Guest snusnu
Yes, I found something in psy that actually botheres me more than minimal... It's crappy psy remixes of 70s or 80s soundtracks!!!! Beverly Hills Cop, Star Wars, Mission Impossible, and I think I even heard a remix of the A-team track!!! What's next? A remix of the Dallas theme??? I hope this fashion won't last long... SMI²LE

Guest stav
There is nothing wrong with minimal. its actually not so minimal if you are listening to the right music. You just havent discovered its essense yet....obviously. Just as you started with Michael Jackson in the 80's and moved to techno and then psy trance in the mid-late 90's. The logical progression will come to you... tis only a matter of time. Peace out to all the progressive labels and artists particulary Iboga, Digital Stuctrures, Medium, ZMA, Cream Crop, Flow, Plastic Park, Database, etc etc

Guest El Hongo Loco
Hehe a remix of the A-theme team? Hehehe, sounds so lousy that I just gotta hear it. Anyone know what artist and trackname it is?
Guest Setsuko
i like those tracks .... it doesn't always have to be dark and scary and underground.... those tracks are made for fun .... and if the artist have done the remix very well it's nice to listen to it ... Snusnu , the 'mission impossible' tune you probably heared at 'the hallucinatorium' was imo extremely good , sometimes it's great when you're dancing and then the unexpected happens. People recognise it and wtart to smile (but i didn't know what movie it was till i asked somebody , but it sounded familiar) ... the GMS - Starwars tracks is imo extremly great , an insane groove and very powerfull ... and you should chech the Aerodance track 'pop freak' , there's an tune in it from the track 'l'été indien' by joe d'assin and i like that ... but hé ☻ it's my taste , but those things have to be done with care so the melodies sound grown-up and with a psychedelic touch. Guest spacemonkey - 604
never trust a person that takes himself too serious.........so don't take your music too serious. i must admit i never heared any of those songs above, but if they are made with some strange sick kind of humor (and are still good, which doubles the twistedness because those people put time and effort in that nonsense.) i think it's good. keeps evereythinf thing on the bright site not too serious (not too religious?) Guest psywarrior
I agree with Setsuko and Spacemonkey. Using those kinds of samples and melodies from old tv shows or movies can be really cool and get this..psychedelic! Why must everything be reduced to rules and formulas for some people. For me there are no rules. I have seen practically every concept or approach work and to me if it works and sounds good then I like it. Some people act like the very existence of something that they don't like threatens them. But I think that is stupid. Its not like its going to take over and all music from now on will be this thing you hate, be it minimal, progressive, melodic, using matrix samples, old 80s theme songs, dark, etc.......None of it is going to take over. People just don't agree enough for that to happen and some people want to be open and listen to it all. So just chill. There is enough room for it all. Guest bugbread
Laughing when dancing is one of the best things there is. If the execution of the track is crappy, so you stop dancing, then it's a bad track, but if you find yourself flailing and boucing and spinning while all the while splitting your sides laughing, then that's pure joy. Some of Ubar Tmar's lighter live shows do that for me, and it's an awesome feeling. By the way, Reece, are you Aussie or Brit? I assumed with Demon Tea and the .au suffix that you were aussie, but I didn't know you guys used the expression "take the piss".
Guest Andreas of Amygdala
Heheee, a psy-version of the Dallas theme has already been done - and it rocks, as far as I remember (it's a couple of years old...)
