Guest jyxx
...or whatever to call this i'm talking about the music that filled all the dancefloors all over the world, like traktor shalllabor stuff, boshke beats, paste, spirallianz, midi miliz... and 1692 names more you know what i'm talking about... you should remember those times when our faces were smiling recognizing old transwave, prana or simon's music on the dancefloors... magic melodies and stomping samples.... how is it now for you? does the music NOW sound for you like some working factory, producing only vibes and movement? and is it really hard for you (as for me) to id the tracks nowadays? i hope you understood me, girls and boys... p.l.u.r. flies to You
Lemmiwinks
hey hey we haven't had a good ol' minimal Vs. oldschool debate in a long time now!!! Well, to answer your question, jyxx, I agree with you totally. I mean, I have moments where I dig the new stuff out there and think it's good, but then I'd put on some old AP/ Prana/ Transwave/ Asia 2001/ etc... and think that the new releases are SHIT compared to that. But I guess that the main argument is that goa from 96 was soo evolved and perfect, it was impossible to progress any further in that direction so people had to come up with something new... something less perfect... ah well, you always have your old CDs to listen to... I mean, some people are still stuck in the 60s/ 70s and only listen to music from that period, so what's wrong with being stuck in 96? ;-D SMI²LE
Guest WSTE_M
tell you what I was at a party last week, I felt that someone had put a record in repeat though the duration of the night. All tracks started with 30seconds of har routh bass, and thereafter nothing, a bit of ground laying bass but nothing built on top, no mindblowing psychedelic tunes, no legbreaking full on rhythms and no deafning hard bass. just nothing emptyness. yeah I heard Shiva Chanda live... Guest Robomarket
my opinion- minimal sucks! Parties of the new millenium : Minimal trance is growing up and expanding, but I don't appreciate this kind of music as well. I think it's less interesting than before, the psychedelic aspect of music has completely disappeared. This minimal music is only made with a deep bigkick line, mixed with a banal and too much repetitive rhytmic, which doesn't invite us to imagination and dreams anymore. Yes, mimimal music kills Trance, Goa trance is nearly inexistent in this new movement today. This movement which sounds like and seems to be "Commercial". cource: http://brainwasher.free.fr/debut_en.htm
Guest jyxx
guys... cool down... leave this topic about how horrible modern trance is(actually full of techno rhythms)... it's not horrible, the market is just full of shitty and useless music... but anyways i still think that there are several wizards, that can do it good enough (ex. mr. killian from switz aka xv kilist, i also adore some german masters like mos or x-dream etc). it's just another energy, but it's not bad at all. the thing is: imo i just can NOT stay all the party listening to the _same_ stuff... trance is NOT limited to just rhythm, ok? now let's stop this topic about how nice was old goa and how equal the music is now i would like to convert it to another direction: do you have some preferences in minimal stuff and do you agree with me that 80% of music is for one-time listening?
