Guest Ma$e Posted March 25, 2002 Posted March 25, 2002 hmm...loads of people from the techno / nu-nrg scene invading the psychedelic parties. kundalini was a classic example of this. the main room was so packed...no space to dance. fair enough the vibe was good only it was so dissapointing to see how the first kundalini in a year (in london anyway) has changed so much. there just wasnt enough love an well being for me. Maybe the stratford rex would be a better place to do a party of such calibre?? it worked the night after anyway. just my opinion anyway...sorry to moan Quote
Guest Full Lotus Posted March 25, 2002 Posted March 25, 2002 Mase, don't worry you're not the first to moan. I didn't enjoy myself as much as I would have liked to (and I'm resident). I suggest you email the promoter kundalini001@yahoo.com (mailbox may be full) with your constructive comments. I believe the Rex was looked at, but then Antiworld are doing their parties over there (Elsewhere is part of the Antiworld parties) and there is always alot of politics in the psy scene in London in any case. It may be that the next Kundalini party will be ticket only, and numbers limited. I think that the guest list should be done away with, as this caused quite a few problems on the night, and always seems to cause problems in any case. Yes it was too hot, yes there were too many people and yes I will be passing on any constructive criticism to the promoters. BUT I don't think it matters who comes to the parties (techno/nu nrg), so long as the people are open minded and there for the right reasons. Quote
Guest dam10n Posted March 25, 2002 Posted March 25, 2002 i thought it was awesome - yes crowded but then it was raja and logic bomb know what I mean? I thought it was lovely really grinny and with the exception of obligatory random nasties a smashing bunch of people. didnt stay for andy masons set though was it good? Quote
Guest dam10n Posted March 25, 2002 Posted March 25, 2002 hey actually if anyone got pictures of this party can ya email me at damionwork@hotmail.com, doing a review tonight. Quote
bomble Posted March 25, 2002 Posted March 25, 2002 Alright there FL I phoned to see if there were tickets and it was (obviously) a sell out, so I didn't fancy the trek only to be stuck outside. I would prefer all promotors to do away with the guest list idea really. It makes for a two tier party experience which I don't think was ever the intention of the psychedelic scene. Of course, if promoters would like their friends and colleagues to come along... they could give them tickets! Full credit to Kundalini & others for sticking at it over the years though. I can't say I'm surprised that the crowd is changing - the musical style over the last couple of years has drawn much closer to classic techno and acid trance. As you say, that shouldn't matter in the least provided they are open and warm to the party atmosphere. I have taken friends who don't even listen to electronic music to parties before and they loved the whole otherworldly experience. Again, there shouldn't be a two tier of the psy-heads and others either. We're all speaking dialects of the same language... bomble Quote
Guest Full Lotus Posted March 25, 2002 Posted March 25, 2002 I'm in agreement with you there Bomble. Please let me know if you want any tickets for the next Kundalini on 19th April. Hallucinogen and Prometheus live. Take care and speak to you soon Fried Locust Quote
Guest Flying Kundalini Posted March 25, 2002 Posted March 25, 2002 I liked it.. RR was brilliant as were LB.. 1200 people in a 850 capacity.. whoa.. too hot :-) BomS Quote
Guest 665 Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 I travelled all the way from bloody North-east for the party anf bcause of @!#$3n GNER I couldn't get tickets in time.. I found tickets at the black market for 17 which i guess is not much but even though I arrived at 12:00 it was past 2 when i got in, people WITH TICKETS waited for more than 2 hours to get in, that is totally unacceptable... The music was great but the place was too crowded (there were definetley more than 1500 in a 1000 ppl venue)... I can still remember the sweat and Xtc smell when I entered the main room. The ceiling was dripping from all the bodysteam, and I was cosntalntly showering myself with water... If it wasn't for all this hustle it would have been a great party but you just couldn't dance. Now that I know I will definetly avoid going ot the Arches again nomatter who is playing... On the other hand, on saturday you had the exact oposite thing...Great place (the (stradford Rex) but generally average music (Psycahos, delta, dino psaras, E-303).... Quote
