Guest bugbread
Just thought I'd share this neat episode from the other night. My girlfriend likes goa, but she doesn't purchase anything herself, she either borrows CDs from me or hears stuff at shows (her room has really thin walls so she only listens to music on her walkman on the train). Anyway, we went to a club in Bangkok to see what it was like, and the DJ was spinning some low-key full-on (not minimal, but not complex). I was a really small place so I asked the DJ to spin some infected. A few songs later a fair full-on song came on, so I danced a bit (until then I'd been checking out the deco, drinking, etc.). When the song finished, she (who'd been dancing the whole time) asked me, "Was that infected?" I told her "no", and we continued kinda shuffling to the music. About twenty minutes later, this AMAZING track came on (guess who by). It was from the Gathering, which she hasn't borrowed yet. The music was twisting and bouncing, and so were we. She had the biggest smile on her face, people were shouting, the atmosphere became about 200% more energetic. By the end of the song we were dripping with sweat, huge dumb grins on our faces, and I turned to her and said "THAT was infected mushroom". I think her response was "WOW". Guest vasyachkin
RRIGHT .... i think infected music WAS interesting (before BP empire) but not necessarily very enrgetic or suitable for anything other than curious listening in headphones. Guest Progressive
The kind of music IM represents is boring and represents the past. Now we want monotone and progressive stuff to keep on dancing!
Guest bugbread
Yeah, IM is representin'! Straight up! Word also goes out to Stravinsky, Pink Floyd, and Walter Spies, originator of the modern kecak. The past is kickin' it now!
Guest kzi
damn straight... it has energy vasyachkin, you like movies with dogs doing women but not infected mushroom... haha
Guest al3xandar
Infected style is somehow ambient like. It is psy but I always listen to it when I am going a sleep. For energy kind music, i like Zerotonine, Dark Soho, GMS etc... Infected somehow...Classical Mushroom was better than BP Empire...
Guest bugbread
The irony is that I find GMS to be decent music to sleep to, but Infected has too much energy to it (with some exceptions, of course, like "Release Me").
Guest wow
i dunno how anyone could NOT dance to "return of the shadows"
Strumpling
and now the bad news: they'll never make music like that again..... all their new stuff is way different. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- but we've still got their old stuff laying around everywhere! so... ! Guest bugbread
I dunno, I've heard the samples from the new album, and it seems more like Classical than BPEmpire. Then again, those are only samples, not full songs.
Strumpling
many PARTS of BPEmpire sounded like classical mushroom........ it was just all the (my opinion ahead) CRAP in between these parts that was lame. The end of the album is just as cool as anything on Classical Mushroom though -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- Hopefully they realized BPEmpire wasn't liked as much as classical and the gathering, and have headed back to that era
Guest FrY Brain
I don't care. Infected rules. One of the best.(if not the best) This "infected is past" is pure crap. Music is eternal. I still listen to beethoveen, and other classical musicians. Open your mind, dont let this kind of thought get to your head!!! peace! Guest didge
The Gathering - one of my all time favourites... killed it when it came out (especially playing ROTShadows 15million times), put it on the other day, its still fucken great Classical - also loved the album, how can you go past tracks like bustamove and shen, but for me, not as many good tracks as TG... BPEmpire - love the production... especially on a really big system... but i do find it a bit cheesy, but that was for classical as well. Bring on the next album i say, whether it cheese or not, there's always gonna be at least 2 killers on there =)
Guest lÿsërgïç
people always seem to say 'return of the shadows' is one of the best tunes ever etc.. i actually found it got way to cheesy and irritating for me @ 4:00. the start is good tho.. as usual with IM and NO.. im not bagging IM.. so please dont codemn me now. Guest al3xandar
The energiest tracks by Infected i like most are: Bust A Move and Never Ever Land. Psycho is also perfect...

Guest psywarrior
Thanks for the cool little story Bugbread. I liked it, it brought a smile to my face. I too have had many great experiences listening/dancing to Infected Mushroom. I don't understand when people say stupid things like "infected is boring and represents the past". For one thing good music is good because it is good, not because it is 2002. What I mean is that good music will always be good. Anyway I personally like all of Infected Mushrooms' music. Depending on my mood I might like The Gathering more one day, another time it will be Classical Mushroom, and other times it will be B.P. Empire. I also really like their newer stuff that I have heard. I like the variety and the quality of their music and for that I will be eternally gratefull. Not like many people here who put down an artist if they don't make the music they like. At the very least you should show them some respect and gratitud for the stuff you did like. I personally am really looking forward to their next album. Keep an open mind and I am sure you will enjoy it. Peace.
