Guest [tom jaimz]
Hi all. Some of you may not be aware that Saiko Sounds have just relaunched their web site. Check it out at http://www.saikosounds.com/. It is still possible for us to make a few more tweaks before we leave it alone completely, so have a look and give Saiko Sounds some feedback if there's something you'd like to see on the site. :-)
Guest psyfi
nice nice nice! finally it doesn't look like a 3 yr old boy playing with ms frontpage anymore ) looks really good! a bit slow though....
khogg
Well the website looks nice. It seems that you can no longer look at the whole catalog at once. I found that very useful.
Tatsu
the design is much better now but a little slow. great change anybway!
Guest Mesiaz
I miss the opportunity to look at the whole catalogue and to see all pending releases.
Guest Ubik
That's what I thought too, so here's what I sent and the answer I got : Hi Vincent Yes, this is something we are working on now ;-) > It's good looking, but is there a way to have the full catalogue listing > on one page like before ? > It was really handy not to have to browse through a ton of labels, > especially with the number of small labels today. > > Vincent Nice. Guest [tom jaimz]
Especially for Khogg, Mesiaz, and Ubik: http://www.saikosounds.com/english/store/catalog.asp http://www.saikosounds.com/english/store/pending.asp Are those good for you? The full catalog is around 150k, by the way. We haven't put links for these on the main pages yet. Trying to figure out where they should go. :-)
Guest Chong
well Tom if u have some connection to these guys can u also ask why it is cheaper to get CDs, Vinyl sent from Germany than it is thru Saiko Sounds which is much closer to Australia. And also why do their packages take longer to get here?
Guest [tom jaimz]
Chong - really? When you say cheaper, do you mean for the CD/Vinyl prices or do you mean for the shipping? It's the first I've heard that it's cheaper to get it sent from Germany. As for time, I ordered from Saiko about five time when I was living in Sydney, and on average the packages took about two days to get to me. Once I ordered at 6pm on a Wednesday and it was at my office 3pm the next day.

Guest StoNeY!
Tom, maybe I missed something, or maybe I'm just stupid , but are you DJ Jaimz that has some mixes on the saikosounds site? I allready noticed you're name a while ago, but since you have a dutch ip I never made the connection. Anyway, since you probably know the saikosound staff then, I love their service, but shipping is usually pretty expensive.
Guest Chong
Tom - I was referring to the shipping being pricier than Psyshop (but so are the CDs and Vinyl). And I have never had an order from SaikoSounds get to me quickly - I always wait for at least 2 weeks (about double the time it takes to come from Germany); this is why I'm puzzled!? khogg
To: Mr. Jaimz...thanks, and I do hope you will put a link for that on the sight 'cause I really like that feature and I think all online shops should do it, although most don't for some reason. As for the speed of their orders. My last order took a little over a week (to get to western Canada) and I'd say that's average for them for my orders. It's much faster than any other online order I've ever placed (never ordered from psyshop though). I have waited for a much as 3 months from some other places!! Anyway, I checked the the package tracking system on my last saiko order out of curiosity. It arrived in country and was in my city in just over a day. The delay was my country's customs people which evidently felt the need to open my package, as they always seem to do, must be my Al-Qaida conncections
Guest [tom jaimz]
Chong - I don't actually work for Saiko so naturally I can't give any official explanation as why it took so long, or why their shipping prices are more. But I reckon your two week delivery time is a bit of an exception from the stories I've heard. But I don't blame you for going with Psyshop if they're quicker and cheaper! :-) Stoney - Yes, I'm DJ Jaimz. I'm from Australia but I'm living in Amsterdam, thus the Dutch IP. :-) And yeah, their shipping is expensive to Europe - this is mostly because they don't have so many orders from Europe, as there are many other online stores already in Europe [Chaos, Psyshop].. cheaper shipping costs comes from increased traffic - the more they send the cheaper they can send it sort of thing. It's a Catch 22. :-( But they have excellent service. I think Chaos also has excellent service, tho. I don't think Psyshop's service is so good, but I think that's the only bad thing about Psyshop. Khogg - It's now part of the site. :-) And yes, a lot of delays are caused by customs. My last package took a week and a half to get to Holland, and then another week and a half to get to me. And they charged me 30 euros extra, even tho the value of the package was only 30 euros to begin with. [they = Dutch Postal Service, not Saiko. :-)].
