Artist: Various Title: Analog Charon Label: Plutonic Records Date: November, 2006 1. Sattwa - Too Much Time 2. Tryambaka - Violet Violence 3. Miditec - The Prophecy 4. Technodrome - Whale Talk 5. Psychoz - Imaginary Friends 6. Blisargorgon Demogorgon - Victory of Jafar 7. N3xu5 - Mutilation 8. Iron Madness - Death is Coming (Rmx) 9. Miditec - Crystal Vision (Norik & Redax Mental Rmx) "It's not unusual for a traumatized child to create imaginary friends." There is nothing in this compilation that will occupy a fraction of space in your memory banks. I liken it to a business major who strays from his ordered curriculum and decides to take quantitative analysis because there are a few hot chicks in that class. It is comprised of dark tracks that are either darkpsy or dark full-on, but regardless of which is which it's easily forgettable. No highs, no lows, just...a constant medium humming. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I would say it was full of mediocre tracks, but that would require me to remember what I just listened to. It's comps like this that shove the sword in the heart of dynamic music just a little further each time. Available at Beatspace for less than 2E, but doing something better with that money and give it to charity or a homeless person.

Artist: Alpha Circuit Title: Module-Z Label: Alpha Productions Date: November, 2006 1. Syntetich Morph 2. End of the beginning 3. Histericial Added 4. Lunar Circle 5. Generation 6. Module Z 7. Stratostar 8. Mysterious Fiend 9. Hypersonic Yep, that's me missing the boat on this one. As I'm attempting to free up space on the external drives, I am in the process of going through music that I know longer listen to. So I come across this and wonder why it flew under my radar. Oh, I know, it sounds like sh*t. But I'm getting ahead of myself. This is Luca Galli from Italy who apparently began his career in the early 90's with Etnica only to leave that group to follow his own pursuits. Holy sh*t that chick just blasted a dook in the hot tub! Ok, so I'm sure Luca didn't have it that bad. Poor chick...just think of the nicknames. She should just move. To another country. Still, leaving Etnica before they blew up would be like telling a bunch of mop headed Englishmen that the Beatles is a stupid name and you're gonna give this disco thing a try. So he leaves Etnica in the early 90's for whatever reason and releases his debut. In 2006. Here is what part of the Psyshop promo says: All tracks are released following the partiture and notation made with a keybord, are different works to montage sourcing the sample or loop to be not constructed. What the f*ck does that mean? Besides misspelling keyboard whoever wrote this just pissed all over English grammar. I'm guessing it was written way back when and he decided to cobble together what he could and put out an album. And it isn't bad. Some of the tracks like Stratostar, Generation, and Histerical Added have impressive melodies that seem to float across the clouds like a bubble that won't break. Very old-school. At other times it sounds quite minimal and raw, and even with that one can draw parallels with the Etnica style. There are portions where the track rolls along quite innocuously and then BAM! You have a searing and very moving melody. So on the surface of things I'm thinking this is quite the gem. But the problem is it sounds like sh*t. I'm not one to complain about mastering, but I know when something ain't right in sound town. Maybe the source was poor or degraded and just didn't transition well. I don't know. But it's unlistenable at high volume. Just breaks up. This would be a project for DAT Records, they seem to be good at rescuing old stuff and giving it a fresh shine. So while some of the tracks are very impressive, the quality of the audio is poor, and I can't recommend this. Especially not the almost 14 bucks Psyshop wants for it. Psyshop Mdk

Artist: Various Title: Psychic Imprint Label: Ketuh Records Date: November, 2006 1. Gappeq - Rite Machine 2. Lagun - Soul Cube 3. Boogieman - Space Dementia 4. Spiral - Leptospiralosis 5. Whicked Hayo - Hayo 6. Silent Horror - Victim (Final) 7. Khopat - Droid Sequence 8. A.P.E. - Power of the Quantom 9. Trold - Karma The last CD from an underrated label. Releases included Sonic Pantomime, Alittle Lunacy, and Interfiber Skunk from Killer Buds. Ah what could've been. Their specialty was dark psytrance without any of the cliche's of darkpsy. Thumping beats, melodies...think of a tanner TImecode. With their final opus they keep it dark. Very dark. Unfortunately for a guy like me who likes melodies and depth this wasn't their finest work. Lots of metallic sounds and thumping basses, but not a lot else. Five tracks in and I'm still looking for anything to grab hold of. Power of the Quantom and Karma have some redeeming qualities and felt like proper night time psytrance. Perhaps they finally succumbed to what plagued most darkpsy around 2006? Whatever the reason they really went out with a whimper. I cannot recommend this CD unless you're in the business of throwing money down the toilet. And if that's the case I have three toilets and they are all very hungry. Here...you can place your money right here. Why am I wearing a bugs bunny costume? Duh, it's Thursday. Psyshop Beatspace

Artist: Various Title: Psionic Temple Label: Digital Psionics Date: November, 2006 1. Abomination - Lost 2. Concept - Syndrum 3. Shift - Project Neutrino 4. Dark Nebula - Soul Bruiser 5. Psywalker - Dream Weaver 6. Geko - Kill As Many As We Can Find 7. Bon - Regulated Power 8. Electrypnose - Misunderstood Rage 9. Psyboriginal - Sexadelic 10. Fractal Glider - Only A Lifetime "Should I get on all fours?" Yes. It will make it that much easier to thrust my boot up your ass. Seriously are you kidding me? What are you 12? Maybe putting those juvenile samples in your music and then blasting them through loud speakers at a party magically separates women from their panties in Europe. In which case can you teach me to be a DJ and I'll be right over. But let me tell you over on this side of the pond it makes me cringe. Psyboriginal's masturbatory opus aside this compilation in the Psionic series isn't half bad. Unfortunately if you get 50% on a test you still have to go to summer school like a dumbass while DJ's blast the panties off chicks at the pool. Digital Psionics is a night time trance label that was very prolific, just take a look at how many installments are in this series alone. The compilation begins with a tsunami rendered earthquake of goodness coming from Abomination, Concept, and Shift. Power incarnate with dark melodies. Soul Bruiser wasn't bad, but put me in the camp of those who feel Dark Nebula's tracks aren't that memorable. Psywalker was good even if I think he tends to ramble. Like that guy at work who can't get to the f*cking point. After that it's a sh*tshow. Geko and Fractal Glider bore the pants off me and the rest lack any sort of punch whatsoever. In like a thunderstorm out like a mouse fart. I'm with you Jerry. Who the f*ck is in charge over there? Thank God I only paid 3 bucks for this. Psyshop Beatspace
