Guest lurk
got an email from D-Dave today about Schlab's latest offering, thought some of you might be interested... "On Schlab 004 the following artists are featured: Signal, Battle of the future Buddhas, Ka-SoL, and Skomm. These are all bands from Uppsala, Sweden, as usual with Schlabbaduerst ReKkords releases. Oh, Stefan Hansen in Signal is from Orebro, swedens trance-capital. J This compilation is our "dawn-music" CD. It has the perfect music for the transition from darkness to light, therefore its neutral in the beginning and then soft and melodic in the end. Now, some sounds might be hard, but overall there are no heavy drums and no dark sounds, if you think that you are nuts! But then you got to be nuts to buy Schlabbaduerst ReKkords… I wont even mention how nuts you need to be to run a label like Schlabbaduerst… The music is hypnotic, trancey, groovy, melodic and just goes on and on. 3 tracks are longer than 10 minutes and when hypnotic trance music is at its best you dont want it to stop, so thats just fine! The music goes from the fantastic hypnotic trancey tracks from Signal, to some more intense but almost minimal stuff from Battle of the future Buddhas. Well, the BotfB-minimal, just a few sounds, a simple beat, but the addition of effects makes it rather maximal in the end anyway…of course! J The CD then continues with some fast flying tracks from Ka-SoL, the 147 stormer "Volap" and the amazing 148 bpm track "Hjärntvätt" (Brainwash). After that we are landing with some more slower Ka-SoL and a nice groovy 80s kind of track with solo-synths (!) from Uppsalas softest band Skomm, which is a new addition to Schlabbaduerst. Only 8 tracks fitted this time and the last track is a come-down/end the party kind of track by Ka-SoL called "Vilse i rymden" (Lost in space) which has some really funny samples in swedish from a TV-show for kids about satellites swirling around in the vast space that never finishes but just goes on and on forever… J Schlab 004 is a part of a series that started with the early night music of Schlab 001, which was followed by the morning music proper of Schlab 002 and the night peaktime "horror" sounds of Schlab 003. Now we turn back to the time between night and morning with Schlab 004. You could play the Schlab series in the order 001, 003, 004, 002 for an almost complete party! J We also have plans for a Schlab 005 compilation which will be simple "forest" music, music that can be played either night or morning, but fits well in the swedish forest and is usually played in the late morning/day when things have smoothed out after an intense night and a happy morning. Then we might make Schlab 006 which would be ambient music. And I am going to release a solo-CD, D-Dave "Pleading Insanity". Some very personal and weird tracks I made over the years. Psychedelic, but not always psy-trance. We are going to make Schlabbaduerst T-shirts as well. If there is any interest they will be possible to order soon as well. These compilations try to present the whole journey of a trance party, from early night to late morning/day, the journey from darkness to light. This journey has been abandoned by many big labels and if you´re still searching for the true psychedelic vibe you should check out Schlabbaduerst ReKkords releases! So, if this sounds interesting for you please check http://listen.to/Schlab where it is now possible to order Schlab 004!"
