I've been listening to my father's old vinyl records that he left me after his passing and I've been getting into a progressive rock band that goes by the name of its 3 band members Keith Emerson, Greg Lake, and Carl Palmer (Emerson Lake & Palmer) also known as ELP... The Keyboardist (Keith Emerson) is unbelievable on the synthesizers. His use of the modular moog is second to none and is every bit as psychedelic as modern psytrance. Check out the song called "Tarkus".. the intro to that piece is ominous, foreboding, and beautiful... Its definitely not for everyone and it might not be of interest to anyone on this site but its definitely worth checking out.

Highly recommended for those of you who enjoy listening to goa and psy on vinyl records and want the absolute best in fidelity. I use a DBX 3BX series ii which is a 3 band expander that processes dynamic range expansion independently across three seperate frequency bands. Dynamic range expansion attenuates the volume of quiet sounds below a given threshold and makes them sound quieter while boosting loud passages to sound louder. The expansion of the difference in volume of the signal is key to making it sound like live music and not a compressed mp3 played on a clock radio. I have to mention the reduced surface noise and wider stereo image being some of the benefits of adding one in your system. Combined with a graphic equalizer and subharmonic synthesizer which processes the lowest frequency and the notes played in the incoming signal and synthesises the the same notes but in a frequency 50% lower and re introduces them back into the signal. This gives a low end that you feel more than hear.. DBX gear is highly recommended

Warper-mutator 5. Weird Species Sentimony records really summed this release up better than I ever could. "The release name came from nowhere and the dick knows what it is, but it will all fuck us out Get it now and have fun! " It fucked me out the first time I heard it. It's nice to see Goa artists step outside of the comfort zone of traditional 4 on the floor structures and just let loose with their tools. only 3 songs here are really Goa, the other 2 are more Break Beat, sloa styled fuck knows what (Like the track titles).... But they're interesting to say the least. Oh and quite good. 1. Multiplexer - Our journey begins a pretty radical baseline, simple but radical. The track plods along nicely reaching what we could call some sort of climax around the last act of the song. This EP is clearly gonna get points for standing out from what has been released recently. 2. Alien Controlled Human Exterminator - A bouncier track with analog leads pumping out at us as it goes along. The intensity builds quite nicely as random squelches and sounds keep things interesting. Ufo doesn't over use anything and keeps it fresh. 3. Fornax Cluster - The most melodic of the tracks so far. Funky baselines, pure analog shooting us into the unexplored dimensions of dirty space. What? you thought space was all magical and pretty. Well Ufomatka proves us wrong here. Acid drenched planets wizz by as our spaceship wipes grime from its windows. Beautiful in its own way. 4. Warper-mutator - Our hyperspace intergalactic travels have flown right down. Stuck now in the grease dripping, uninhabited bogs of another world, Ufomatka continues our journey. Very trippy track, the pa rum pa rum rum of the percussion really stands out for me. Analog AF. 5. Weird Species - The strangest of the tracks, about as alien as it can get. I feel myself floating through the final canals of our journey. As soon as it appears as though I might make it through to the other side I end up where I started. Looking at this weird species that managed to find itself here, altering synaptic controllers. Thats it folks. A truly wild and weird ride through Ufomatka's soundscapes. His creativity really stands out here and those of you that love pure rough analog, boy oh boy get a taste of this. While rough around the edges (I believe it was meant to be) you've got something here that really does stand out from what I've heard not only Ufomatka release but other artists in this genre. Hey guys, I've decided to sell my virus ti snow cause it's too digital and wimpy sounding. I want to replace it with one or more of the newer analog synths. Was wondering if you guys have any recommendation for stuff with a really good filter that would be good for the hardware goa sound (for example stuff like Celestial Intelligence)? I am thinking about maybe the MS20 mini or one of the new roland things like the forthcoming SE02. I also saw video of a guy making amazing goa on one of the Dreadbox units. I used to have a prophet 08, but all the dave smith stuff I have owned has had issues and broken so I refuse to buy his stuff anymore. Currently I'm mainly using the nord lead 2, minibrute (it's so meh though), virus rack, virus snow...then for VSTs: LuSH-101, Superwave Ultimate (kind of a JP8000 clone), Superwave Sirius (kind of a MS2000 clone), and Sylenth. So as you can see I really like the 90s VAs but I feel like goa needs a good analog filter. Any recommendations? No old/really expensive/bulky stuff plz
