Party in Goa, yes please, sir!

So, now there's a national law in India prohibiting loud music in open spaces between 10 pm and 7 am. Does this mean no parties at all? Or just smaller parties, away from the beach or something?

And is Gokarna a good place for techno? My travel guide tells me hippies and backpackers are making there way over there hoping for a Goa kind of atmosphere...

But actually I'll be just fine with dancing in a shady place between 7 am and 10 pm.

I wouldnt worry .... this just in

I hear Logic Bomb was in Goa a couple of weeks back (this I`m not sure about) .... and two big bombay DJs were playing at Disco Valley last week (This I know for sure) .... Goa`s goign strong already this year, and can only get better.

Parties in Karjat are going strong and well ... there has been almost one every week ... Manali had its last full moon, and so did Kasol ...

There was recently a big party (Mahayagya 3) in delhi ... everything is going well ...

I`m Indian, so let me explain to u something about Indian law ...

There is a big difference between having a law in india .. and implementing it ..

That a law exists does not mean that it is actually going to be implemented, not even that half of the law enforcers of the land will know abt it..

for example - weed has been illegal in india since before I was born .. a few months back, I visited a temple in delhi under the tutelage of a baba who sells excellent weed, and there I saw a cop smoking a bowl :) .... and bought the stuff right in front of him

FINAL VERDICT - the parties in goa will definitely carry on .. and this year is gonna be a lot better than the last two

BoM!

I've just got back from Goa and I can say for certain the party scene out there at the moment is strong and going almost EVERY night on the beaches and in the jungles - FULL POWER as the locals say..:-)

The best parties are of course the ones not too many people know about .. my advice is to befriend a local hash/xtc/charlie taker (as i did) .. they will know where the good ones are!

...if logic bomb were in Goa a couple of weeks back then I'm sure i would have heard..

BooooooooooMs

Namaste friends,

Sounds Good! I'm gonna go over there at the end of January with my wife. Unfortenately we can only stay couple of weeks because of our work-duties. Last time we were there two months in 99. There are people who say that Goa is too commercial and out of date. I think that's bullshit, for me the place has a unique importance and charm. There's something very special about Goa! The vibe, the atmosphere etc. It's one of those rare places in the world that I feel free and relaxed. So I'm anxious to meet my old friends and see the scene in Anjuna and Vagator.

Ninja power, Cosmo :-)

PS. Don't mess with the drugs there. You can live totally healthy life there and still be far-out high all the time!

He is, of course.

His IP starts with 203. Mine started with 202 when I was in Jaipur yesterday.

Tonight I am in Pushkar, just saw the sunset over the lake here, with the beautiful colour of the sky reflected in the white of the temples at the shore of the lake. Camel fair is going on, so lots of people around. Tonight a small full moon party... :-)

Rajasthan can bewitch you, if you're willing to let it. With its palaces and the Rajasthani's with their pointy mustaches and coulorfuI turbons... I feel like I am in Ghita Mehta's "Raj". Read that book!

Anyways, I don't need drugs to be enchanged.

And, Chetan, in Holland we have a well organized structure in which marihuana is prohibted by law, but allowed to be sold. But that's only with marihuana...

Guest :-D a a n

i guess there are quite a few festivals happening in rajasthan, i would have to look it up in my travel guide. i think pushkar is nicer without the fair, it was rather crowded when i was there...

now i am in jaisalmer, and it is absolutely beautiful. without any special event happening, nice and relaxed.

i'm using the loneley planet travel guide book to india, i think there's also one for rajasthan alone.

loneley planet sells a lot of travel guides, they should be easily obtainable.

i just came back from a camel safari, and i had great fun! i can recommand it to anyone.

enjoy!
