This is a track that I have been recently working on. The melodies/chords are simpler than my other work, but I tried to go for a hypnotic approach with lots of repetition in a "outer space" themed track. Note: I use FL Studio's step sequencer/channel rack only. Not playlist mode. I prefer the step sequencer because I can make the track feel more natural in a "live" way when I record. Criticism is wanted!

Artist: Various Title: Digital Extacy A Mindtravelling Trance Experience Label: Hypnotic Date: 1998 1. Radar - Interference 2. Latex Empire - The Trip 3. LV-426 - The Frame 4. Donut Junkie - Tr-Drill-09 5. Bloque - Tweak 6. Johhny Mnemonic - Viruz 7. Aerial Servant - Son of Mastermind 8. Brannon Beer - Skyride 9. Cellblock X - Climax 10 10. LV-426 - Press Machine Press 11. Pissle-Whistle-Party - Bonusbajer (Bonus Track) "This is the new reality." Then I want to go back to the old reality. I've been dipping my toe into the acid pool as of late and have come to realize several things. The similarities between acid and goa are numerous. Both genres love the little silver box (303) and feature it prominently in their work. And like goa acid has a lot of weak stuff interspersed with the really good tracks. Now the bar I measure a great acid track with is very high. Ain't nobody got time for less. And that bar is Acid Air Raid by Solar Quest. I know, really high. It's just that that track had it all. Power. Insanity. Groove. Atmosphere. Will this album approach that greatness? Not even f*cking close. It shows me that just because you put a bubbling 303 in there does not an excellent track make. The tracks here are shorter so they don't have the time to grow and expand. And the ideas that are here are very linear. If you listen to the first one or two minutes then you know what you're gonna get. Honorable mentions? Well, I suppose the first track was ok. And Climax 10 was super growly. Rotten tomatoes go to the f*cktards who just tried to hold a whistle for 30 seconds for the last track. Just leave it blank and maintain some dignity. Bottom line, the search for the perfect acid trance album continues over this speed bump.

Artist: Various Title: Psychedelic Club Trax - Future Sounds of Goa and Trance Label: Hypnotic Date: 1997 1. Asbraasia - Whirlpool--Kaos 2. X-Plore - Xemini (Mental Mix) 3. Donut Junkie - Blue 4. Recipe - Capture 5. Aerial Servant - Glockwork 2 6. Latex Empire - Acidchild (LP Edit) 7. Amtraxx - Morphia 8. Bloque - Legoland 9. Moonstalker - Stereoids 10. Mayflyer - Signal 1 11. Hval - Teint "Man this blows." "Bullsh*t. It's got an Indian deity on it. You know it's good." Sigh. You're both right. In my search for the perfect acid compilation I realize that like goa, you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince Tantrance. So far this one has had the most oomph for which I search. The opener grabs your attention right away and Donut Junkie's Blue is a monster. Just wish it wasn't so short. Glockwork 2 has some nice 303 snap and bite, but the sound is a little uneven. Acidchild is groovy, but after that...man some slim pickings. It's like the album f*cking fell off a cliff. I mean Signal 1 is a headache inducing speed freak. And what would an acid compilation be without something completely ridiculous shoved in at the end? So when I say this one is the best I've heard so far I think it means that it's less packed with annoying, go nowhere, linear, zero creativity crap. So that's a win. Right?

Artist: Various Title: Trancemission To Andromeda (The Sound of the Future and Now) Label: Hypnotic Date: 1996 1. Omniglobe - Mental Fragment (Mindout Mix) 2. Source T-10 - Nightmission 3. Lo Budget - I Wanna Be A Cloud 4. Propulsion iP - Control Your Body 5. Source T-10 - Emotion 6. Omniglobe - Happy Pill Anthem (Hysteria Mix) 7. Memorizer - Memory 8. L'Avenue - Sonic Revolution (Trance Mix) 9. Pure Tribal - Feel Alright 10. Utasia - Stratosphere 11. Warp 69 - Power of Yoga I was recently sent files of a bunch of older trance albums by someone and they thought that I might like to review them. First off I once again neglected to mention my fee. So...that brings my total review earnings to zero. Second, I'm not sure if that person actually likes me because this album was like handing a hamburger coated in blood to a vegetarian. See, bacon is delicious. Nope, nope...no take backs! You eat dead animals! This "trance" music is terrible. It's a mix of styles that sounds like the artists went nuts with the presets and patterns right out of the box. If you plan on reaching Andromeda you probably need to get off the ground first. Houston we have a problem and part of it is happy hardcore. Believe me when I tell you the eyerolls were out in full force. Normally I put the artist names in bold so they can stand out a bit. Uh-uh. Not gonna do it.

We created our own Faxiness Third track up from our new album!!!! Coming soon to Sun Station Records Sweeping and gushing Harmonic/hypnotic tune meeting you in Faxi Nadu territory somewhere between classic Blue Planet Corporation and X-Dream. What started as almost a technology demnostrator of the Sonic Core GmbH Scope Platform turned into a full track. Every single sound in the track is synthesized using Scope synths, modular/flexor, fx, and other machines, down to the smallest perc and tone.

Second track up from our latest album. this one is a Faxi Nadu collab with Brent Malik and Dash Van Glitch. You can really hear all of us on this one, and as usual with such meshes, a new sound emerges! Deep, melodic, raw, twisted and hypnotic, just the way we like it! The album is coming soon to Sun Station Records !!!! <3 On my end i used a lot of Sonic Core GmbH synths, mainly the amazingly simple and simply amazing ProTone doing the liquid rave melody/harmony thing. also some nord modular for the backing harmonies.

Our chronicles mention that about 500 years ago our people began to explore beyond the ocean star, reaching out in three directions towards the brightest lights in the sky. As one colony matured, another fleet journeyed on. It is our belief that our kind have traveled roughly two hundred years of light, spawning from the OceanStar. Our group, it is told, has traveled to the farthest reaches, towards the pinnacle of light, the top dot of the map. It has been many cycles since our kind have had contact with the other commons... Have they perished? Have we ventured so deep into space as to isolate ourselves or has a dark tragedy erased our proud past? Far beyond the farthest light is the domain of the galactic empire, hailing from the deep valley's of the ocean star, flowing down the river of time through the raise and fall of civilizations. Ocean Star Empire is a psychedelic goa trance act touching three dots on one map - Nomad Moon fromPortugal, Bachanalian Bass from the USA and Faxi Nadu from Israel. Communication was a path to a vision, vision ionized into action, and action was transposed into music. Traveling the sonic wormholes through the golden times to the space age, with a deep respectto the hypnotic goa giants of history and an eye blink towards the timeless future. Bacchanalian Bass Kyle Ramos from the U.S.A. joined Ocean Star Empire after the first album, The Purest Form. Bacchanalian Bass produces a strange form of trance that is not exactly Psytrance or Goa, but more influenced by Deep House sounds and gray Ambient moods inspired by his surroundings of pine trees and American history and love of archaic romanticism, gaslight-illuminated night ambiences, and all things surreal. Nomad Moon Nuno Muacho from Portugal, loving and producing psy since 2006. Into the fusion of the old and the new from goa to fullon and everything in between. Defender of the truth and of planet earth, Nomad Moon waits patiently for the day of first contact and is always ready with some goatrance for the coming visitors. Faxi Nadu Yaron Eshkar and Oss Vaisband, citizens of planet earth and living in Israel. Producing music since 2000. Faxi Nadu music features philosophical musings presented through varied psytrance and techno stories. Exploring human nature and the interaction of past and future - part space explorationand part forgotten elven bard songs.

Artist: Various Title: Close Encounters - Psychedelic Trance From Worlds Unknown Label: Hypnotic Date: 1997 "Tell me something my friend. Ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?" Oh Hypnotic. Only you could make a 2 CD compilation of two artists. Sure there are multiple artist names, but it's still just two guys. Martin Nielsen and Michael Kjeldgaard. Apologies Martin I've never heard of you. But Michael...ah, Psygone by any other name is still Psygone. This is a compilation with acid trance, techno, dream trance...basically Hypnotic took all the sh*t in their pantry and made a f*cking casserole. And let me tell you there's a lot of generic sh*t (most of it from Martin) to be found here as if they got their hands on a Roland MC-505 and recorded the preset sounds and patterns. Believe me when I say my finger was constantly hovering like a Japanese tiger mom over the skip button as a lot of this is really terrible. Even Michael recycles sounds on his tracks, but by Hans Christian Andersen he still shows why he's Psygone. That snap crackle pop of his 303 is the real deal on tracks like Tasmania and Stripped. But if you're looking for Optimystique then get your sad face on because you will be disappointed. Even the goa nature is tempered by house or dream trance. Flow? You better take that cohesive idea somewhere else. But for those of us on the hunt for the elusive white whale of storming goa that hasn't been fished out of the ocean of mediocrity this is a boot at the end of your fishing line. Mdk

Faxi Nadu - The Dangling Thread - Hypnotic Trance DAW Video
postunder posted a topic in DJ Promotion
FRESH straight from the oven - running track from daw to video, "The Dangling Thread". Ambitious attempt at harmonic-hypnotic trance by starting out from the very start with a 256 bar loop and then developing that. -
Beat Bizarre - "Riot" 1. Beat Bizarre – Antikythera Mechanism (Original Mix) 2. Beat Bizarre – Robofresh (Original Mix) 3. Beat Bizarre – Swop (Original Mix) 4. Beat Bizarre – Digisnort (Original Mix) 5. Beat Bizarre – Tungsten (Original Mix) 6. Beat Bizarre – Amplifucked (Original Mix) Review: Following up on their spectacular album "Mukharv" from 2012, Beat Bizarre releases a 6 track album in 2013. How does it stack up? Well, to start with, I'm a huge Beat Bizarre fan. In my opinion they have the market cornered on the dark, hypnotic, and highly groovy, sexy type sound. There's some other dark progressive artists out there, but they sure don't sound groovy or sexy - examples are Hypogeo and Barby - both of those artists make excellent dark progressive, but it isn't really slick, booty-shaking type music. Beat Bizarre has this wonderful combination, and this album is no exception. Not going to do a track by track review, but the first track reminds me a lot of the style on Mukharv, whereas the others do not. Every track is solid - in general this album is a bit more minimal than Mukharv, and often not as colorful. This is serious hypnotic head-trip music. The stand out track for me so far is "Tungsten" - awesome repeating vocal sample which reminds me of a track from Koxbox's album "The Great Unknown", along with a characteristic dark and heavy vibe, but punctuated by an absolutely soaring, angelic melody that loops throughout the track - there's so much emotion and atmosphere in this track. Overall this is a stellar effort - a bit short - only 6 tracks - maybe he could have waited till he had a couple more? Along with Frequenweschel and the Sensient album though this is the highlight of 2013 progressive trance for me. 91/100

Artist: Various Title: The Hypnotic Goa Zone Label: Hypnotic Date: January, 1999 1. Ziax - Calamity 2. Ex- Sample - Trip 2 Goa 3. Whonic - Insight 4. Futurax - Collision 5. DJ Roy - Time To Ride 6. D-Ex It - Lightning 7. Criozonic - Conviction 8. Steam - Lonliness 9. Mach - Crystal 10. Amenia - X-Cella-8 This is an underrated release in my opinion. It's not mixed so you get full tracks and I'm willing to bet that you've never heard of these people. I say people, but it's very few people as the same guy makes at least half of the tracks. And they're brand new goa trance tracks. Know how I know? It says it right on the front of the CD case. You know how sometimes when you look at a release on Discogs and it has a ridiculously high rating? Yeah, that might be this one. Not classics by any stretch as some of the melodies are pretty thin, but for the most part it's solid. One thing you can tell after giving this a listen, the same sounds are used over and over again. Because of that it has that generic goa sound, but one that I can enjoy on occasion. I will say that he knows his way around a 303. Mdk

Artist: Various Title: Future Sunrise Label: Hypnotic Date: 1997 1. Ultravision - Outpost 2. Vectrolab - Tribal Energy 3. Unicon - Fantasia (Edit) 4. Ultravision - The Tunnel (Exclusive CD Edit) 5. Silicon Voice - Future Sunrise 6. Vectrolab - Triathlon 7. Unicon - Labor of Love 8. Ultravision - African Dream (Exclusive CD Mix) 9. Ioncraft - Last Chance "Come baby, you're my labor of love." You see it's sh*t like that that makes me want to light you on fire. Damn you Hypnotic and your re-releaseds! I have a love hate relationship with this label. On the one hand if you wanted electronic music in the colonies this was the go to label. They had so much, damn we almost felt European. They were also the label that first exposed me to goa trance, so for that I am eternally grateful. Psygone? Colorbox? Bypass Unit? Solar Plexus? But they also had this habit of re-releasing albums under different names in what could only be labeled as a cash grab. After they cleaned up all the vomit they repackaged it and presented it 3 years later as Disc 2 of the Trance Goa Experience. You sons o' b*tches! Take the good with the bad I guess. But this is just...bad. There are a couple of good tracks that flex some goa muscles, but most of this claptrap is boring trance and hard trance. And don't get me started on whatever that weak ambient closing track was. Hopes were high with Outpost, it was aggressive and just kept coming. The Tunnel wasn't bad and Triathlon was a pretty good mover also. After that though...whew. 3.25 rating on Discogs? That is one pretty liberal f*cking curve. Mdk

Release note Beats & Pieces are proud to offer you a chance to take a special musical journey with Jule Grasz’s new album – Earth Feelings. Unfortunately it is not common to encounter women creating electronic music, and we are especially happy for the chance to introduce you to a very talented one. Earth Feelings is a special album- it is contemplative, deep and hypnotic. The tracks are very long (11-18 minutes) and yet they never tire as you find yourself deeply immersed in them. A very strong atmosphere is ever present and the music is full of emotion and feel. Inspired by travels through Norway and the encounters with its beautiful nature and its people, the album is very expressive and while creating a strong sense of melancholy and longing it also manages to stay optimistic and positive. Prepare to be hypnotized and experience some real Earth Feelings. Track list: 1. Corona 2. Morning Sun 3. The Deep 4. The Flow I 5.
