - Precession of the Universe (Sonic Elysium Remix) (8:32) 18. Simply Wave - Insight (7:31) CAUTION: Spoilers ahead. Well let’s jump right in. This compilation is simply amazing. I’m still new to the scene and like lots of what i hear. However, the variety within this album is varied enough to keep you listening all week. None of the songs have particularly broody atmospheres (Not meaning they aren’t atmospheric) and they all have strong hard kicks (Still not sure how i feel about those floppy drawn out kicks. Fresh Frequencies are known for their progressive Goa compilations, the only one of which i've heard is their vol.3 2016 mix. The only other Goa they have released is of course vol.1 of this compilation set which I haven't heard but can only imagine is good. 01. California Sunshine - Flying Eye Land (Remastered) (8:00) - Cali Suns songs have a nice steady feel to them that seem to be hit and miss with me. This one was a miss. That being said it was a nice intro track into an album that gets better and better. 02. Necton - Sliderglider - A fun little track that is more than a little bit danceable. Plenty of bass, plenty of high hat builds and some lovely progression throughout the track. Considering what Fresh Frequencies normally deal with you can see why this made it on the comp. A nice addition at that. 03. Nova Fractal - Common Cold (Screwloose Remix) - I've never really given Nova a chance to blow my mind with his work nor have I heard the original track. Should I be reviewing a remix of a song I haven't heard before? (probably not) on it's own merit though This track is great, it's the right amount of crazy with plenty going on obviously done by someone with some serious skills. 04. Omnivox - Silent Sweeper - Omnivox jumps right into it. He takes you through a bunch of twists and turns expertly keeping you focused on the track which doesn't take long to take off. I wasn't a huge fan at first, maybe because it sounded familiar but his style has grown on me. No messing around, just that nice pounding Goa we all love. 05. Trinodia - A11 (2013 Remix) - One of my favourite track on the comp that has grown on me every time i listen to it. I haven't heard Trinodia before but damn this is a nice track. Slowly building up and up until it blows away your ego into the 21st dimension...Or something like that. 06. Shakta - Lepton Head (Rigel Remix) - A great bouncy track with a bouncy bassline that one could call repetitive if it wasn't so good. Another amazing track that doesn't give to much away to early. Every time you think he is going to drop a crazy melody he brings that sexy bassline back in until he finally lets you have it. 07. Frost Raven - The Time Traveler - Every compilation needs a squelchy zippy laser blaster of a song and this is it. I find some of the zips that come through a little repetitive and annoying, you have to try and not focus on them to much when they come through but hey! Who said travelling through time was going to sound pretty. Keep listening and the patience pays off and it all starts to make a bit more sense. 08. Lectro Spektral Daze - Between Two and Twelve - Look, not the best track on the album but also I can't find it within myself to dislike any Goa. It's all so good (I know right, I'm not really the right guy for a fair review). The track is nice enough and the world is still a better place for it. 09. Nostromosis - Space Tribe Of Siberia - Well well, Nostromosis doesn't waste any time giving you a taste of the melody that's about to be thrown at your face. What starts as a lush dreamy soundscape turns into a wild ride of sounds battling each other for dominance in this track. Then he does it. He gets a fist full of melody and aims right for you. It's a hit! and I love it. 10. 2Minds - Hindu - Oh baby! First of all I love a longer intro. Secondly I love a good bassline. Thirdly I find a lot of Goa producers opt out from any strong vocals, not 2minds. Fourthly...... Fuck it this whole track is great i like just about everything and while I wont mislead you into thinking this a vocal filled track (It's not) when they chanting does come in its good. Then that Scottish melody. For me it's a truly original track I haven't heard the likes of before. 11. PersiaVibe - Into The Space - PersiaVibe layers this track nicely with melodies coming up from underneath melodies almost perfectly. Another dreamy track that makes you feel like your doing floaty dances under the stars at 3 AM. 12. Radical Distortion - Radioastronomy - Mr Radical Distortion, my favourite producer from the Suncokreti comp, Radioastronomy reminds me why. Not the best track on the list but some good old relentless trance that makes you want to move. 13. Lucid Rainbow - Ebola - WHY! Why does the track have to end? I know it's all part of the master plan in making what is the second best track on the comp but i’d happily take a 20 minute version of Ebola. it's bouncy, it's jumpy, it's catchy. You've all been around a while, remember when you used to have melodies stuck in your head for days? weeks? years? This is that for me. 14. OXI - Quasi Star - Some strong pounding trance right into you is what you get with Quasi Star. I can see this being some people favourite track and I can see some people finding that they've heard it before. I dunno I reckon it's a great track worthy of any dancefloor. 15. Siam - Run to the Sun - Siam is Athenian John Pitsakis who hasn't been producing for as long as some of the names on the release. I might just say you can sooooort of tell. Not a bad track by any length but just feels like Siam is playing it safe. 16. Judaika - First Encounter - A nice acid filled symphony of sounds that bounces along beautifully. You get a reprieve from the acid here and there but not for long. 17. Psy-H Project - Precession of the Universe (Sonic Elysium Remix) - A track we might already be familiar with from Sonics Faster Stronger Higher album. My absolute favourite track on the release and an awesome remix of an already awesome song. Sonic E gives the track a bouncier feel (Dare I say more danceable than the original, which is saying a lot). The track doesn't lose steam one as it continues to progress into one non stop eargasm. 18. Simply Wave - Insight - As soon as Insight starts you know you in for a wild ride to finish this album out. No disappointment to be found here. A bit of an Artha sound if I do say so, but i'll take what I can get. The track is a banger and doesn't let up. Not. For. One. Moment. One of my favourites and another reason to get this compilation right this second. In summary, Stop wasting your time and get this compilations right now because if you do not get this right now then you are missing out on a big opportunity of beautiful fast pounding melodic goa that I know everyone on this website is going to find some good good within. You can't really compare this to the Mystery Worlds comp with the deep broody atmospheres, darker ambience and crazier twists and turns. I'd say more of a Legacy style Goa, a little lighter and way more dance oriented. 10/10 worth a listen Edit: - Links now added, sorry! https://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/frf/frf2cd025.html https://freshfrequencies.bandcamp.com/album/spirit-of-goa-trance-v2-frshcd025-fresh-frequencies

  7. Aritst: Various Title: Arborum Susurri Label: Banyan Records Date: 2017 1. Space Alien - Magic Moments 2. Senang - Free Your Soul 3. Noize Bug - Askeladden's Ferd 4. Etlainen - Rite of Passage 5. Ra Root - Dizzy Walk 6. Mandari - Cognitive Toilet Flush 7. Chudl & Vermo - Dark Side of Us 8. Raschka - Never 9. Praheya - Electro Angelic Wave Pulse 10. The Third Eye of Monkey - Menani "Isn't anybody here? Should we go inside?" Actual gif of me trying to escape whatever the hell is in this forest nightmare. I have never heard of this label nor any of the artists which are found on the track listing. The title I believe means "Forest Whispers" and this lush release lives up to that title. Everything about this release is dark from the trippy cover art to the music within. Bubbling sounds, eerie noises from every corner, and hallucination inducing atmosphere. Layer upon layer of delicious supernatural terror with psychedelic trees in motion all the while reaching for you with skeletal fingers. The music in each track refuses to remain stationary, constantly evolving with ever darker soundscapes. Each layer washing over you like a fresh nightmare. On the surface melodies would appear absent, but closer inspection will find them lurking underneath rumbling bass and kick. There are nine tracks, but if you buy the CD you get an extra one from the label. This is a very deep release which I enjoy discovering and separating each component. This is one of the best forest releases I have ever heard. Bravo. Psyshop Beatspace

    Sirian - Havona

Artist: Sirian Title: Havona Label: Merkaba Music Released: March 20, 2017 Tracks: 1. Angelic Embrace 2. Alchemedium 3. Íonú 4. Keepers of the Garden 5. The Fabric of Stars 6. Aontacht Cosmal 7. Golden Love 8. Somnambulist 9. Stranger of the Forest Alrighty, so I found Sirian through Merkaba's music page, as usual it's hard to find any great info about so we will just jump right into the review. 1. Angelic Embrace starts of with a nice little intro some talk about dimensions and time all that jazz. some pretty instrumentals come through and we get our first feel for a baseline coming in. 2.41 minutes in we get the kick and a very groovy bassline. A nice little melody comes through as we are taken on a journey through musical dimensions. The track is pretty hot, not a straight banger but a good intro into whats to come with some original melodies. 5/8 2. Alchamedium starts with another groovy intro. We are getting some great ambient Goa influences throughout this track, a lil voilin, a lil fiddle. I can;t tell but it's a nice change. 6/8 3. Íonú brings us another nice instrumental intro, some flute and string come in leading us to a little vocal about visions. Dancing to this track is a sinch, got a very early morning feel to it. The kick does start to feel repetitive which I know is a weird critique for a Goa track. I think the use of real world sounds probably makes it more apparent. 2.20 - Wait a minute! We get a very nice melody come at us. Aaaand i'm proven wrong straight away there is actually nothing repetitive about this track. I could just delete that comment but i'm writing as I go so I'll leave the journey here for everyone to read. A very floaty track from Sirian with clear highs and lows. The end vocals are lovely. A track you can dance or sleep to i believe. 6/8 4. Keepers of the Garden follows what seems to be an album theme of floaty intro's and then hits us with the sexiest bassline of the album so far. It's hot guys and gals, real hot. We get some lasers and soft vocals before some instruments come in to take us away. The track transitions nicely from beginning to middle nothing super exciting to throw us off the direction it's gonna take but that's just a personal thing that i appreciate. A taste of electric guitar does however leave me hoping for more. The final ambient break leads into a burst of vocals and strings, the under tone of electronic sounds (I don't know my sounds well enough to tell you if it's acid lines or what not) but it's electronic subtetly is nice addition however, it does leave me thinking the album could do with a little more elctro influences. 7/8 5. The Fabric of Stars gets to business a little faster than the rest of the tracks so far. The flute over the kick is nice but lacking a little psychedelia. For those who love that ambi-unce i'm sure you'll like this track. Very fine-tuned and a little busier than the other tracks so far which is most certainly a big ++PLUS++. Oh and that Didgeridoo, I am yet to hear some didg in trance that i don't dig. The track doesn't take you on any great journeys but still managers to come out with some stomping melodies. They don't all last as long as I would like but the track progressions makes up for it, it all fits together so well. 6/8 6. Aontacht Cosmal a lovely vocal distortion pulls us right into this track with another hot bassline to follow. the vocals roll over and under the kick very nicely. Sirian is clearly very particular about his production. If you find yourself appreciating fine-tuned tracks then you'll definitely be appreciating this one. A little more psychedelic than the other tracks which is a nice break from the intricacies of the instrumentals we have heard so far. the final break once again makes me eat my words with a nice little trumpet or maybe saxophone? solo. It fits in nicely and brings us to the conclusion. A much ravier track than the others, something i would love to hear in a club. 7/8 7. Lets see what Golden Love has in store for us. Coming at us hard and fast we get rewarded with some hard hitting kicks and a funky fiddle (??) solo bouncing over the track. Oh damn i like the way this is progressing, a little something different after the mid break and then back into the banger that it started out as. Another beautiful example of trance working with native instruments to create a beautiful symphony 6/8 8. Somnabulist wasn't written to give us a break. going hard right from the start we have more vocals floating up under the kick. Finally a track that you can;t help but get lost in, always a good thing I say. Easily the most psychedelic track thus far, probably something to do with the lack of native instruments. A straight banger that would go down a treat at any open air fest. 7/8 and the best track on the album ( I guess in all relativity its a solid 8/8) 9. Stranger of the Forest Our Journey is almost over and i'm not sure whether to expect a downtempo or final hard hitting track to drive me home, in a sense this albums is what happens when calm meets crazy. Aaaaand it aint downtempo . This track has it all, it's got 6 different people on vocals, it's got harp, it's got guitar, it's got cymbal washes. The most fitting end to the album I can imagine. a change of pace comes at us around a third of the way in and then takes us back to instrumental magic. Ah and then some groovy basslines hit us right before we get a taste of that sax. Another banger for the album bringing our banger count up to 3 which isn't bad and most certainly not the sole intent of the album. 8/8 Havona is a nice little addition to the library, any one who loves those jazzy vibes will herald this album. My main complaint is the lack of psychedelia, while the album doesn't lack a strong kick in any songs it does at times miss the opportunity to get me out of my chair dancing in my living room by myself. Although that did happen at various points throughout I feel this would be absolutely killer with a live band. Anyone that has spent a night in Rainbow Serpent's Playground tent will feel me on that. The ratings got better as I went along so it didn't stop me from enjoying them when they came around. A must listen for anyone who wants something unexpected and original. 6/8 and plenty of tracks to help DJ's keep a crowds interest. Well done Sirian keep it coming https://sirianmusic.bandcamp.com/album/havona https://merkabamusic1.bandcamp.com/album/havona
