Guest Spectral Collapse
Man... i just read in the news that a 13 year old girl was at a Hockey game in Ohio... a player hit a slapshot, the puck went into the audience and hit her in the head, and she died two days later. What the @!#$ is that man. I live in South Carolina and there are baptists all over the place preaching god all the time... Hows that for god? ...@!#$ is screwed up.. khogg
That was tragic. Apparently, it was an early birthday present from her father. He took her to the game, and then wango! She would have turned 14 today. What a freaky accident. About the God thing, I can only agree. Where is the purpose or justice in that incident, or any other one like it. Mind you, religious people will always have an answer. The true die-hards will go to great lengths to rationalize everything and anything that might contradict their frimly blindly held beliefs (not unlike the rest of us I suppose). I once had a long conversation with a guy handing out Bibles. I raised every single point or arguement I could and he never got mad, but he wasn't the least bit swayed. He had some answer for everything, some passage in the bible usually. He believed and nothing seemingly could change that. Do you know what's funny? Religious people cry at funerals. Why? Tatsu
the picture of god that a lot of people have is @!#$ anyway. when they were saved from an accident or something similar they praise god because he saved them. but i mean why should he?! there are a lot of people starving from hunger in the third world and he doesn't do anything against it. so why should he care for one single special person anyway...? so, i don't believe in nothing at all.but that's just my personal view. Guest liarliar
Only a norwegian would manage to kill a person with a hockey puck;>
Guest Afghanfan
You ppl are cruel ...antichrist?? Yaaaa that's heavy It is an accident. These things happen. Moral of the story, don't expect God to save you - you got to do that yourself. Peace in
khogg
I heard on the news that it wasn't the puck that caused the death directly. The blow caused her head to snap back (whiplash) and did something to an artery in the neck which clotted and cut off blood to the brain... A rare, unfortunate incident by all accounts. Otto Matta
I had a realization this last weekend that the evils of this world are nothing compared to the evils of the universe as a whole. Same thing with goodness - that even the highest good on our world cannot compare to the greater good of the universe as a whole. Could be that our general perspective of good and evil is very limited here on this little ball of earth. If there is a god, or gods, they certainly have this higher knowledge, and in order to prepare us for our eventual, though slow, foray into the universe at large, they may find it necessary to break us in. We are fragile, soft and emotionally charged beings, and are as yet unprepared for the greater scope that is our universe. And to be engaged instantly in this greater scope would be far too much for us to handle at once. I'm sure this tragic event with the girl was balanced out, somewhere in the world, by a good event of equal proportion. But that's just my opinion. Strumpling
although this is an offtopic post *ahem!* I'll hop right in with my bold opinion: RELIGION IS A JOKE! STOP IT! -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- DOWN WITH "GOD!"
Otto Matta
I'd be careful. Who knows what's out there, Matt. "God" could be a highly technological, highly evolved and highly enlightened race of beings existing less than a millimeter from you at all times, who have been fighting psychological wars against other beings who want to use human minds as storage for their hyper-evil purposes, the latter protecting us because they believe in the natural freedom of all life in the universe. You never know. EA
Otto Matta
That would be "the former" that are protecting us - the good ones, not the bad ones. Whoops.
Strumpling
And God could be another form of government. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- hmmm? good or bad.... you decide
Guest Soyouth
God is a word that has too much historical meaning to be used in an objective way, if youjust try to find another denomination you could speak about some Consciousness that is underlying the universe, this is me and you and the animals and the planets... Every organism is part of the same unique entity, everything is one and that's the kind of feeling you can really understand while listenning to psy trance. Doesn't the Yeti or the crystal skulls make you feel something highly spiritul, over the language and the individuality of the body ? That's only my opinion but I would be gla to discuss about it Bom Shankar ! Plur
Guest -krap htuos-
GOD is Dead. Actually he never existed except in fairy tales and brainwashed peoples minds.
Guest mahalliner
Soyouth, spiritual feeling, no, emotional response, yes sure! I usually feel a wide range of emotions during an especially good mix of psy with its incredible highs and lows. However it does not make me want to reach to the god I belieive does not exist. It makes me feel that things are all up to us, always have been and always will be. To quote a good line I once heard "Cults are unpopular religions, religions are popular cults!" "Give me your money and do what I say!"

Guest Slidingtrancer
Religious people will just say it has enabled other people in some ways, because they would appreciate life more when they know there can be no tomorrow. I think the whole God thing is a fraud, but then again.. I study history...
