Video cameras in partys

I would like to know (with a standard home video camera) if the sounds and picture quality is g00d in a party. I presume that sound will suck hard, because the built-in microphones seems to be cheap.

With a plugged micro, is the quality better than the built-in one ?

Also, i would like to know in general if the picture is dark or okay because of the light effects and blacklights...etc

Give me your opinion please!

there is a lot of diffrence with "standard home video camera's" ...

with video-8 or hi-8's you get to see the pixel rating because it's too dark at Goa parties but you don't have these problem's with digital-8 or DV camera's.

When you tape at parties with little light the images get alot darker but still okay.

for that mic ... the sound isn't really good (not good at all actually, depend's on where you are in the room) but you can plug in a headphone to listen how it sound's ... but i guess you knew ... so yes Quality is better with a plugged-in mic but listen trough headphones first to now a good position

if you just want to tape the event to see it again as a memorie, everything fit's!

Guest green mouse

some cameras have "night vision"...which is perfect for recording in the dark, comes out black-and-white...check if your camera has this function.

It's my brothers camera, but it have the night vision functionnality. I think it's black and white mode, but i'll try to make some tests before using it, for sound especially!

Thanks
