Guest [tom jaimz]
Here we go, kids. It's plug season again. I have two Wizzy Noise tracks in my latest mix, so you can hear them in the context of other tracks, which will give you a better idea. But personally, no, I don't think it's mastered badly at all. It does sound a bit more layered [not just melodic layers, sorry Astral fans] than a lot of other tracks of a similar style.. I think maybe it's the Delta-syndrome - ie, the tracks are mastered a little differently to what some people may be used to. But, of course, I'm not a sound engineer. I'm just a guy who listens to too much psychedelic trance on very good headphones.
Guest mE 1
what kind of headphones? studio? Who manufactured?
Guest [tom jaimz]
Pioneer SE-DJ5000s. 5 - 28000 Hz, 55 ohms, 105db/mw. I prefer them to the Sonys and the Sennies, but really, when it comes down to it, all three are wicked.
Guest Chong
or (as i've said b4) I think u should test the Grado 325s I dont think any of the ones mentioned above can compare to them...these are in a different league. EXCELLENT BASS!!! liquid mids and VERY detailed highs!!! The sound is UP FRONT!!! IN YOUR FACE!!!, and it's nice because you can listen to every detail without turning the volume all the way UP!!! What I can tell you is that if you listen to trance, rock, jazz, fusion or any form of electronic music, these headphones are way better IMHO than the HD580 or any of the above!!!! Give them a test - - - -
Guest Mesiaz
check head-fi.org for everything regarding headphones, that sire rules i have a pair of Beyer Dynamic DT250 80 Ohms myself. Very balanced and an excellent headphone.
Guest Chong
I have been listening to the new Wizzy and I like it. Nice controlled beats and mayhem - progressions move nicely and some great psy touches. I only have an mp3 copy - so i cannot yet make a judgement on mastering (but it sounds good so far). I'm impressed with it so I'm about to make an order with Saikosounds (I am ordering way too many CDs every couple of weeks), but i normally order them thru psyshop - why dont psyshop stock the Wizzy album? ALSO: Out of interest sake - is it a jewel case or digipack?
Guest Ubik
Digipack. Nice artwork. I agree with tom, it's a very dense album, a little delta-like especially the first songs. I think I like it better than the first. More varied. And Velocity engine is a killer. I'm no sound engineer but I think the mastering is pretty good, it does not sound flat at all, however maybe some tracks have too much treble. Guest Slidingtrancer
I haven't seen any shop in Holland which sells or knows Grado's... thats why I bought Sennies...
