Guest llazi
Thinking abour unreleased / live recordings ..... It would be interesting buildin up a site with all this stuff in mp3 format and of corse to be totally legal and fair with the artists well should take permision from them. What u think ? Guest dam10n
not *such* a lame idea... as long as the permission is there. but then if something is all on a site, there are gonna be bandwidth problems - hence the success of napster and all the other P2P operations... so it would have to be some sort of commercial operation, though I'd jump at neing able to get live sets like that... Guest Elysium Project
I think it's a great idea :-) Just one good advice "and remember it's got nothing to do with me wanting more money ect". - I am only preventing you for getting into trouble! In most cases the permission is not up to the artists ! 1. You need to get the permission from the record labels (they have the copyright control over the music - also the music in the live performances) 2. Many artists are also connected to music rights organisations (Koda/Denmark, Gema/Belgium) ect.) and most of these organisations follow international laws where you need to get the permission from each bands local/national organisation before you can publish a website with the artists material... Also remember that many of these organisations will charge you for it even if you do not make any money out of it! 3. If you decide to do it without any permissions from the organisations there is a chance (even if it might be little) that they will find your site.... that will not be fun for you! Hope you can use my advices.
