Guest Protex Midget
Lately i have noticed that people are sending in crappy reviews, and these reviews are being posted on the site. What's the deal with that? A good review should enclude a description of each track, a defanition of the music style, and an overall summury... But instead, i have to read reviews like: "This is a good album. Kind of psychedelic, but not really... Good stuff, i like it..." "This album sucks. It is @!#$...very boring stuff, i hate it" I mean, if people write shit like this, then how am i supposed to know what the album is like? Guest ironmonkey
While I agree that many of the reviews (especially of late) have been lacking, I don't think that a good review must include a dissertation on every single track. We definitely need less/none of the one liners that proclaim "This sucks!" or "This rocks!". Also, the vitriolic reviews of reviews are pointless clutter. As I've said before, what's worked for me is to find people that post regularly that have similar musical tastes and use their suggestions to help gauge your purchasing. However, I have, in the past year, moved onto using samples from psyshop, saikosounds, et al. or tracks from streams (goablaze.org/philo) as a way of determining if something is to my liking. Of course, past experience with a group is also very useful.
