Your First Trance

My first goa trance cd I bought, while being aware it was goa trance was Bypass Unit - Green Dreams (98)

I had some goa trance from 96-97 already on various compilations (like trancemaster) without realising it was goa trance :P I just liked that "weird" tracks of the Green Nuns and Transwave very much :)

Union Jack - Two Full Moons And A Trout ( 1994 ) I found Platipus Vol. 1 compilation and instantly bought it considering its cover and pretty sensible tracklisting and I gave it a listen and for my 14 yrs of that time when I was already crazy with Prodigy and some acid trance, this sounded like a master piece of sound refreshment for the ears. After that it slowly evolved into next disc I've found Distance To Goa 1 ( 1994 ) and Total Eclipse - Waiting For A New Life and Razor's Edge - Exquisite Sin ( Exquisite Dream Mix ) were the highlights from that disc. OMG ! That was a blast ! I haven't heard more sophisticated trance music at that time. I was feeling blessed cause of entirely different approach to the trance state than at the beginning of nineties with acid ruling. This was more delicate, precise and more musical. After that I've found Cygnus X - Hypermetrical ( 1995 ) and was completely blown away with the melodic structures. Blue Planet Corporation - The Antidote, Total Eclipse - Transparent Mind, Electric Universe - Electronic Pulsation, Indoor - The Key are next singles I've heard before I was completely hooked on it back in 1995. Amazing experience !

That is the same Neuwerk ? Huh, what a drastic change through the years... good trip... moving from one completely insane genre onto a chilled one... :D

well some of the Neuwerk tracks on the Terrordrome compilations were already pretty chilled... some sort of 'hardtrance' with a couple of goa/psy influences...

Here you go;

Neuwerk - Sugandhalaya

Taken from: Terrordrome VIII

And what about "UBX" ?...

UBX - Sub Mind

Another 'trancy' side of the Terrordrome series... but a bit less goa, and alot faster

Enjoy!

I can't really remember. The first electronical CD was either U96 - Das Boot or Marusha - Raveland. Goa might have been Infected Mushroom - Classical Mushroom or one of the Lovefield compilations.

1996 was THE turning point in my musical taste.

Before that I was mainly into alternative rock-music but then I discovered there was more to electronic music than the commercial club scene.

aha, idem dito, one of my first electronic cds was U96 - Das Boot... Hilarious, but it still has alot of power :)

But before I bough (or my parents at least) bought alot of New beat and gave it to me, most have been around 1990, it was a real hype back then in Belgium

I still enjoy U96, as you say it's a very powerfull and energetic CD. And Raveland is an absolute masterpiece imho... Rave still rocks! :)
